Stff we're friendly.

The bathroom light flickered, the stop of bathroom sink could not be removed and towel rail was rusty. I was told the bar closes at 11.30 pm, when I returned at 10.30 pm it was dark and when I asked reception i was told it was closed. There was no shampoo in the bathroom only bar of soap. Fosty smell from the carpets in the corridor. Exterior looked like the place was closed up.

A great moment before crossing river shannon !

People are very nice and friendly, helpfull. The hotel has a kind of magic and mix old fashion and modernity. I was with my wife and my 14 yo daughter and all of us really spent a great moment.

Eclectic hotel, great value and a 4 poster bed.

Such a lovely, warm welcome from all the staff. Most comfortable bed (4 poster) I've had in a long time. And the absolute best, authentic curry.... with a really good pint of Guinness. Eclectic mix of furnishings. Superb value. I'll definitely be back.

No toiletries in bathroom, but I brought my own, so wasn't a problem.

I won't be making a return visit.

It didn't feel like a guest hotel at all, and we were glad that we were only staying one night. Where do I start!! The bed was very uncomfortable. It was like it had been slept in by 2 people who slept either side of the bed. The 2 sides of the bed sagged more than the middle did and the duvet felt very heavy, like it had been used a lot. The curtain on the 4 poster bed in our bedroom looked grubby and was kept in place with random bits of different coloured ribbon, it would have been better if there was no curtain. The tiles in the bathroom were broken, but that was probably the least worst thing about the room. The room didn't feel that clean. On the hallway down to the bedroom, there was a side place just off the hallway where things like bed linen were being stored, and it didn't look very neat. The leisure center was a few machines, like a treadmill and rowing machine on the upstairs landing. There were falling down curtains in the dining room and there was a general sense that the place wasn't maintained. Breakfast choice wasn't great, it was hard to know what to eat to be honest. Previous reviews on the amount of religious statues in the reception area did not exaggerate. It just looked bizarre. We saw no other guests while we were there, so it felt very eerie and uncomfortable, not an enjoyable experience at all. The staff though were really nice and I do think that they want to do their best, but it's like they don't know how. The place would benefit from getting some help from an external consultant or just someone who could give the owners some advice as to how to run a hotel. Their intentions are good, but unfortunately their delivery wasn't.
