The owner Gunter and his lovely wife offered excellent service, going above and beyond with service, advice, recommendations and assistance. The property is quirky & exceptionally finished with amazing decor. Each room has a different unique style. The hallways and entrance are all dressed with chic home decor where every piece is for sale, including some of the furniture and fixtures in your room. We absolutely loved our stay here and would highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast in Au, a beautiful location near Zurich.

A beautiful place inside and out! The rooms are comfortable and beautifully curated. Gunter and the staff are the kindest, most helpful and friendly people! A gorgeous stroll to the lake is right across the street as well as the train station

Superb and unusual experience!

Co-Owner and receptionist were super helpfull, diligent and put a mini fridge in my room. The hotel is small, but full of very nice artwork. Exceptional room and breakfast room design, that you wont find even in 5 star hotels. Opposite of trainstation and Aldi and Halbinsel Au Park. Room towards garden with bird chirping and no noise. Sea road like dead during evening/night. Enough free parking right infront. In short: much better than expected and how it looks from outside.

The staff and hosts were extremely accommodating

Very well presented and organised.and extremely clean. Beautifully decorated to a very high standard. The hosts go above and beyond for any particular special needs. They were very welcoming apon arrival. And fun and friendly I really enjoyed my stay .

Quirky great accomodation

Great quirky accommodation, very spacious, clean and very homely. great for traveling with adult children without the need to purchase a second room. Arne was very helpful and obliging. Great place to stay when you have a rental car, parking on the premises made it very easy.

The property was a little out of town, which wasn’t a bother to us as we had a rental vehicle, if you don’t have a vehicle do your research as to what you plan to do whilst in Zurich.

Unusual B&B

The staff. Loved chatting with Sven, Arne and especially Miriam. Everyone loved sharing their stories with us and made us feel like old friends.

The distance from Zurich city. But the trains were excellent.

Superb

We stayed in the Coco Chanel room, each room is themed and the furnishings are styled to the theme. The room was large and stylish (furnishing are all from the concept store which is spread over the first two floors of the hotel), the bed and pillows were very comfortable, the bathroom very nicely designed. The parking was easy and with plenty of connections into Zürich (train station right across the road, buses also available too). Even though it is located by a large road and train station, it was relatively quiet duringnth evenings. Great place to stay if you need to be in the Horgen/Wädenswil area.

Shower drainage wasn't great but that was only minor.

Nice stay

I liked the room really much and the terrace was a nice bonus. Clean room. No minibar but the manager was super nice and provided me a small fridge, so many thanks! If you look for something not so traditional, this is the place!

Clean, spacious and comfortable

The room we had booked was comfortable and spacious. The artsy decor of both the room and the whole building was a unique touch as well. There was an issue with the wifi during the time of our stay, which was essential in contacting our family we were visiting, but the host was very helpful in trying to fix this, even very late at night. He offered us complimentary breakfast in addition, which we very much enjoyed and appreciated the gesture. If looking for a place to stay in Au, definitely recommend it!

Loved our stay at No.1 Art B & B!

A quirky place with lots of charm. A superb breakfast served each morning. Hot meal made to request. Friendly owners who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and made us feel at home. Room was quiet, beautifully decorated, high ceilings & spacious for 3 people. Supermarket, train station, buses at the door step. Easy walk to and alongside the lake.

It was great we had a lift inside the building to access our room and dining room and a walkin shower. Unfortunately, there are about 5 steps to enter the building. We managed but this would limit people unable to use stairs.

We had a very good time there. Comfy room and pleasant art gallery right outside the room, has a nice shop and a coffee bar too! Staff are very warm & helpful. Au ZH is beautiful, and the hotel is just few mins walk to the Au peninsula.

Fully met / exceeded my expecations for a B&B

Extremely comfortable bed. Portable airconditioner in the room made all the difference in the very hot, humid weather. Excellent breakfast, cooked and served by the owner, with a superb view across to the vineyards on the hill.

Pleasant

The staff was super friendly and helpful. They accommodated my breakfast time requirement as I had constraints (got breakfast much earlier than normal). They went the extra mile to make my stay as good as possible!

The hotel rooms are advertised to be equipped with air conditioning, but they are equipped with fans. As the temperature had been quite high in the last few days, my room was quite hot when I checked in. I was lucky it cooled down and good get air thanks to the huge windows.
