Wouldn’t come back again

The outdoor space and the patios are nice. The staffs are friendly and kind.

It seems that most of the workers are volunteers. I wonder how many have contributed to the good reviews. There was no hot showers, only cold water. My room’s toilet was so close to the wall that my knees dig into the wall when I tried using the toilet, it was uncomfortable. Even though the checkout time is at noon, someone came to my room at 10:20 AM, took all the towels and stripped the bed and pillow case. That was super weird and I ended up having to leave early because I got nowhere clean to sit. There was also people talking loudly at 4AM in the kitchen, the walls are thin so you could hear everything.

Beautiful people, beautiful spaces, buena onda

I had the best time at Puerto Dreams. I stayed as a solo traveller but was not alone for long, this place oozes with community and everybody is included. It is very magical. The bed was very comfortable and I love that there were curtains for some privacy. The kitchens are a good hangout spot and well equipped, and I loooved the coffee that the café connected to this hostel serves. Lavandería is right next to the hostel, a beautiful, bustling local market right around the corner - the list on why I keep coming back to this place is too long for one review, but trust me when I say you will have the best time staying here in the local centre, where you actually feel like you're in México and not just some anonymous tourist beach town,and so you should definitely come.

Okay but wouldn’t stay again

Sociable hostel, the volunteers and people were very friendly and nice. They did everything they could to help us when we arrived and our window lock was broken they fixed this for us. The coffee place is really good- very nice coffee. Rooftop is nice and communal kitchen is decent but not much cutlery and it isn’t kept fully clean by other guests.

Bedroom very basic. The bathroom was small and also had the most disgusting smell from the drains / sink, that actually made me vomit the smell was so bad… we did tell them and they did clean it but then it quickly came back the day after. We also found overall this place is very overpriced for what you get, but it was new year season.

Stay here if you want to feel like family

Its called puerto dreams because staying here is really like a dream. The cleaning staff do an amazing job keeping up with the amount of people coming through, the volunteers are always eager to help with anything you have questions about, and overall you will be treated like family here. The atmosphere at this hostel is really beautiful and I will recommend it to anyone coming to stay in puerto escondido. The location is perfect for getting a more local experience, and if I ever wanted to go to la punta for more touristy vibes it was super easy to catch a collectivo or a taxi right outside the hostel. Overall this place felt like a piece of home and I hope to come back again and again :)

Run down and in a bad location

For your own sake, please don’t stay at this hostel, we had a genuinely terrible experience. First, the location is not good. The hostel is a 20-minute drive from La Punta, where all the bars, restaurants, and activities are. There’s no Uber here, so every trip costs at least £5 and it can take a while to find a taxi. Because of the distance, the hostel isn’t social at all, and it’s difficult to meet or go out with other travellers. Second, the hostel itself is very run down. The bed I was given had no curtains, and the wooden frame was wobbly and broken. A volunteer even told me the bed had snapped the week before and they were still waiting for someone to fix it, so why charge someone to sleep in it? The top bunks also have no plug points so I had to rely on using my friend’s because she had a bottom bunk, but if I was solo travelling, I would not have had access to one at all. The rooms are also extremely dark and dingy, it was hard to see even during the day. The lockers are too small for a backpack, only fitting a few small items, and there is no hot water in the bathrooms. The AC does not get turned on until 10pm so it is really hot during the day. The kitchen, despite being advertised as a facility, is barely usable. There were no mugs, only one pan, and almost no utensils. Our food bag, with about £15 (400 pesos) worth of food, was stolen from the kitchen, and when we told the volunteers, they simply said there was nothing they could do despite the fact that it was labels and left in the right location. The sink was constantly overflowing with dirty dishes because no one enforced cleaning rules. When there’s only one pan available, this becomes especially gross. On our last day, we used the laundry service recommended by the hostel — Lavandería Jacarandas, which is owned by the same owner. They completely ruined our clothes with bleach. This is really upsetting as a backpacker with only few clothes and with sensitive skin!

My stay was so good I had to extend 1 extra day. everyone was so helpful and welcoming

This place was incredible, I was solo traveling and from the second I checked in the staff was very welcoming - even the people who were staying there as well. it felt like I just walked into someone’s home. Karla and Joana were amazing and always helpful with any questions, tips, recommendations and even showing me around the center, Paulo at the cafe was always in a good mood and making amazing cortado for me. everyone who I didn’t name was also great.

Amazing stay in Puerto!

This hostel is amazing! It is in a great location in the center of Puerto and allows you to really be immersed in local life. Only a 15 minute walk away from beautiful beaches. The staff are super friendly and run fun activities, they make you feel at home straight away. Rooms were very clean and well kept. Couldn't recommend this place more. Going to miss it :(

Good vibes, awesome place and amazing coffee

The vibe is very chill, they’ve got everything you need. Puerto Dreams even has a specialty coffee in house which is very good. Staff is friendly and the rooftop plus bar is very nice. Recommend joining salsa nights, but all activities as usually well organized. Would definitely come back 😃

The location is in Centro, I actually really liked it because you are not in the party area. I prefer to go there, which is really easy with a collectivo, but for some it might be a little farther away.

Never want to leave

Puerto Dreams is the best hostel I have ever stayed at. The team welcomes you into the family and the hostel becomes your home. They have an amazing cleaning staff who keep everything in top order. Attracts the best people made so many great friends and the location is perfect allowing you to see all sides of Puerto Escondido. 1000% recommend. :)

Great comfortable and affordable stay with great social atmosphere.

Room was so comfortable and the facilities were great. Location was great as I was near Carrazillo beach, It is one of several locations I’ve stayed in Puerto and it is easily the best for location, facilities and atmosphere. Stayed in a comfortable private room and the volunteers made me feel so welcomed, shoutout to Joanna, Natalia, Mario, Fritz, Danny, Karina, Emily and Wario. The atmosphere is social but is just right and they have daily activities were I went on a sunset hike one night and salsa night the next

This hostel is a hidden gem! The staff is incredibly friendly, creating a welcoming vibe. Perfectly located for savoring local cuisine (bring cash!), the ambiance is super chill. I really liked puerto dreams hostel because it has an unique location in downtown, which is a very local zone where you can find the best local experience. Besides the staff is really helpful and show you around cool places, they have really great activities. They have really nice cowork area, very unique with a few beautiful artwork on the walls. INCREÍBLE, regresaría mil veces

Es un ambiente tranquilo y al mismo te puedes divertir dentro del hostal, los preparados de autor que tienen en el bar están muy ricos por cierto, las habitaciones muy cómodas y el chocolate de la cafetería definitivamente fue mi favorito. El staff general y de limpieza siempre muy amables con disposición de ayudarte en cualquier cosa que necesites, muy amables las chicas, al igual que las voluntarias, en especial Ileen. Es fácil y rápido moverte a las playas usando los colectivos o algunas veces caminando, mejor que irse en taxi, respecto a la ubicación del hostal me parece excelente tienes todo a la mano pues está en una zona céntrica y tienes el mercado a la vuelta y también tienes la oportunidad de conocer la parte local de Puerto Escondido. Amé y disfruté cada uno de los días que estuve ahí, te llevas muchísimas amistades y experiencias inolvidables!! 20/10🫶🏼

La cocina un poco descuidada: no había tazas ni vasos de vidrio, exceso de plásticos, tampoco papel tipo toalla de papel para secarse las manos y tampoco servilletas disponibles. Lo demás, bien. Una de las noches, ruido durante la noche.

Me encantó mi estancia en puerto dreams, todo es un 10/10! el staff y los voluntarios siempre te hacen sentir como en casa. las instalaciones y la ubicación me fascinaron, está en el centro de puerto, cerca de todo lo que puedas necesitar y muy cerca de las playas más conocidas. Me gustó muchísimo que sea un hostal con valores sustentables y realmente comprometido con el cuidado del medio ambiente; esa vibra linda se siente en todo momento. las actividades organizadas y hosteadas por los voluntarios son un súper plus, porque te permiten conocer a muchísima gente y conectar con personas de diferentes partes del mundo. El café y el bar tienen bebidas deliciosas, y el roof fue mi parte favorita, durante el día es un espacio muy tranquilo y por las noches se vuelve perfecto para socializar y pasarla bien. Sin duda un lugar perfecto para quedarte en puerto!

Hospedarme en HOSTAL Puerto Dreams en el centro de Puerto Escondido fue una experiencia que va mucho más allá de solo dormir en un buen lugar. La vibra del espacio y del personal es increíble y muy auténtica. El staff (los voluntarios) logra crear una convivencia natural con una actitud de paz pero al mismo tiempo con una energía alegre que te invita a socializar y sentirte parte de la comunidad desde el primer día. Su ubicación en el centro es ideal no solo por la comodidad sino porque impulsa el consumo local y te conecta con la vida real del puerto. Además está muy cerca (caminado) de playas donde realmente puedes nadar como Manzanillo Angelito y Carrizalillo y Coral. Las bicicletas gratuitas hacen que moverte sea fácil y ligero. Ame las actividades que tienen (son diarias y distintas) te incluyen de una manera muy cálida y sobretodo a conocer nuevos lugares de PXM, fuera de lo cotidiano o de lo que sale en TikTok La manera tan sencilla de trasladarte en colectivo a las zonas más populares (segun TikTok) como la punta zicatela o zicatela es increíble, no tardas demasiado, incluso caminando pero eso ya es dependiendo la persona Algo que valoro mucho es que tienen muy buen internet, lo cual hace posible trabajar o estudiar sin problema, y que además son un espacio sustentable, consciente de su impacto y de la forma en la que habita el entorno. El Café Escondido es otro gran plus. El café y el chocolate son deliciosos y la calidad se nota en cada bebida, cada alimento y wow el pan (PRUEBA EL ROL DE CANELA CALIENTITO) . Paulo el barista tiene una vibra única que hace que cada visita sea especial. Me quedé en una h.Privada y me encantó. Es una habitación cómoda limpia amplia y fresca perfecta para descansar. Puerto Dreams es un lugar que te recibe te conecta y te invita a vivir Puerto Escondido de una forma auténtica. TE AMOOOOO HOSTAL PUERTO DREAMS (doña Mary, emi, Dalila, doña Nelly, ivy, kiki, etc)

El mejor hostal de Puerto

Fue el hostal perfecto para conocer el verdadero Puerto Escondido, la ubicación es excelente paea conocer la cultura local, tiene muchos restaurantes tiendas, mercados y cosas que hacer alrededor y hay playas a menos de 20 minutos caminando. Las habitaciones son amplias, bien iluminadas y frescas, camas super comodas además tienen un estilo único que combina con los alrededores. El internet esta buenísimo para hacer coworking. El café esta muy rico y los bartenders te hacen drinks sin alcohol también. Ademas de todo eso, me gustó que tienen muchos proyectos de acción social dentro del hostal. El staff y voluntarios son increíbles, organizaron actividades todos los dias, me invitaron a todos sus planes y salidas para conocer Puerto Escondido. Siempre dispuestos a ayudar y te tratan como su mejor amiga desde el primer momento! 10/10 Si quieren tener una experiencia increíble, llena de gente nueva, diversión, tranquilidad y mucha cultura local definitivamente recomiendo Puerto Dreams

El lugar es tal como el nombre lo dice, todo un sueño, desde que te reciben hasta que te vas te hacen sentir como en casa, no es nada una experiencia de un hotel, es mucho mejor! Todos los voluntarios y el staff de limpieza son súper atentos, especial mención a Ivi y Francesco que todo el tiempo están pendientes de que tu estadía sea perfecta, definitivamente es tu mejor opción si quieres conectar con más viajeros y con lo más local de puerto escondido, el bar y el bar manager te dan un pre y muchos tips increíbles para pasarla increíble si quieres salir de fiesta por las noches. El mejor hostal de Puerto Escondido

Puerto Dreams es el mejor hostal en Puerto Escondido, encuentras las mejores personas y experiencias ahí. Es un lugar que me marcó para siempre, de forma positiva. El personal, los voluntarios y managers son lo mejor, se convierten en tus amigos y familia. Si estás viajando solo o con amigos esta es la mejor opción, igualmente, se encuentra en un punto céntrico cerca de playas y de restaurantes que te brindan una experiencia más local. Cómo viajero, es difícil no sentirte solo en un lugar nuevo, por lo que quiero hacer una mención especial para Franchesco quien me hizo sentir que tenía a alguien en quien confiar y apoyarme, especialmente por lo bien que conoce Puerto y a su gente. Es un hostal para adultos en donde predomina la buena vibra de los huéspedes que llegan, algunos buscando aventura, otros relajación pero todos obtienen lo que quieren. Las actividades planeadas por el personal son lo mejor para romper el hielo y conocer los mejores spots de la ciudad al mismo tiempo sin gastar demasiado. Todo el staff muy amigable y dispuesto a ayudarte con cualquier duda, o situación, con especial mención Ivii, Edu y Francesco. El espíritu de conservación en el ambiente también se respira en algunos detalles que hacen aun mas especial la estancia. Tienen una cocina con elementos suficientes para que hagas tus alimentos, un café buenísimo que opera de lunes a sábado en las mañanas y un bar que también esta abierto en las noches de los mismos días. Por último tambien me encantaron las áreas de owork y que tienen un internet bastante estable.

MI SEGUNDA CASA

Puerto dreams es mas que un hostal, para todo el que viaja solo es como un segundo hogar. Te sientes en casa, en confianza, súper relajado y sobre todo equilibrado. El staff, los voluntarios, los managers, los gatitos y limoncito son un amor completamente. Si llegas y no tienes planes, no te preocupes todos los días hay diferentes actividades a realizar y en cualquier momento un plancito saldrá. Se ubica en el centro, en una zona super ubicada. Cada esquina del hostal es magia, inspiración y arte. Sin duda volveré para vivir nuevamente la experiencia y para fluir. Les extrañoo :)
