Looked after at the Regent

Very comfortable bed (and we are fussy about this), clean room, nice, helpful and friendly staff (special mention for Stephanie on reception, goes over and above). Excellent location, beautiful views and lovely breakfast but being entirely honest it was a bit cold both mornings. Unusual decor, and comfortable chairs and sofas. We will be back and that says it all.

The temperature of the breakfast and the tea / coffee, I like this hot. The look of it outside, the retro looks and the colours are not to my taste but that's just cosmetics.

This is an older property that is no longer Scottish owned. Our room was housed in an outer building in the back. You had to walk thru a parking lot that had garbage and large bins of old furniture and items being thrown out. The room was very smelly and when we asked to move the staff told us we would need to Pay for an upgrade . The shower had no hot water for the duration of our stay.

The hotel was excellent, clean and warm, and we had an added bonus of fine weather throughout.

The location of the room with no sea view was what we would expect for the price we paid. It suited us well, was very clean, comfortable, and the en suite etc was perfect. The location of the hotel was lovely with its views to Kerrera and Mull. The cooked traditional Scottish breakfast was alright (adequate). There was an alternative continental breakfast, which looked good. We very much liked the good quality soap, toilet roll, coffee & tea sachets, shortbread, and a box with tissues provided.

Cooked breakfast being served to us before we had finished eating cereal.

Very disappointed , wanted to use the Pool but it was absolutely freezing

The location was perfect

The "Heated Swimming Pool" was ice cold and could have given someone a heart attack if they just jumped in , complained to 3 staff about it , didnt make any difference , we could only stay in for 5 minutes and had to come out as we were not warming up . Booked specifically for use of the pool which we could not use as it was freezing , the sea might have been warmer . we were moved from a family room to a double which was not nice at all , we have been to this Hotel in the summer and everything was good and recommended it to another couple who booked it , their room was worse , we are so embarrassed to have told them about it , staff were really good but we wont be back

Good location, disappointing hotel

Location is great. The staff were friendly, we received a warm welcome and were super helpful whenever we asked for support.

The pool was very dirty, mouldy around the edges like it hasn't had a good clean in years. This was a key reason for staying at the hotel as our son loves to swim, so it was a big disappointment. The steam room was also dirty, the floor didn't look safe to stand on. The room was fine but towels and bedding had stains.

Because of hard bed, would not recommend...

The hotel over all was fine...the pool was lovely...had it all to myself on the two mornings we were there...the lounge area was nice, also the dining area looked nice...we didn't eat at the hotel.the room was okay. With a view of the bay...

The bed was so hard I got very little sleep, if any...cut our stay short after two nights. Complained after first night, but they could offer us no other room...when checking out they then offered another room, but we decided to leave it.

Old School Beachfront Hotel

Beautiful old building. The lovely check in staff - especially Stephanie. She seemed to be the only one duty and was was running reception and the bar alone. Great views and location. Clean w lots of hot water. Bed was comfortable

A huge and lovely old traditional hotel. The place is a little tired- the decor needs a makeover. The bar is a makeshift affair. There's a lovely outdoor space but the outdoor furniture has those woven tables that should have glass on top - but these were all missing so drinks were falling over. You had to put them on the floor. Old toilets stacked up the side of the hotel. So much space and under-utilised restaurant and public area. Would make a beautiful beachfront restaurant for a third party restauranteur

Bedroom was very small with a sloping ceiling which was a hazard Window was very draughty in the bedroom 10 and the bathroom window let in Bed was uncomfortable with a dip in the middle and the duvet was extremely thin. We were freezing the first night Very poor room for £387 for 2 nights bed and breakfast. I expected much more for my money

Wrong choice

To be honest nothing .

Poor service and attending the customers. As we all friends were there to visit the town and had to drop our luggage for day hours . We had to drop those beside the reception desk only . Kind of getting our bags vulnerable and dirty . No wifi was available to be connected to even watch TV .poor channels availability. Asked for additional milk , nothing was provided . Asked for additional fruits . If it was not included in the bill they should have asked for extra money if they needed but nothing was done . Rooms were located at the back of the hotel with 0 view of the coast was detrimental in itself . Treatment of staff except one person was poor and lethargic .

Very disappointing, previous trip advisor comments report pool often closed 😔 Restaurant staff lovely but due to mismanagement in the kitchen ( re stock / availability )limited choice & no cheese board . Made special request to chef re seasoning but yet food appeared covered in seasoning , not great when have reason for request. Restaurant not busy , seems poor for a Saturday / summertime. Chef really needs to listen to comments as minor adjustments could make all the difference. Food we did receive was delicious

Great hotel in a perfect location (and with a very cold swimming pool :) )

Great location, very clean and spacious rooms, very tasty and good quality breakfast.

Unfortunately the water in the swimming pool was very cold. It was really disappointing, especially after a full day of travel prior coming to the hotel. My 8yo son was sooo looking forward to a swim at the end of the today but even for him the water was far too cold. Hopefully it was just a one-off occurrence and not how the pool is all the time. Apart from that everything was perfect.
