Simply wonderful

We loved everything about this gorgeous property. Wonderful! Martina is a fantastic host. Our room had a picture window with a great view of the mountains and lake. The room itself was spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We loved the little communal kitchen area that we could pop into to grab some snacks and a beer (write what you had and pay Martina later). The breakfast was immense! Martina cooked for us and the food was delicious - a real treat. We were on a 2.5k mile road trip from UK and car parking was safe and easy to find (follow Martina’s directions not satnav). We were sad to leave this property but Martina gave us great advice on where to stay next and where to visit on the lakes. We feel very lucky to have found this gem of a place.

An amazing b&b a short drive into the mountains overlooking Lago Maggiore.

Martina was an amazing host. She made the most amazing breakfast, which was taken in her beautiful garden. The menu was different every day, with homemade cakes, waffles and pancakes and with fresh fruit and breads, and homemade jams. Ou room and bathroom was very clean an spacious and had a wonderful view of the lake. This is an amazing small business which will wow you. You will need a car to reach this b&b, but if you want to make a good visit to Lago Maggiore you’ll need a car anyway.

The view is great. Martina, the hostess, was great, very welcoming and helpful. She recommended us on very nice trips in the area. The breakfast was great! The best one we ate in Europe, very rich and Martina made everything on the spot. The rooms are well decorated.

There were ants in our room when we left there fruits. We didn't leave food open anymore and they cleaned the ants and it was fine after that.

This property is beautifully updated and very inviting. we loved it so much we booked a second night just to enjoy the peaceful stay. Breakfast was amazing and the owner was very kind and helpful. the setting on the mountainside was breathtaking of the valley and the lake. The street is very quiet and peaceful. definitely will stay here again.

The accommodation have completely convinced us. The accommodation fits in perfectly with the surroundings and the rooms were clean, modern and large. The beds are very comfortable and the surroundings are very quiet. We have never slept away as well as here. The breakfast was exceptionally good - no wish was left unfulfilled. There were traditional Italian delicacies including insider tips from the owner Martina. So we were well equipped for the day trips. The owner is there for her guests with all her heart and has an incomparable, positive manner! If you are looking for a place to stay near Lake Maggiore, Martina's address is, in our opinion, the best one that can be dazed. We will always remember the time at Lake Maggiore and we will always think of Martina's accommodation!

Wonderful quite place with exceptional host and breakfast

We spent a lovely week in Martina’s place in August 2021. The house is in a small lovely village overlooking the lake and surroundings. The place is spotlessly clean. Martine is an outstanding host. She speaks very good English and French, is always available, gives excellent advices for visiting or eating out and is extremely friendly. The apartment with the view on the hills and the lake was breathtaking. Martina pays lot of attention for the decoration. The house was fully renovated few years ago and everything is brand new. The place is quite but central to visit the beautiful region. There are supermarkets and grocery shops close by car. Restaurants are easy to be found in the nearby. Martina’s breakfasts our unbelievable. She proposes every morning something new and fresh, prepares lot of things on her own and we found everything delicious. We recommend this place to all and wish to come back again. Grazie mille Martina e ci vediamo la prossima volta. Gabriella and family from Belgium :)

To make it short: Book your stay at “Il riccio di Ricciano”! You will not regret it. And in a bit more detail: The location is ideal if you travel by car. You are away from the tourists but all three lakes, attractions and many delicious restaurants can be easily reached. The rooms are super nice, comfortable and clean. But the most important thing is the hostess: Martina serves superbly delicious breakfast every single day. She will always help you whatever your needs are: make restaurant reservations, book covid tests, give you insider tips on excursions or bathing spots. Her good mood and open-heartedness will immediately relax you and put you in a great mindset for your holiday. We stayed for two weeks, never got bored in the area and will definitely be back.

We had amazing breakfast including waffles, fried eggs, ham + cheese, cake and much more. Breakfast was served in the garden which offered an awesome view of Lago Maggiore and Gravellona Toce. Martina was super nice and a perfect host.

In the neighborhood are a few dogs which tend to bark every now and then during the night. With a closed window/with earplugs it was ok.
