Hidden gem Chose this Hotel as Edinburgh prices were crazy for Scotland v England Rugby. Very handy for train to Edinburgh Excellent breakfast. Lovely location surrounded by Scottish history. Excellent price

Nice room, very clean few marks on sheets but think may be from the laundry bags or maybe the just the lights casting a tinge couldn't see them in natural light. Breakfast superb, staff all nice. Would happily book again.

Room 19-blinds had months(no exaggeration) of dust, toilet still soiled from previous guests, room noisy as facing main road. Bar had 3 attempts to pour a Guinness even although I advised there was no gas left. Didn't get the breakfast order correct either. Spoke with other guest who had 3 room changes in one night.Poor service from what was once a good hotel.

Room a bit dated. Good size room. No lift and lot's of stairs no good if you are disabled. Staff are very attentive. Breakfast was lovely. Close to lots of shops and places to eat. Didn't have dinner at hotel so can't comment

Friday night was horrendous, the crowd noise outside the room made sleep impossible. However, the hotel revised our sleeping arrangements and we continued on to have a great stay.

A full Scottish breakfast was available, but I'm not keen on baked beans,mushrooms at that time of the day. Waitress got me a hard boiled egg,bacon & sausages. All cooked perfectly. Everything I wanted,nothing I didn't want.

Clean room, well serviced and a good shower and well laid out, modern bathroom. The bedroom was very cold with windows fixed open and the only working radiator in the bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included in the price, but this was not clear as the room menu had it priced, a bit confusing.

Room was clean and tidy, towels changed daily, tea and coffee facilities in room, hairdryer on request from reception, only let down is minimal car parking spaces, but there is a pay and display car park behind the hotel which has plenty of parking.

Good selection breakfast, freshly prepared, for a budget hotel it was very high quality food Room was clean, small as I was staying in a single room, but it had everything I need, the only negative is that it was over kitchen extractor so a bit noisy at daytime The staff was very friendly and helpful

Would have got 5 stars as the room itself and breakfast were really good ... but the WiFi didnt work in the room and the TV screen froze and wouldnt switch off .. no spare remotes ... they couldnt look at it till morning when we were checking out. Disappointing as had wanted to relax and watch football on my laptop but couldnt. Paid for wifi and didn't get it 🤔

Ideal location for Alhambra Theatre. Very reasonably priced. Room was clean, modern and comfortable bed. Only slight complaint, corridor to room was stiflingly hot. No a/c in the room only a small fan. Unable to open the window for fresh air. But will be back.
