Rinn Hanayacho Asagiri

After arriving in Kyoto by Shinkansen, we headed to Rinn Kyoto Station Hotel to pick up our keys. The staff were incredibly friendly and even offered us a selection of goodies to choose from. (We definitely recommend the cooling patches if your legs are tired after a long day of sightseeing!) The hotel also arranged a taxi to take us to our accommodation. We fell in love with our beautiful traditional Kyoto house the moment we walked through the door. There was plenty of space for our luggage in the entrance, and we especially loved the dining room, with its traditional low table and cushions instead of chairs. The bathroom was spacious and very functional, too. Our favourite part was probably the bedroom on the first floor, with a king-sized bed and two surprisingly comfortable futon beds. We loved the overall design, natural materials, and tasteful details that made the house feel both authentic and comfortable. We also really appreciated the peaceful, quiet neighbourhood.

We tried to fill the bathtub with hot water, but unfortunately, the water never got warm enough for us to enjoy a proper bath.

Very easy check-in and check-out process, lovely hotel staff with a great level of English! We really appreciated the taxi pickup and transport to the house :) The house itself was simply amazing... everything needed was there, lovely wooden ofuro bath, clean and simply beautiful place. Quiet neighborhood with great connections, convenience stores, and everything you need nearby. We will be back 100%/

Maybe the only minus is the small fridge! But that's the only thing I can think of :)

I liked the bathtub, the house has a very authentic Kyoto machiya vibe, the staff received us warmly and gave us a nice welcoming gift. Shower place was also nice and the decoration was good too. There were many good amenities provided and water on the fridge and there was a coffee machine with capsules. WiFi was also quick and reliable.

- property was properly cleaned, under the tv table there were layers of dust. - blankets were extremely hot for all members of my group. - the toilet door had a very big gap in between the wood boards, so you can see the people inside the toilet. Not much privacy feeling. - if you are looking specifically for a traditional experience this is fine, otherwise just go to a normal hotel.
