So worth it… I’ll be coming back here for sure!

Staff were amazing, and the place was so beautiful. Location you definitely need to rent a scooter to go anywhere (need a bike to get anywhere on the island no matter where you stay) but you can get one through them. Breakfast was simple but good. Pool was amazing and best value for money. Other reviews I read talked about the lights in the garden don’t worry about that if you close the blinds they are black out so no light comes through. They are currently building an extension of their hotel but I never heard any construction (I’m a light sleeper). Yet staff provided ear plugs just in case but we didn’t even need to use them.

Excellent and wonderful time at Sawit Garden Cottages

BEST PLACE TO STAY I NUSA PENIDA HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We were supposed to stay for 2 nights and ended up staying 4 night because we loved it so much. Sawit Garden Cottages is an excellent place to stay. The place and the rooms are beautiful, very clean, the AC works, the wifi works and the bathroom is spotless. The owner and the staff are incredibly helpful and kind, always there to answer any questions we had. There’s a beautiful pool we swam in multiple times a day. We had an excellent time at Sawit Garden Cottages and highly recommend anyone to stay here, you will have a wonderful and relaxing time.

Best place, best hotel, best owner

It's one of the best places I've stayed in Bali, if not the best. The hotel's gardens are heavenly and cozy. Also romantic, if that's what you're looking for. The villas/rooms are dreamy. The mattress is incredibly comfortable, one of the best beds I've ever had. But the best of all is that Leonik, the owner, provides top-notch service. He's always ready to help if you need any assistance or have any problems with anything. He saved us by warning us about the mistake we made returning from the island on the fast boat. The only reason I don't give it more points is because it's not possible :)

Overall disappointing

the bedroom was very spacious with a comfortable large bed, which we appreciated.

Several factors made our stay disappointing. The host's communication was slow, making pre-arrival planning frustrating. The location is not ideal for those without their own transport, leaving you dependent on costly rides. The general facilities, including the swimming pool, are quite basic. The breakfast was a particular low point, with a poor selection and unappetizing food. Given these issues, we felt the property is overpriced compared to other options available on the island.

Okay stay in Nusa Penida, could do with some improvement

Pool is nice and warm, breakfast totally fine, location with scooter very good.

When we arrived, the owner informed us about a 3% surcharge if we want to pay by card - while this is normal in Restaurants in Indonesia, we’ve never before seen that in a hotel here; as hotels generally - and this one in particular - are not on the cheap side of things, the 3% are not negligible. It was also the first hotel (out of 7 in Indonesia) where there was no free drinking water in the room; towels weren‘t always changed when on the floor and when we asked the hotel staff to make a reservation for us at the almost neighbouring Amarta Penida Restaurant, she told us that her boss said that they don‘t take reservations - when we arrived there for dinner, the first thing they asked was whether we had a reservation… All in all, it doesn‘t deserve the reviews it has, but also was fair enough. Solid 7.0.

Sawit cottages was such value for money, the bedrooms were super clean and spacious for the price you pay and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

The location was out of the way and you needed taxis to get anywhere.

Fantastic accommodation would highly recommend. Very helpful staff. More of jungle type area than some of the beach areas (which is what i prefer). Some good restaurant options nearby. Really helpful staff.

Great place to relax and unwind

Pros: This place is absolutely worth every penny spent. Prompt replies from the management, helpful staff, nice clean room. Located at a quiet and quaint location. The scooter rented was in good condition. Limited option for breakfast but manageable. Cons: The breakfast area had loads of flies which could have been prevented had they put a ceiling fan or something. Also, the main manager was friendly but not helpful out of his way.

Amazing place to rest

Very calm, nice garden with great pool and lounge chairs. Convenient and good breakfast. Very clean, spacious and comfortable rooms. We recommend renting a scooter if you are used to driving them. The roads are very narrow, in bad condition and lots of traffic (taxi/tours) during the day. Some small shops and restaurants are available at walking distance. Amazing staff

Brilliant spot for great value

Leon was fantastic and so helpful. He got us a bike straight away and kindly picked us and our friends (who were staying at another hotel) and brought us to the port. The rooms was spotless and the bed very comfy.

Rooms were perfect, very modern and comfortable. Lovely breakfast in the morning. The real highlight was how accommodating the staff were, particularly Leon who went above and beyond to help us during our stay - picking us up from the ferry and recommending lovely restaurants. It’s a bargain for the price and so quiet and peaceful!

Beautiful peaceful paradise with wonderful staff, will definitely be going back but for longer next time!

The villas were absolutely beautiful and well appointed. The bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve had the pleasure of sleeping in whilst in Bali and there was a real quilt (not just a sheet) too which was wonderful. The garden and setting is so beautiful and peaceful. Pool was lovely and it was nice to have day beds to lounge on. Leonk was extremely helpful and had a scooter available for me as soon as I checked in. Room will be cleaned each day.. if you wish. Beautiful place to stay.. short scooter ride to harbour, Crystal Bay, Gamat Bay and Penida gates. Only wished there were more days available.

This was one of the best stays in our entire trip to Indonesia. The hosts were by far the most friendly we had during our 3-week trip. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. There's a nice pool outside, too. There's a small restaurant in the villa where we had a good breakfast and dinner for a very reasonable price. They also arranged a tour for us to visit multiple places on the island. The laundry service was super fast and cheap. The owner even took us to a nearby sunset viewpoint with a bar which was probably one of the best views on the entire island. During that same night, there was a power outage across the entire island and he even came to pick us up. 10/10 highly recommend

The location was great a little bit off the main road and village to be really quiet and access easily the west coast points of interest. Leonk was great and made our stay so pleasant and stress free.

It seems to be a Balinese specialty but you need to be prepared to be awake at 5 with the roasters.

A slice of paradise in the back blocks.

The staff were great, especially Mr Fix-it Leonk. Because Sawit is a little oasis in the back blocks, Leonk offered a shuttle service for no fee to nearby restaurants, especially Amarta sunset lounge, a real highlight.

No complaints about anything. It is a perfect place to relax before charging off into the chaotic traffic that is often the case on Penida. Leonk organised everything including car trips, and ferry tickets.

Best accomodation

Generally speaking, Nusa Penida really deserves a stay, so consider spending as much time as possible on the island. Sawit Garden was the best accommodation both for the position (close to the port linking to Bali and to the restaurants area of the island, and strategic to every attraction we wished to visit), and for the place per se (clean and very comfortable). The absolute pro of the stay was Leonk, whose availability has been a real plus: he gave precious advice on restaurants, organized our boat trip, and promptly assisted every time we needed. We already recommended Sawit Garden to our friends coming to Nusa Penida over the next months, so I really recommend it to everyone.
