Luck You Kyoto

We were welcomed in a timely way, and the process was very organized. I loved the matcha and especially the amazing sweet treat (round brown ball) which I could not find elsewhere. All information was clear. All staff was super lovely. We felt very welcome. Nice mixture of English and Japanese language available. Breakfast was nice - good selection. My 12 and 14 year old, and myself too!, really loved the evening treats. We had very hot days and they kindly supplied ice packs for us to carry around and be cooled off by. Our room was clean, spacious enough for us three + luggage, and enjoyable. View from window had some nice nature to look at. We had the chance to use nearby onsens - which were great. We felt lucky and happy while staying at Luck You.

The taxi driver found it tricky to locate the ryokan. There are many small, side streets in Kyoto. He called twice and we finally arrived. TIP: Bring a copy of any address in Japanese characters. Try to print a map of its location, if you don't have Internet service.

Nothing everything was amazing

We loved it. Only stayed 2 nights and wish we’d stayed longer. Super clean and modern but also traditional with all the electrical outlets and air conditioning we needed. The staff were so so very kind and eager to help us in any way they could. My kids loved the sleepover feel and my husband and I loved that they slept so we could sleep well to. Really appreciated having a mini fridge in the room also.

My husband wished there were scrambled eggs and bacon or sausage at breakfast. There were tons of options and lots of really cool Japanese foods to try but he needed that little taste of home to get some extra protein in the mornings.
