A top stay, perfect location with great bar restaurant on site a stone's throw from lake Zürich

I needed to be in Wädenswil for personal meetings, so the location - literally "am Bahnhoff" - was perfect. For those not used to trains, the proximity of the train line and noise might anoy some people, but otherwise it goes with the territory given the location and honestly where I live in CH I'm quite used to it and it added to "the charm" - midsummer view from the window over the train station onto the lake with sunset light on the east Zürich shoreline - put your feet up at the bar/ restaurant downstairs and soak it up. Speaking of which, the bar restaurant has super views of the lake, the staff are very friendly and professional and the breakfast was tip-top -- I would 100% stay here again in future.

the hotel is right adjacent to the local train station, with it accompanying noise. without airco the windows need to stay open, and the train noise was overbearing at times.

Modern and clean rooms

Very close to the train station, friendly personell, very clean rooms.

For breakfast they brought meat without asking whether I want it. As a vegetarian i didn’t want to eat it and can only hope that they didn’t throw it away. The light in the hallway is on all night. There is some space between the room door and the floor where the light shines through. That was disturbing during the night.

Great hotel and highly recommended

Stay and breakfast ideal and having stayed at this hotel over a number of times now it never fails. Whilst a little outside of Zurich for anyone needing to be in Zurich trains are easy and you can get into the Centre in 20 minutes max.

No sleep because of noise from bar downstairs.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and had a nice view of the lake over the tracks.

We were prepared for the noise of the trains, which was fine, but the very loud Halloween party in the bar downstairs on Saturday night meant we hardly got any sleep. Even with earplugs, it was impossible and just got louder as the night went on. It spoiled our trip.

Zuvorkommender Service in schönem Hotel direkt am See!

Ideale Lage am Bahnhof und direkt am See, Parkplatz direkt am Haus erhalten, sehr freundliches Personal, Zimmer gut ausgestattet, bequeme Betten und sauberes, neues Badezimmer. Frühstück mit abgepackten Produkten, aber freundliche Bewirtung und Wünsche werden erfüllt. Trotz lebhafter Umgebung ruhiger Schlaf möglich. Alles in allem also sehr zu empfehlen.

Kein Aufzug, aber darüber wird man im Vorfeld informiert, so dass man ein kleines Gepäck mitnehmen kann. Frühstücksbuffet wäre schöner. Ansonsten aber alles gut.

Erwartungen übertroffen, schönstes Hotelzimmer der letzten Jahre

Ein absolut wunderschönes Zimmer mit Seeblick, perfekt eingerichtet, komfortabel, sehr sauber, nettes Personal und ein serviertes, vielfältiges Frühstück. Die Lage direkt am Bahnhof ist sehr praktisch.

Zwangsläufig ist die Nacht etwas laut, da es direkt am Bahnhof liegt, aber wenn man die Fenster zumacht, ist es kaum hörbar. Ich hatte die Fenster nachts offen, das Hotel legt Ohrenstöpsel bereit. Man weiss das ja, wenn man bucht...

Wir kommen trotzdem gern wieder

Sehr sauberes Hotel mit sehr freundlicher Rezeptionsdame. Das Frühstück war ordentlich, der Ober sehr freundlich. Die Nähe zum Bahnhof war optimal,

Leider kein Fahrstuhl zum 3.Stock, ich glaube auch zum 4.Stock nicht. Die Lage oberhalb des Bahnhofes ließ doch den Lärm der Züge bis spät in die Nacht und früh am Morgen sehr unangenehm erscheinen.

Kurz, knackig, da ich als DJ bei einem Videodreh dabei war.

Frühstück sehr passend, für mich persönlich zuviel. Zimmer war OK. Im Sommer wäre eine Klimaanlage sicherlich von Vorteil, die hat mir persönlich gefehlt. Sonst sehr netter Service. Restaurant sehr sauber und zusätzlich direkt am See auch eines vertreten.

Das Hotel verfügt über keine Klimaanlage. Im Sommer etwas stickig und sehr warm im Zimmer. Bei offenen Fenster hört man die Leute von der näheren Bar singen, etwas unangenehm wenn man seine Ruhe möchte.

Gut Bürgerliches in Herzenswärme verpackt.

Sehr feines Frühstück. Sehr netter Service. Freundliches Personal von der Receptionistin zur Servicefachkraft bis hin zur Puzfrau: topp! Den Sonnenaufgang am Züri-See am Fenster live geniessen zu können!

Das Ohropax. Ich empfehle auch solche aus Wachs aufs Nachtischen zu legen, das macht Sinn für die kleinen Gehöhrgänge:-)!) - Der Zugverkehr und der Barbetrieb am Samstagabend haben das mitgebrachte Ohropax aus Wax wirklich nötig gemacht.

Schechtes Zimmer, ausser Ärger und Spesen nichts gewesen

Die Lage in Bahnhofs-Nähe.

Ich wurde im obersten Stock einquartiert und dafür musste ich 6 Treppen hochsteigen (Meine Hüft-Arthrose lässt grüssen). Der Teppichboden im Zimmer war fleckig und teilweise ausgerissen. Die Nachttischlampen funktionierten nicht. Lediglich 2 leere Gläser, aber kein Mineralwasser zur Begrüssung. Bei diesem stolzen Übernachtungs-Preis ein Affront. Der Lärm von der unter liegenden Bar war extrem lästig. Bei meiner Ankunft um 18:15 war die Réception nicht besetzt und auch nicht bei meiner Abreise um 07:00. Von einem Frühstück keine Spur. Dafür erhilet ich von booking.com die folgende Nachricht: *********************************************************************************************** die Unterkunft Hotel Engel am Bahnhof hat uns mitgeteilt, dass Sie sich während Ihres Aufenthalts dort nicht an deren Richtlinien gehalten haben. *********************************************************************************************** Dies ist an Frechheit wirklich nicht zu überbieten.
