Capung Cottages

Host was at reception when we arrived and we were shown to our room. The bed was comfortable, and the room clean and bright with an outdoor terrace overlooking the pretty gardens and pool. Big bathroom and good shower. AirCon was needed most of the time. Pool was well maintained and good temperature. Reception brought us pool towels when we asked. they were also helpful ordering taxis for various outings. Although the location is in central Ubud, there was a long narrow road leading to the cottages, meaning it was pretty quiet. Once on the main road it was near the Royal Palace and other central tourist places. We had a special deal as it was the beginning of the slow season so very good value.

Breakfast had to be ordered the night before, and there was no cereal option. Bread was not really toasted, but the fresh fruit and yoghurt was plentiful, and smoothies nice, served on the terrace. we had a problem with the toilet running continuously but chose not to report it until we were leaving rather than have a plumber messing about in our room.

A little oasis 10 mins away from the mayhem of Ubud. Lovely pool. Amazing and helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Good air con. TV with many channels. Peaceful but striking distance to many bars, restaurants and shops. Loved it here. Would stay again.

Nothing I didn’t like

Wonderful friendly staff in a beautiful, green oasis. The location was great, close to the busy centre of Ubud, yet it was still quiet and relaxed. Walking through the gate into the property was a moment of relaxation. Lovely breakfast served on our private terrace.

There was no shower by the pool for use before and after, and it was awkward showering in our bathroom, swimming and showering again.

Lovely friendly staff but not enough staff only 2-3 that we saw

Very dated outdoor area hard to walk around comfortably pool was lovely deck chairs very uncomfortable and old no cushions hard to walk to town down an alleyway with much traffic eating places within 15 min walk very average and breakfast was very ordinary
