As ryokan-style accommodation, the room had a lot of character. We enjoyed the traditional Japanese features such as the yukata robes, the tatami mats and the wooden bath. It was immaculately clean. The kitchen was small but met our needs. The hotel is located fairly close to Kyoto rail station and next to a very pleasant park.
The room was somewhat lacking in daylight, due to a tall fence outside the window (although on the plus side this did also afford privacy). The futon-style beds were a little hard for us, and the low chairs and table quite challenging for our ageing bones! However, this is all part of the character of the hotel.

Traditionelle japanisch! Japanisches Frühstück war auch sehr lecker!
Wir waren im ersten Stockwerk. Die Treppe war sehr steil. Beim Kofferrauftragen war Horror. Der Gatte hat sich leider schwer getan beim Bodensitzen und Bodenschlafen.
