L'Antico Borgo

I came to Italy knowing little to no Italian but the staff was super friendly, patient and helpful to both me and my son. I booked L’Antico Borgo last minute and it was the honestly the best decision I made. Mr Piero came to pick me and my son up from the airport 30 minutes after I booked the hotel. He was friendly and my son liked him straight away. The hotel is gorgeous and very clean. Everyday that I stayed there I watched as the housekeepers happily and diligently did their jobs and it shows in the results. I would rate the cleanliness 10/10. I also loved that there was two spare blankets and a duvet in the wardrobe incase we got cold at night and we did use it. We were able to get breakfast which was super helpful and what I liked was there wasn’t a time limit on when you could eat breakfast they just trusted their guest and it really made us feel at home. L’Antico Borgo is 10/12 minutes away from the Bergamo Airport. If you can drive and want to see more of Bergamo Milan, I would say hire a car but if you can’t then I would highly recommend Mr Piero as a way to get around. His services were priced fairly and he was super helpful. He helped me and my son get to our next hotel and made sure we were safe before he left. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a good rest and a home away from home. 10/10 services and I will definitely come back.

spacious clean rooms with character (old design, but modern interior)

host a bit aloof; tricky long walking distance to airport thru deserted roads: 40minutes minimum for a fast walker help yourself for breakfast with no explanations before hand; time consuming in early morning especially if you are in a hurry

Clean hotel, well preserved historic building with and courtyard. Reception open for check-in even for those arriving late to Bergamo Airport. Possible to stay up to 11 am and even a bit later

Wi-Fi was stable but slow. Breakfast was primitive, needs somewhat more local touch.

It was very close to the airport and it was in a very local rural area which was a nice experience.

There are a few things that didn’t work so well. Our room had outdated electricity sockets so our EU converters wouldn’t work. Luckily we had family staying down the hall whose room had a power strip so we could charge our phones. The water took a long time to heat up in the shower and the mattresses weren’t very comfortable.
