We often walked to the other side of the bay as it has sun loungers which are free to use and calmer water to snorkel but it’s not far to get to. I didn’t realise how walkable everything was here - easy to get into the town or up to sunset view although we did hire a scooter from a place a few days down to get around for a few days

I missed having a lamp and a kettle - although I did ask for hot water a few evenings and was no problem for them Doors are hard to lock but it’s in a homestay and does feel really safe

We loved staying at Sunrise Cafe, the view was beautiful, the beds were comfortable and had a big mozzie net, Nyoman was a fantastic host and his family cooked us so much amazing food. They had lovely pets and many many wonderful bonsai trees. We did the fishing and snorkelling trip with Nyoman, it was great value for money and we saw lots of fish, coral, turtles, rays and even a baby white tip reef shark. Sunrise wasn’t a fancy place but an authentic home stay that made us feel welcome and at home in Amed.

The place is famous for catching the breathtaking sunrise right out of your bed or spacious balcony, and it's truly stunning. Very comfy bed with moskito net and functioning AC, which is necessary in the heat.

The bathroom was just ok with a rather dodgy mat. It is a tiny room, especially for Bali's generous standards. The owners should consider providing accessible water refills for guests, payable if necessary - it's only 25k for 20 litres! I got some but had to buy extra plastic bottles.

the most necessary things like a bed, shower, toilett were there. oceanview from the room and friendly owning family.

no cleaning during 4 nights. no soap, no trashbin inside the room. not very clean.
