Oak Lea

Perfect location. Views. Facilities. Hot water. Large enough

Had to do a 9-11 point turn in car each time, but that was a minor inconvenience.

Really good location for with dogs , had everything we needed.

We think the thermostat is faulty on the bath taps , it didn’t appear to be getting up to a bath temp though the boiler appears new ish and the heating was fine - not a complaint just letting you know , no cold water required and it wasn’t a “hot soak” , we have had faulty ones in our building company. Did the same. It wasn’t a problem we took a shower.

Oak Lea is in a beautiful location at the top of a small village, with views of hills. Scenic walks are immediately accessible. We enjoyed watching local wildlife, including red squirrels visiting the nut-feeder in the garden --- which the owner kindly refilled when we arrived. We also enjoyed visiting the art gallery and cafe in the village. There's a bus stop only a few minutes' walk away, and it's just a 12 minute ride into Keswick with its many attractions.

Turning in the parking space is a little awkward, but we soon got used to it. There's not a lot of space in the bedrooms and bathroom, but we adapted easily enough.

Location is perfect for exploring area and walks from front door, great views and wildlife. Last stayed at Oak Lea over 30 years ago as a child and didn't disappoint, left with the same happy memories this time!
