Everything was perfect!

Daily delicious breakfast... the pancakes are wow! The pool is amazing and such a nice place to work! The Stuff is super friendly and super helpful! The drinking water is for free and the Internet is super stable and super speed!

Exceeded expectations and would come back!

Room: our rooms was much bigger than we expected, high ceilings and a nice bed. We also had a mini fridge which was really helpful. the bathroom was quite small but that wasn’t a huge deal. The shower had hot water for the first 5 minutes and would then run cold so you had to be fast, but we knew this was the same across all places on the island. Facilities: there was an amazing pool which was perfect for a day of relaxing and had both sunny and shady loungers. Room facilities were good, mini fridge, dresser good AC and a kettle in the room was also handy. Location: was close to some small shops and a load of restaurants, bars and beach clubs which was nice, but was a 45+ minute walk to the port area. So you had to get a taxi to and from if you had heavy luggage. Staff: were amazing and helped us plan a west tour trio of the island which was really nice, they were super friendly and accommodating. They also served breakfast to you room at a time of your choosing which was a lovely touch. Speaking of the breakfast is was really yummy and a good range of options to choose from. The staff also helped with taxi service to and from the hotel when needed. Overall it was I’ve favourite stay on our month long trip around Bali and the islands and would definitely come back here!

Horrible and perfect cottages, take your pick.

Pool

They just built new cottages. They were not available when we visited Kukul. These new cottages look great and I would definitely visit them. We however stayed in the old cottages and they aren not more than eighties old school backpacker cottages. Hence its price. But still…….The cottages were badly maintained. Curtains fell off their rails, horrible bathrooms, meager breakfast. Make sure you get an new cottage, pay more and forget about the old once. Unless you are traveling on a shoestring.

Beautiful location, great staff, lovely bungalows.

The staff were very friendly and the location was great. We did the tour around the island which was quite touristy but that was to be expected and we got to see a lot of the well-known viewpoints on the island. The pool was really relaxing and tranquil and the breakfast was alright; they were happy to alter some of the options to accomodate our dietary restrictions (vegan).

The room and bathroom could have been cleaner. The bathroom was a little run down and there was more water leaking out of the shower handle than coming from the actual shower head.

A peaceful, relaxing, and cozy stay in a beautifully maintained property — would love to come back!

We booked two rooms at Kulkul Bungalow and were very happy with our stay. The property is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and has a very calming atmosphere. The pool was clean and inviting, and the overall quietness made it incredibly relaxing. While there’s no on-site restaurant, several dining options are just a short walk away — though we’d recommend carrying a torch at night, as the surrounding roads aren't well-lit. The room amenities were just what we needed, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Although there was a slight language barrier, Google Translate worked well and communication wasn’t a problem. Overall, it was a wonderful and cozy stay — I only wish we could’ve stayed longer!

The door locks felt a bit worn and didn’t close as securely as we’d have liked. That said, the area itself felt very safe, so it didn’t become a major concern during our stay.

Lush and quiet with helpful staff -- and great breakfasts

Lovely quiet place with a lush garden and pool. Helpful staff. Great breakfasts. I enjoyed my time here and would come again. I stayed here through Nyepi, the silent day, so wi-fi was off, no outside lights or carrying on -- but that was all made clear beforehand and the power and electricity stayed on and the staff could not have been more helpful.

Can't think of anything that rubbed me up the wrong way. What's not to like? Lovely, relaxing place.

Clean, quiet and comfortable a short ride (or a moderate stroll) from the main drag and beach.

Peace and quiet, far from the madding crowd - but not too far! I liked the chickens roaming in the garden, the pool and the bar fridge. Stayed here during Nyepi and the staff were very accommodating with plenty of forewarning about what to expect on this silent day of reflection.

I could not extend my stay via the Booking.com app as it showed the rooms was not available when it clearly was. Spoke to the staff who sorted this out.

The best bungalow for backpacker

Beautiful Hut. Comfy bed, good shower, and wifi, also we can't believe that for such a price, we get housekeeping every day. Thank you Puti! All staff members are super friendly and they help us to get a taxi to go to the harbor. Free drinking water help us a lot too.

Lovely place to stay while exploring the island. Great staff.

Breakfast was always delicious and very convenient. Simply placed on the table on the terrace at the time you requested and left for you to get around to. It didn't feel like an obligation in the morning. Staff were all very friendly and super easy going. We enquired about the morning snorkelling fairly late at night and when we expressed interest in doing it the next morning, they simply told us the time we'd need to leave and organised it for us. Laundry services were cheap and fairly quick. All folded nicely and packaged for you.

The bathrooms have a tendency to have a few mosquitoes, but for us they didn't infiltrate into the bedroom, which was a relief.

Our stay at Kulkul Bungalow was absolutely fantastic! The location is beautiful, surrounded by a lot of trees. The bungalows are very cozy and clean. There is a pool also if you want to take a swim or just chill. They also provide a scooter rental. The staff is wonderful, they made us feel very welcomed and they were always available. You are the best and we thank you so much for everything 🙏🏻 Their dog is adorable and he really loves to play with you! We highly recommend this place! We miss it already and surely would come back on our next visit to Nusa Penida.

the accommodation was poorly built, facilities were really poor and the rest of the park was a construction site. we booking for 3 nights but left after 1 night. the way these bungalows are depicted are far from reality; I would advise to alter this

Would not recommend

The location is good, close to the beach and some really nice and beautiful places to eat. AC worked well.

We booked for 4 nights, but left after the first. Room is very outdated, grounds don't look very well maintained, even some partially constructed Bungalows right in front of the door. The room was basic, as could be expected for the price, but all wall panels had big gaps between them, TV was just gone, power socket was hanging out of the wall, closet was falling apart and there were many dead mosquitos lying around when we arrived. Sheets were ripped and no mosquito net to protect yourself. Had a bad night with lots of noise from animals which seems to come from in the walls/ceiling, making us feel very uncomfortable. Unlike some reviews, staff was not very friendly, we were just dropped off at the room with no instructions or info of any kind. Also felt like the room wasn't cleaned that well, as there were still old soaps laying around in the small windows in the shower.

It's a nice quiet place (although not always in de morning because of the chickens but that didn't bother us). Room was clean, good AC, warm water, you can order breakfast at your bungalow and the staff and Indonesian owner are very friendly. Transfer from/back to the harbour is possible. You can rent a scooter. Good place for a good price!

The water tap from the sink in de bathroom didn't work properly. There was no water in de pool but the webpage of booking.com didn't say there was a pool so that's our mistake.

We left Kulkul bungelows without staying the night. The photos do not match the reality. The bungelow is really old. There is no pool, and everything is under construction. the location is quite isolated which doesn’t feel comfortable in the evening. Only young boys with loud music and no one around from kulkul bungelows to stay at night. We left and went to another hotel. I would recommend not to book here, most importantly if you are a girl/ girls travelling alone.

Location was near some nice restaurants and the staff was very friendly.

Rooms are a bit outdated and old. Could use some renovation, the bungalows have a lot of spaces between doors/walls and this allows bugs to come in. The mosquito net around the bed had holes in it and doesn’t really keep them out (a gecko fell on my pillow at night). The shower had a minimal water stream coming out, but was manageable to take a good shower. There are a lot of roosters running through the garden making a lot of noise (also during the night). Even though location is near some nice restaurants, it is a little less central with regards to all of the cool landmarks, meaning everything is always a +40 minute scooter drive. Doing that more than once a day can become quite a lot of sitting on the scooter (although the views you get are also well worth it).

Super bazén. Ticho, upravená zahrada, snídaně byla v pořádku. Lednička a klimatizace, rychlovarná konvice, káva čaj na pokoji, pitná voda na recepci zdarma.

Starší bungalovy, potřebovali by rekonstrukcí, minimálně koupelna, ta byla slabší, plíseň a zapáchala, špinavé umyvadlo a zrcadlo, nikdo to nikdy neumyl podle mě.

Personnel super gentils, disponibles pour aider, location de scooter sur place possible. Petit déjeuner au choix chaque matin livré dans la chambre, très bon. La chambre est refaite chaque jour. Hermosos bowngalos , muy cómodos y espaciosos. Camas cómodas. Limpio. Hay agua caliente. Nevera en la habitación y calentador de agua. Sirven el desayuno en la habitación, hay 5 opciones para elegir. Estás rodeado de naturaleza, y la piscina es hermosa !! La ubicación es perfecta, estás a 5 min caminando de la playa y varios bares y restaurantes para comer.

Bellissimo posto immerso nella natura

La posizione e la piscina sono eccezionali. Mi è piaciuto molto l'ambiente, nella tranquillità della natura. Semplice colazione portata al tuo bungalow all'orario preferito.

La pulizia generale potrebbe essere migliorata. Anche la colazione è un po' scarsa, però buona. Presenti insetti fuori dai bungalow, che potrebbero facilmente entrare da qualche apertura.

Mooi zwembad. Bungalows met eigen terras liggend in een mooie tuin.

Sommige bungalows zijn aan een opknapbeurt toe. De onze was verouderd. Maar prima kijkend naar prijs-kwaliteit.

Les fenêtres dans la salle de bains (chambre 1) n’ont pas de filets, il y a donc plusieurs gros cafards qui sont rentrés. La salle de bain n’est pas sale mais n’est pas propre non plus (beaucoup de calcaire partout) Il y avait des toiles d’araignée sur les bord des lits (au dessus de la tête vu que j’étais sur le lit du bas)
