Have stayed at the Auld Mill several times and always a wonderful place to stay, excellent staff and management and a consistently clean and comfortable room. A real find on the east side of Dunfermline.
Would be nice to have the entrance road fixed but assume that is more than just a simple undertaking.

Very handy for the places we needed to get to
Property needs updating, only breakfast available, rooms smell damp, hairdryer advertised by not there ironing board but no iron. The manager did everything reception cooking etc could be lovely if further investment was secured….

Auld Mill is an established property that provides a good quality of service for an excellent price. The King Size room was well decorated with modern fixings and ensuite shower room. TV was a little small by current standards but perfectly functional. Addition of breakfast again was fine with a limited choice but what was prepared was good quality food and plenty of it. I would stay there again if I am in the area again.
Breakfast starts at 7:30 could be an issue for those needing to start work earlier. It was not a big problem for me but worth being aware of.

Location, clean, Spacious
Bed was not comfortable at all, I could feel the springs from the mattress. I booked a double room instead of single room, as a 6ft 3in frame needs that space. Ended up in a twin room with two single beds instead. Sleep was not comfortable at all.

We did not stay for breakfast, the host was very nice & helpful, the hotel was very central to Dunfermline City, eateries, supermarket, nightlife & last but not least pubs
A longer stay 😊

The hotel is lovely with very comfortable rooms. The bar area was quirky with lots of old pictures and the owner couldn't have been any more hospitable. We would definitely stay there again if in the area.
Maybe a few more options for drinks in the bar however I understand it was quiet season and no point having a full bar that might go to waste.

Great place, friendly staff no complaints
The pillows which were too hard for me, but if that's the only complaint they are doing a tremendous job 👍👍

Room was good size for a single, really clean and smelled nice, shower good size and decent pressure and breakfast was good also.
Bed base in room 8 was really noisy every bit of movement made it squeak.

Very friendly owner, the room was nice, pillows were hard and the shower head was dirty, room 7. However overall it was value for money
The hotel must have been something in its day, unique and steeped in history

Great location and good linl to Edinburgh Centre Trains, Asda up the street 24h open, great value for money, rooms always clean, flexible check in!
A little noisy (just from hallway due to thin walls), beds ok (nice bouncy, but you can feel the springs)

The breakfast was delicious. Freshly made and hot, not a buffet , which is often cold. Great service and lots of choice. Our host was a lovely person who made us feel at home and comfortable.
The road toward the property has a few potential holes, but that’s the only negative.

We liked the location of the hotel for our needs, we also liked the fact that no one bothers you so it’s like a home from home, but if you need anyone they would be there at the end of a buzzer.
The rickety driveway into the property is probably the only negative, it’s clean, in a great location, the area is quiet, the walls appear to be thin, but in saying that everyone was respectable.

Easy no fuss check in
Thin walls very thin could hear other guests quite clearly. Also personally I found the air freshener outside in the hall overpowering.

Spotlessly clean modern big room and en suite. Pleasant welcome from gentleman I presume to be the owner. Freshly cooked breakfast, sausage bacon egg and tomato along with limited continental choice. Superb value for money.
Driveway needs a little tlc but most certainly didn't affect our stay.

Location was perfect for what I wanted. Good shower. Basic. clean room.
Door not very thick, very noisy neighbours in 3 or 4 of the rooms. Heard them from 23.30hrs until 2am, going between rooms. Kept me awake. Bed was comfy but pillows 'like bricks'

Breakfast made by the owners, nice fry up in the morning, tea/coffee and orange juice/apple juice on offer. Cold breakfast also available.
Room had everything we needed.
Was difficult to find in the dark. The signage could be a little bit better lit, had to do a u-turn as missed the entrance initially.

Great private hotel in a lovely wooded area. Close to bus and train routes to Glasgow, Edinburgh, St Andrews etc, we were using public transport.
Breakfast was very good, bed was very comfy and a really good shower. We especially liked the two chairs in our room. Very upbeat proprietor. Would recommend and use again. Cheers 😁😁
All was good.

Great breakfast, good location close to a train station, clean and comfortable.
Brent was very helpful with restaurant recommendations
It's a small matter....Beds were comfortable but the pillows were hard and flat. The bed stand top was sticky. We tried to wipe it off but decided it was the finish on the top.

Owner was able to add an early slot for us in for breakfast although we had not booked (note you cannot book through breakfast through booking.com - discovered you have to contact the hotel). Hotel was in a convenient location for our drive south from Orkney isles to Buckinghamshire. Not far away is a retail park with good choice of restaurants and fast charging for our EV.
Venue accessed down a lane that is not obvious from the main road; on Google maps it looks like you are turning at traffic lights and in fact it is a bit before the lights. Lane to the hotel could do with being resurfaced. Site obviously going through some renovation work but that did not impact our stay.
