The rooms were a good size, very comfortable bed and pillows, we had a gorgeous view of the birds and the squirrels. Breakfast was delicious even after having to deal with a power cut!
As a cat lover, there was a lovely black cat in the lounge who was very friendly. The hosts were great and communicated issues such as the power cut and any updates.
It was just a short to Ballater when we went for food in the evening. Car park spaces available and though we didn't use it there were tea and coffee facilities available to use too.
In terms of the continental spread, they had jams, toast to order, cereals, Greek yoghurt pots, fruit and lots of juices available! We were really impressed and thought it was very good!
Our hot breakfast was delicious and you get a menu card to fill out with your options for the next day.
It was a bit noisy outside the room at night and as our room was directly in front of the stairs, you can hear all the comings and goings. But that is a minor thing and I we had an early bed so you can't fault people moving around after a certain time.

Lovely dining room overlooking a multitude of birds feeding in the hedges. The food was well prepared and served deliciously warm. Our room was grand, well planned and stocked with attentive care and detail. The best detail was Nibbles, a discerning feline who makes anyone inclined, his honored and smitten minion.
The only improvement is that we should have stayed longer! Our hostess and staff were welcoming and engaging, we enjoyed our conversations which were all too few.

From start to finish we had a great stay. A lovely warm welcome from the owner, a comfortable sleep in an immaculate room and a tasty breakfast before departure. The perfect short stay. We will return to this lovely property in the future.
