Lantern Cottage

The location was lovely and very easy for my older relation to get around Rye from there. The cottage was well equipped and very light inside. Beds very comfy. Rye is so interesting historically and near the sea too.

Clean, comfortable, well equipped and fab location.

We weren’t informed about roofing works. Scaffolders arrived early Monday morning waking us up and started assembling scaffolding right outside the bathroom window which doesn’t have a blind. We rigged up a towel over the bathroom door and clothes rack but had to leave the bathroom door open to hold up the towel. They were also working outside the kitchen window which also has no blind. Wouldn’t usually be a problem as property is not overlooked at the back. Felt like an intrusion and we should have been informed about this in advance.

La limpieza era deficiente. El equipamiento dejaba mucho que desear, no había gel , ni papel por ejemplo ; la falta de comunicación con el propietario que no respondió a varias cuestiones importantes que le hicimos a lo largo de la estancia . No hay sitio para dejar el equipaje cuando la salida es a la 10 de la mañana , seguro que en la zona hoy opciones mejores por este precio.
