Convenient location. Room worked well for our family of 4 on route back north from a late arriving flight at Edinburgh airport
Short staffed in the restaurant which meant a long wait to be served breakfast. Then they ran out of eggs.

The location was good and the staff were pleasant
The room was freezing cold . When I approached the staff member he explained that the heating was only activated when the key card was inserted. It was a dreadful day with torrential rain . zero temperatures and snow o parts of the route. We arrived about 7pm and the room never got warm. The hot water was only lukewarm so couldn't even get a hot shower to warm me up.

Location is good for transport routes and huge choice of eating options in the evening.
Breakfast was decent, omelettes good.
Recommend eating over the road at Tony Marconi’s.
Heating was awful.
Bed wasn’t made to the standards I expect for this kind of accommodation.
Didn’t eat at the marston inn as the only option was carvery as I was told the chef called in sick all week.
Did I mention the heating.
The room was cold.
Oh… and the heating was awful.
To top the heating being awful, the windows were very drafty.

As a disabled guest I found access to the hotel and my particular room to be perfect.
I went round the exterior of the premises and found it to be very accessible.
The sweet chestnut restaurant doors were wide and accessible but automated access was not available, I found that staff had to leave the bar to hold the front and interior door open for my wheelchair, I would think if the premises was busy, staff would struggle to support wheelchair users.
My room (111) was very accessible, however toilet flushing was bad and often required multiple flushes just to clear toilet paper.
The shower pressure was quite weak and I found it difficult to use, even though the excellent provision of a wet room was a welcome addition.

The location was ideal split my journey coming back from Glasgow where i was seeing friends before heading up to Aberdeen after visiting my friends in Dunfermline
The room was pretty basic although that may account for the price. Tea and coffee supplied insufficient.
Brrakfast however was good and evenly priced .

Breakfast was amazing, the staff on duty for breakfast in the pub were brilliant…
Front door broken lock… tried to repair in the middle of the night but no good. The curtain rain in one of the rooms was faulty

Friendly staff and a warm welcome upon arrival. Lovely clean bed and bathroom. Great shower. 👍 fantastic location on the leisure park. Never been before but definitely be back. Loads of parking available and right next to garden centre, cinema, bowling and loads of fast food places right there. Easy to find, just off motorway. Ideal.
Full cooked breakfast was not great. Hate to leave negative response but personally I'd change suppliers of lorne sausage and black pudding. And only got a sliced half of one tiny mushroom. Tomato and tattie scone had dried out. Haggis however was fantastic. Eggs done well. And loads of continental breakfast items and toast, tea, coffee etc. . I only ever make reservations where breakfast is included so these things are important and definitely determine whether I come back or not. And we had two single beds joined together but no topper so not entirely comfy. But wouldn't put me off going back as the staff were great and location ideal and good price for B&B. Thanks

We have stayed 3 times in the family room with the kids and they love it! We don't come for any reason, the kids just love a wee hotel night and this is always our first pick and we come from Kilmarnock 😀

Well equipped, clean, comfortable. Good location.
Car park a bit noisy with boy racers.

Location
People shouting and arguing next door and smoking in the room, stinking the whole place out. Staff weren’t chatty and looked at me like I had two heads

Liked the close location to Halbeath, but best was the relaxed welcome from evening staff and night porter James after I arrived much later than planned due to forced bus travel instead of in my car. James even dropped me off for my airport bus in the morning, which was just true human kindness, and much appreciated.
Comfy bed with choice of pillows, nice and warm, blackout curtains. Everything you need is provided. Best to note also that one can arrive at any time now, as the night porter is reachable by telephone.
There was some whooshing buzzing sound despite me turning the aircon down, but it was quiet after midnight. Not sure if it was caused by a guest in the room above, who also seemed to be awake walking at four am. Maybe worth checking unless it was a rare occurrence.

Nothing positive to say
Arrived and was given a room with a broken window. Theye didn't have any other rooms except a disabled room on the ground floor which was not what we booked.

very good location and nice service
My son wanted to sleep with his mom in the big bed, so I slept in the single bed. It turned out to be very uncomfortable. My back hurt after the night.

Conveniently located for visiting.
Breakfast left a lot to be desired. No fried eggs? No yoghurt? Staff very dismissive when I complained about lack of eggs and yoghurt.

Bed was comfy
but twin beds were almost inseparable
room was clean
A complete nightmare trying to confirm booking Marston's, an endless circle of emails, 15 mins on hold trying to speak to someone who the just put me on hold again until the call cut off !
No visible reception or anyway of contacting anyone on arrival, eventually received advice from other guests - to call at the neighboring restaurant which was actually closed !!

2nd time staying here. Great location with lots of things to do & places to eat in the complex. Comfortable bed. Didn’t eat this time but had a lovely breakfast last stay.
Only issue was the plastic cover for the room card/electricity was faulty so ended up taping it on & it needed an extra card in too to stay switched on.

Pub next to hotel stopped serving food 20.30 not ideal after long journey!
Room had funny smell and hearing I couldn’t get to work. Nobody around at check in to help. Cheap but a bit disappointing.

Location easy to find. Staff friendly and helpful.
Modern booking systems. Both for the room and meal. Staff happy to help fortunately. Unfortunately you are tied into modern "guess what you'll have to pay for a room tonight." What is wrong with a bit of consistency? A room at £68 a night is good value given the location and lack of facilities. The same room at £113 isn't. I cannot understand how the same room can be double the price one day later. But don't worry we managed to get home safely despite the poor weather conditions.

This place was perfect for our one night stay. It was clean, well maintained and had a really comfy bed. It's location was in a busy complex, however, it was extremely quiet during the night. Food was good and in general we had a very pleasant stay. The best thing was the cost. Very cheap indeed.
The staff in the bar area were so slow. We waited ages to get served and the pub wasn't even busy. We ordered food which was lovely but it took an age to arrive.

I had a disabled person room which was odd. Room was clean and comfortable but shower was a bit awkward. Restaurant next door was handy but lots of choice around if you wanted something different.
No dislikes. Just a bit dated.

Good location. Bed was comfy. Lovely lass checked me in.
Don't like walking through the bar to check in. You have to come back out and walk to the hotel rooms which is a separate building.
No lift available, luckily only had to go up 1 floor but could be cumbersome for someone with lots of bags.
Shower curtain was stained.
Room wasn't exactly 'vibrant' very bland, especially bathroom.
Toilet looked like it had a stain / scuff on the seat.
Because the bar where you check in / out isn't open i didn't really know how to check out at 6:30am. Shouldn't have to read the room card to figure out how to check out.
Overall, not good value for money at £107 for 1 night on a Monday night not including breakfast. Google says 4 star hotel but thats definitely a stretch.
