A great place to stay!

Ledbury is an interesting town with a great selection of independent shops. The pub/hotel itself is full of history, especially the dining room. Our room was large and very comfortable, just rather warm (a very efficient heater!) but a large fan was thoughtfully provided. Had a few drinks in the bar where live music happened later in the evening, a great atmosphere. Breakfast next morning was good as well. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, just a shame about the torrential rain!

It was a delightful experience and I would love to stay here again I visit Ledbury again

I would have given this hotel 10 stars based purely on the wonderful, kind, helpful staff not to mention that very welcome log fire in the bar. The property is historically very interesting and because of the age of the building quite quirky which adds to its charm

Probably not somewhere to recommend for someone with significant disabilities. Don’t think there was a lift and the stairs maybe a bit higgledy piggeldy in places. The taps on the bathroom sink were a bit stiff

Great location and staff, nice clean room, but other little things that affected our review

The breakfast was really good and we ate there one night and that was good too. The room was a nice size and clean

The water pressure in the bathroom was very low, took ages to even wash your hands The bed was very uncomfortable, resulting in very little sleep for both of us. Also at the time we were there the men’s toilets were in portacabins outside and my husband would not use them as they were wet and smelt a bit And nowhere to wash your hands

Great place with character.

Good location just off the main street Spacious room , comfortable & clean . Nice friendly atmosphere in the bar . Quaint place with history. Excellent breakfast. Would stay again.

Nothing really to dislike . No parking on site but we were given directions to a carpark nearby . We stayed on a Sunday & unfortunately they don’t serve food on a Sunday evening . Totally understand but we would have loved to have eaten there .

We chose not to stay

We did not stay as a leak in the roof and tub in the corridor, but very old building, not for us. A lady called the next day to ask if we were coming, that was annoying as we handed he keys back to a member of staff, the previous evening. Due to check in rules we did not get a refund,

Charismatic and very friendly

Modern rooms but a very traditional and old setting, staff were very nice, breakfast was delicious. Would definitely stay again. Parking (free overnight) is only a couple minute walk away.

When going to bed we could hear the music from downstairs and conversations on the street, was a bit worried it would keep me up BUT NO had a wonderful night sleep, couldn’t hear a thing overnight.

The Talbot has its issues but it worked very well for our needs and I think its good value.

Breakfast was lovely, staff very friendly, great location, although not free parking was very close. Bar very nice and cosy with open fire place.

The hotel was under refurbishment which started at 7am and they turned our water off !! Taps didn't work, . Our heated towel rail didn't work, rooms were super cold. water from the room above the breakfast room was leaking water onto the table below. Its a very old property and rather draughty. The plaster in our room was pealing off. its fair to say the old place needs a bit of loving. But they seem to be addressing these issues.

A charming place with an exceptionally friendly staff

A charming medieval building friendly to all - including our fluffy baby. We arrived 30 minutes earlier and check-in was not a problem, we stayed in room 2 with it's uneven floor and low'ish ceilings but we loved it. I saw how hard Helen AND the team are working and they are doing a fantastic job. Helen going to to bed at 1am (Friday night/Sat morning) and getting up at 5/6am to serve guests breakfast at 8am (with her back-to-back is out of action because of motorbike accident). She and the team are amazing looking after guests in the pub and breakfast was superb with our fluffy baby getting a bit extra too :) Yes, the place might do with a bit of refurb but I honestly do not understand what people expect from an old Grade II building. It will have a few quirky features whilst modern things can be almost impossible to implement due to stringent regulations for listed buildings. Well done, Helen AND The Team for keeping this charmer going! Yes, there is Live Music (definitely on Friday's) so it's a personal choice if you support/enjoy it or not.

There is no carpark but if you park at St Katherine's it's £7 for 24 hours (Oct 2025) and a quick shortcut via Feather's Hotel (small passage opposite end of car park to entrance) - under a minute to get to and from Talbot.

Very comfortab stay at a pub with a lot of character close to the centre of this historic town.

Room was excellent - attractive and well equipped. Good breakfast in fabulous dining room!

It would have been helpful if you had explained clearly how to access the room when the pub was shut. We found our way in eventually but it was quite alarming when we arrived at the locked front door!

Comfortable stay with good food.

We have visited many times and once more we were not disappointed. Our room was lovely with a big comfortable bed. Very clean and we enjoyed the tea and biscuits. The shower room was very new. The breakfasts were varied and good. On Saturday night we enjoyed a meal in the jolly bar joining in with live music. The staff were all fantastic especially when I was taken ill. Thank you.

Staff friendly. Hotel has a homely feel. Breakfast was delicious. Right in the middle of Ledbury. Bed comfy.

Room was shabby but expected this as same as last time we stayed. As was the back garden/yard. Water very hot from tap. Had to use shower to wash hands. Hopefully, next time we stay the rooms at least will have been refurbished.

Quaint pub with rooms in centre of Ledbury.

Lovely old building in centre of Ledbury. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was delicious and in a beautiful old dining room.

Rooms are small with low beams and ceilings. We were unfortunately there in a heatwave and were incredibly hot even with the fans on. The staff did what they could but were limited by the age of the building and fire safety rules (windows only opened slightly).

Clean, centrally located pub hotel.

Location - Ledbury was a pretty, quaint and historic town with cobbled streets and old buildings full of character. The Talbot was conveniently located in the middle. The Talbot was clean and tidy and reasonably well facilitated with bottled water, fresh towels, liquid soap, bottled water, tea & coffee making facilities and a TV.

The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The carpet in my room was worn out in places and had become detached from the gripper in some places making it a potential trip hazard. The wooden window frames and window shelf were in a bad state of repair and have not been maintained. The paint had deteriorated to the point that the wood was rotting and exposed to the elements. It needs to be rubbed down, filled and given several coats of primer and an overcoat before it completely falls apart.

We stayed in room 5 directly above the front door, was noisy at pub closing time. Also old single pain glass windows so Zero sound proofing from the road outside.

Arrived Sunday 1430 had Sunday lunch only pork left All vegetables had been under cooked and not edible Waitress said she would get me some more But they never arrived The pork was nearly all fat so it was left On a plus side the roast potatoes were tasty The TV in the room was a very small model and it has to be noted that the batteries in the remote had nearly packed up so ended up watching a movie on my phone I had a early start Monday morning at 430am So was looking forward to my morning coffee as I wouldn't be having breakfast How wrong could I be all the coffee left in tray were DECAF So overall I was not impressed with the Talbot hotel Having spent some 20 years in the military To the man in charge on the day please note You need to smarten your self up the rest of the staff looked smart and clean unlike yourself

A good place to stay for a short break in Ledbury.

Nice hotel in a very convenient location. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. There was a good freshly cooked breakfast with both eggs Benedict and eggs royale as part of the offering which mt wife thoroughly enjoyed during our stay.

Although they supplied bottled water in the room I was surprised that the tap water was not drinking water.

Friendly, comfortable quirky hotel

Stayed her after a family wedding. Such a great place. Spacious rooms, massive beds, and the most adorable hotel dogs that met us at breakfast. Lovely owner, very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back at some point.

Perfect - Highly recommend

Very interesting old building plenty of history. Very friendly welcome with lovely easy check in .comfortable clean room with everything you need . Perfect location for shops pubs etc . Large Car park only 2 mins walk away. Lovely Breakfast. PERFECT. Would like to thank Tom especially who welcomed us checked us in and served us at breakfast he was very friendly and helpful . We will be back 👍
