Stay Bergamo

We got very detailed instructions on how to self check in which were easy to follow. The room itself was very clean. It was quiet and the beds were very comfortable.

The air con wasn’t very powerful, but it was a particularly hot night.

The room was clean, spacious , quiet it has comfortable beds. The location is close to the old city center and about 35 min walk to Funicolare Bergamo - Città Alta, Good communication with the host. There are no parking spaces in front of the building as it is located on a busy main street , but you can find places with a fee nearby. Near the train station , opposite the building are some railway tracks.

The room was very clean and self-check in process is very easy. Close to Bergamo airport (10 min by car).

It was our second time staying at the property (we stayed there seven years ago, under different ownership) and we were looking forward to having similar experience as before. TV was removed from the room, so there was not much for the kids to do before bed. There was a kettle with tea bags but no milk or milk sachets?? Not everyone likes their tea/coffee black. There was a padlock on the fridge?? When we asked if we could get milk anywhere, we were told it was only for guests that booked rate with breakfast. Sorry, but after paying €170 for 6 hours at this b&b, we would at least expect a few sachets of milk. Another surprise was the price of taxis: €60 for 10 min ride. These must be prices set by taxi mafia because we never paid these crazy taxi prices anywhere. hotel’s manager refused to call us a taxi (our flight was at 7am and we needed to be at the airport for 5am plus it was a Sunday, so no public bus) and told us to get it in the morning using a robot system called Iris, which did not guarantee that there will be a taxi available to bring all 5 of us to the airport. Then reluctantly she said she called them, yet we had to ring in the morning to order it. We don’t understand why in Bergamo it’s not possible to book a taxi from the night before?? No Uber. Manager also gave us wrong info saying there was a public bus and sent 28 pages of timetable. After looking through these pages in Italian, I told her there was no bus at 4-5am on a Sunday. She confirmed there was not. In the end we booked a small taxi that had to make two trips. Next time we will fly from a different airport or rent a car to avoid being ripped off.
