Reasonable stay - in need of an update

Location was great for hiking nearby mountains and quite well equipped. Great heating - really warm despite v low temps. Good comms from owners

No wine glasses. Leaky shower. Very old mattresses in double bedrooms, and small single in other rooms. Checkout at 10 felt unreasonable considering the list of requests to tidy etc.

Homely but spacious cottage

Lovely accomodation, it was clean and well equipped, a perfect base for us visiting Penryhn Quarry and exploring Snowdonia. The furnishings/fixtures/facilities were of a good standard, and the hosts left lovely little welcome treats for both adults and children. The cottage was all nicely decorated for Christmas, which was a lovely touch.

The double beds are very low to the floor and not the comfiest.

What a gem

Host very easy to contact regarding key collection information. Very friendly over the phone. Spotlessly clean throughout the cottage. Excellent value for money. Would definitely visit again if I was back in the area. Stunning scenery from the garden.

There really wasn't anything to dislike, the only thing I would suggest is that the house number be put on the back of the house or on the gate to help identify you are entering the correct garden as initially you have to enter property via back door

Large spacious communal areas, great easy check in. Ideal facilities and tonnes of information left by hosts.

Not the cleanest, lots of cobwebs and old mismatched furniture and carpets. Felt like student accommodation. However for the cost, it was absolutely acceptable and we would happily stay again.

Great location and views

Location was excellent for visiting the local area, plenty of on street parking. Great to have four bedrooms especially when travelling with friends/larger family. Large bathroom with corner bath and good shower. The hosts were very helpful with instructions beforehand and left a lovely welcome gift on arrival which was really appreciated. The views from the property across the valley are wonderful

Couldn't find any instructions for the oven/grill which took some working out, also only a minor thing but the WiFi code had been partly rubbed away so we had to guess certain letters (maybe a copy in the housefile would be useful?) We kept the property clean and tidy but found on arrival some of the hard floors felt a little sticky. Unusually guests are asked to vacuum the property prior to leaving whilst we respected the owners' request this was a little time consuming and feel perhaps this would be best left (unless crumbs/dirt had been created by guests) to housekeeping to do a thorough clean between guests.

location was only a few miles from where we needed to be

property is very grubby and needs a lot of tlc. mould in shower seals and around shower . under loo seat was hardened excrement and urine! get the feeling the owners rely on previous holiday makers to do the cleaning as the information book requests that the dishwasher is empty and that you run the hoover around before you leave any 9am! mirrors look like they have been cleaned with a dirty wet cloth. Sorry but not even a reasonable standard.

Does what it says on the slate

The location of the property was good for what we were there for, as was the cottage. It was spacious with hot water and central heating, as and when we needed it. Bathroom facilities were adequate for our needs with a nice power shower and corner bath. A lovely view of the mountains from this bathroom window too. Owners thoughtfully left out a delicious bottle of good quality wine and a packet of biscuits for us in the kitchen. Also some milk and bread which was appreciated. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils. The lounge was comfortable and I especially enjoyed sitting at the large pine table in the dining area. Instructions to enter the property were clear and owner very friendly when I called to confirm the key instructions. The locals were friendly and polite. Park/field area at the back of the property to walk the dog if needed - reassuring to note that there was a defibrillator next to the final step on the way back to the cottage from walking the dog, thankfully it wasn't needed. Had a fab time in and around Bethesda and my calves received a great workout with all the steep walking that we did. Two of the four bedrooms were on the top floor in a large loft conversion with skylight window to each. This was impressive as we weren't expecting this top level. Took a night to get used to a soft mattress, but on the second night I slept like a log. However, that's just me as the rest of my party said they were fine. Great little Chinese and Indian take away/restaurant a short walk away. Local Londis too. Good WiFi service.

I think it would be a good idea to leave written step by step instructions in how to use the electric cooker and television in the folder. Unfortunately we couldnt use either but it didn't spoil our short stay.

Exceptional

The cottage was really comfortable. It had everything we needed - washing machine, kettle, comfy beds, good shower, and so on. It felt very home-from-home. And the owner was so helpful and friendly when we were being particularly silly about the key code for the key box! It was also in the perfect location for hiking / beach / places to eat.

The property needs a good clean. With people more aware of hygiene with covid cupboards need cleaning properly after every visitor. Throws on back of sofa not a good idea! Bedding was clean but needs renewing . Shower needed a good clean before we used it.

Total lack of information from host beforehand. I had to chase up about keys. Not let known towels would not be available

Property was dirty which was extremely worrying with the present COVID situation. We found dirty tissues and hairs in bath and shower. The whole place needed a good clean. Not only was this disappointing but also dangerous.

Quaint yet spacious

Good layout, and spacious, a field across the back for the dogs to run, good, powerful shower, everything you needed included, a lovely little welcome pack of bread, milk, wine, etc. No need to arrange check in/out, so easy.

Home from home

This is great property to explore Snowdonia from, especially the Glyderau and Carneddau areas. Its a lot bigger inside than it looks from the outside, with 4 good size bedrooms. We found the house clean and tidy, complete with bread, milk, a bottle of wine and some tasty treats. Overall, the cottage was a perfect home from home, and concidering the size really good value for money. Would definitely stay here again.
