Comfortable rooms, friendly reception and great restaurant!

The family is very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately it was rainy when we were there, so we were unable to fully enjoy Lago Mergozzo as we 'd hope. However, we had a great dinner at the restaurant of the hotel and enjoyed our stay very much.

Loads of pleasurable exercise , food, and new stuff to see . Bravo ! !

Walking around the lake , swimming in the lake, taking the bus to Intra market, eating wonderful food (hotel restaurant v good ), coffee and oh my the ice cream. ! Mergozzo has a lovely vibe and people in general looked happy and were friendly. We had a fabulous 5 or 6 days . All the staff at Casa Castagna were great - good at their jobs and fun to chat with .

A perfect hotel for wine and champagne lovers (and all others as well)

This hotel is a true jewel at the lake Mergozzo. The owners are present daily, at least in the evening. Everybody has been very friendly and helpful, from arrival to departure. Parking is available nearby (5 minutes walk), loading and unloading of baggage is possible in front of the hotel. The entire building (which has been orginally erected in 1620, hence the name) has been fully refurbished until one year ago and is maintained in perfect condition. A minor problem with the shower drain in our room has been fixed within a few hours. Our small dog was welcome as well and felt at home immediately. The food is very tasty, the champagne list (!) runs more than ten pages, followed by a very impressive wine list. This is a place for enthusiasts. If you want to have a meal at other places, there are many opportunities in close walking distance. We have had a wonderful week at Casa Castagna 1620 and will definitely come back. Thank you once again for making this a perfrect holiday !!!

There has been literally nothing to complain - seriously, even for us "picky" tourists. Since our teenage kids sleep rather long in the morning, we had been concerned that we might have a problem with room cleaning. But even this worked out without difficulty.

We loved everything about Casa Castagna 1620. The friendly welcome and wonderful service from the staff, the beautiful location and the amazing food. The location is stunning and the room is so relaxing with a wonderful view of the lake. We would highly recomend this hotel.

Exceptional

The room, including the bathroom, was spacious and tastefully decorated. We felt welcome in this hotel and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It was relaxing to have a meal at the restaurant downstairs, especially the croissants at breakfast, while staring at the beautiful view of the lake and mountain. At the end of a long day, it was also nice to just sit at the balcony while enjoying the view.

Casa Castagna is a gem!

The location is idyllic, on a small square just steps from the peaceful lake. The hotel rooms are spacious and beautifully restored, with hardwood floors, open-beam ceilings and a careful mix of antique furnishings and modern appointments. The bedding is super comfortable, the linens fresh and crisp, the towels and bathrobe generous and plush. Everything is spotlessly clean. Meals are a joy: Breakfast features an abundant selection of juices, fruit, cheeses, eggs and the best croissants this side of Paris. Dinners include beautifully plated salads, pastas, secondi and desserts — all absolutely delicious.Service from the owner and staff is unfailingly warm, friendly and accommodating; I was totally satisfied and content from check-in to departure.

As no breakfast buffet available due to Covid regulations, you have the option to order a full breakfast to the price of Euro 20. It would be nice if breakfast could be included in the room rate or available at a more moderate price for hotel guests.

Lovely hosts that are extremely friendly and helpful! A most delicious breakfast with cheese which they make themselves and sell it in the spot- the Apartment was beautifully designed - a big bathroom with a large shower… we cannot mention all..

Prachtig gelegen hotel aan meer, met fijne sfeer en gastvrijheid hoog in het vaandel.

Het hotel ademt een familie bedrijf uit. Met oog voor elk detail. Zoon ontving ons zeer vriendelijk. Mooie inrichting van de kamer in gedempte kleuren. Eten was werkelijk heerlijk! Beste tiramisu ooit.

Wir haben einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt im Casa Castagna 1620 genossen. Die Lage direkt am See ist perfekt und auch lockt der benachbarte Lago Maggiore mit tollen Ausflugsmöglichkeiten. Die im Familienbetrieb geführte Unterkunft ist einfach zauberhaft und der persönliche Service wie auch die ausgezeichnete Küche samt umfangreichen Weinkeller ist besonders hervorzuheben. Auch, dass überwiegend regionale Spezialitäten angeboten werden. Wir buchen definitiv erneut eine wundervolle Auszeit und freuen uns schon jetzt auf den nächsten Aufenthalt.

Für uns war alles perfekt und wir haben nichts zu bemängeln.

Ein Traum.

Eine traumhaft schöne Unterkunft, liebevoll eingerichtet, direkter Seeblick, extrem fürsorgliches und freundliches Personal. Die Familie Castagna ist umwerfend, sehr bemüht, es ist einfach an alles gedacht. Das Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen, der direkte Seeblick ist nicht zu toppen. Für uns ist die Casa Castagna ein absoluter Geheimtipp.

Die direkte Seelage war perfekt. Das Hotel ist mit wunderschönen Details versehen und sehr chic und dennoch authentisch eingerichtet. Ein Parkplatz steht nur wenige Gehminuten entfernt zur Verfügung und zum Check-In und Check-Out kann man direkt auf die Piazza vor dem Hotel fahren. Das Personal ist extrem freundlich, hilfsbereit und sehr flexibel. Andrea war ein toller Gastgeber. Leider weiss ich den Namen von der jungen Dame im Service nicht, sie macht einen tollen Job! Vielen lieben Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt.

Geweldig: we komen zeker terug!

We hebben veel gereisd maar nergens werden we zó hartelijk ontvangen en welkom geheten als bij het smaakvol ingerichte Casa Castagna door Andrea. Alles klopte: het hotel zelf, de ligging, de gastvrije familie Castagna en het buitengewoon lekkere eten.

Alles was werkelijk ‘Perfetto’, fantastisch dus. Beslist aan te raden. Wil je als een echte Italiaan ontbijten, kies dan voor ‘t kleine ontbijt. Zo niet: kies dan het ‘continental breakfast’ om ‘‘s ochtends al te kunnen slempen.

Sehr freundliche und herzliche Atmosphäre, tolle Lage mit Blick auf den See. Das Haus ist sehr liebevoll und aufwändig renoviert und die Zimmer bieten einen sehr guten Standard. Bitte unbedingt Abendessen dort buchen. Ausgewählte Zutaten, beste Qualität und wunderbar kreative und schmackhafte Gerichte. Die Weinkarte hat knapp 70 Seiten für die allerhöchsten Ansprüche. Vielen Dank an die Familie Castagna für eine wunderbare Urlaubswoche.

Ein wunderschönes Apartment mit tollem Blick auf den See und den Vorplatz. Die Gastgeber und alle Angestellten waren außerordentlich nett, freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen war einfach super.

Un piacevolissimo soggiorno

Ottima struttura con posizione perfetta direttamente sul lago. Camere pulitissime e in ordine, letti con ogni comfort e anche il bagno provvisto di tutto il necessario. Lo staff gentilissimo e super disponibile, pronto a soddisfare ogni richiesta. Una colazione ottima, con servizio eccellente. Davvero ottima come struttura, gestita benissimo!

Qualche utensile, come i no straccio da cucina, una spugna e del sapone per i piatti sarebbero stati molto utili. Nonostante questo, in realtà è provvisto di tutte le stoviglie necessarie e di tutto ciò che potrebbe servire durante un soggiorno, sono solo comodità in più!
