From the moment we arrived at Elsa’s beautiful holiday home, we felt so comfortable. Not only is the setting magnificent but the warmth and welcome we received was incredible. Freshly baked pasteis de nata with a wonderful bottle of port greeted us. Everything in the home is as pictured and is even more beautiful than you can imagine. We were blessed with glorious weather so were lucky enough to take advantage of the pristine private pool. Our every last need was attended to, for example at the pool there were beach towels, loungers, and fantastic cooking facilities including a barbecue - all so perfect that we didn’t have to go down to the house to get forks or knives or glasses or anything for the kitchen and could spend our whole day relaxing poolside. The patio on the house offered incredible views of the Douro river and we loved watching the boats and rowers pass by. It is a very peaceful place and we could totally relax and enjoy the scenery. Throughout our stay as some personal challenges arose, Elsa was there to support us in every way with advice and a personalised courier service.
Moreover she kindly spoiled us on the various occasions we had come to celebrate. Do not hesitate at all to visit this five-star property and experience.

The owners went above and beyond what they would have been expected to do. The villa is pleasantly decorated mostly with reclaimed objects. Cooking facilities were very adequate and having this by the pool as well was very welcomed. Very peaceful and calm and we left feeling like we actually had a holiday. Owners were always on hand to help us. The pool are is quite amazing. Everything you need there to spend the day without having to go back to the villa. Well its not the fault of the owners but it is quite steep there and would not be suitable for someone with walking disabilities, but then again I had a dodgy knee whilst away and I managed, slowly but I managed.

My family of 3 (teenage son) had a great time. The casa is beautifully decorated, clean and well equipped. The views to the river are hypnotizing. The pool is on a hill above the casa - 2 minute walk. It was our favorite area - it feels like the world has stopped - the only sounds are the chirping of birds and the ring of the church’s bells. The property is 20 min away from Porto by car - we made trips late afternoon to explore the city (beautiful city). I must mention the owners Elsa and Philip - they are the heart of this place - they give you full privacy but you feel their caring. Don’t miss to talk to them - the history of the place is book-worthy. A note about the taxi cab driver Jorge (ask the owners for his contact) - we used his services 8 times - his smile, positive energy, and story- telling enriched our experience. Thank you, Elsa, Philip, and Jorge!
