Very friendly and helpful staff, clearly keen that guests should enjoy their stay. Very helpful with regard to meals. I have stayed at this hotel previously so both knew what to expect and chose to go again.

Nothing in particular. My stay included a Sunday night when the bar isn't open, but that is a very minor issue.

Our room was warm and comfortable. and as the pub was closed on Christmas Day, everything was very quiet. We had an excellent breakfast breakfast where the landlord went out of his way. Everything was cooked from scratch and excellent. With the added benefit of a beautiful presented fruit salad.

Self-checkin worked 100% on a Sunday evening, room ok comfy and warm. Central Lydney and handy for the Dean Forest Railway.

A desk / table to go with the chair would be a nice addition. Working on my laptop was a slight challenge.

First time in Lydney

The staff Chris and Jo were absolutely amazing, so friendly and welcoming, just couldn't do enough for us . The food was delicious both in the restaurant and the morning breakfasts. The room was cosy, fresh, and clean. The location was great for what we needed . The girls made our stay very relaxed and enjoyable will 100% return .

The staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful at all times. Room was lovely, bright and clean and all needs had been thought of.

Unfortunately, my husband found the stairs difficult (I hadn't realised how bad his mobility had become as we live in a bungalow). Also because of the choice of a twin room, we had the separate bathroom across the corridor, which was not very convenient at night, although, again, beautifully clean and provided everything we needed.

the staff were great good bar, the single room i was in was ok for what i wanted, in middle of town,,not that theres much to see there,,, the eve meal was superb would highly recommend, the breakfast was also superb, cant fault our overnight stay

room a little slall, but ok for the night. not a lot to see in the town, but stayed here as a stop over and not for the town, no garrantee of parking at back of hotel as we found out,a little noisey with the traffic

Lovely experience

Lovely room exceptionally clean. Bed, shower, toilet. Good breakfast lots of choice. Good car park at the back, free.

There was an electrical round thing on the ceiling. Probably something to do with a fire alarm. It had a light which in the night was focused on the bed by the pillow. I explained to the staff that maybe the bed or alarm could be moved. It was stopping me sleep as I like a dark room. The staff member said she would speak to the management.

The manager was lovely...very warm and hospitable. The room was clean and had everything necessary for a short stay. The two staff I met were really pleasant.

The hallway smelt really musty...but it is an aged building. Maybe a written guide as to eateries in the area.

Room decor and fittings a bit tired that could really do with fresh coat of paint and new carpets, entrance hallway a bit smelly, shower towels very small, room advertised as small but found to be smaller than expected with nowhere to put suitcases (kept tripping over cases) or hang coats

Comfortable room, no desk but no problem for 1 night. Seperate bathroom, don't forget your key during the night. Bathroom roomy enough for shower, shave etc. There is a hand sink in the room Didn't have dinner but breakfast freshly cooked, very tasty. Hotel is situated in the centre of Lydney close to restaurants, take aways and supermarkets. Very quiet night despite being on the high street. Will stay there again
