    First stay at Sweet Chestnut and, although nothing major was wrong, lots of smaller items let them down. Non-working ceiling lights, no towels, cheap TV remote that really didn't work, lots of scrapes on the hallway walls and, probably worst of all, a rather blaise response from most of the staff (except one). There are several other, similarly-priced options that I will be using in the future.

    The Sweet Chestnut is situated not far from the motorway, with Fife Leisure Park, filled with lots of eating places, so is handy for travellers as a stopover on their journey. The rooms are clean and spacious., and the bed is large and comfy. Tea and coffee sachets are provided, although only 2 teabags. Could maybe provide a couple more for those on an overnight stay. I also think it would make a huge difference if there was a means of contact with reception , either a phone in the rooms, or at the very least , the main entrance to the accommodation block. The accommodation block is a completely seperate building from the restaurant/reception, and if you have any issues, or even just a top up of loo roll, towels or even just teabags, you have to leave one building, and take a short walk along the road to the reception/restaurant building just to request these, then walk all the way back, , which is an inconvenience, especially in the cold, wet winter weather. You can phone on your own mobile to the main public Marstons reservations number, and then select the option to get put through to reception, which is a pain, if it’s just to ask for more teabags. Marstons should really consider installing a reception contact phone within the accommodation building. It would make a huge difference. One thing we do love about the Sweet Chestnut are the fab breakfasts. Although, they should maybe consider putting on another member of staff during the breakfast period, as customers were getting irritated about the time it took either to have their order taken, or for their breakfast to arrive. It was very slow. These points are not complaints, only suggestions from a customers point of view, which would greatly improve their stay. We’ve stayed on 2 occasions now, and apart from those points mentioned, we’ve been happy with our stay

    Me and my partner loved staying here for the one night friendly and welcoming staff and great location we will definitely be back would highly recommend

    Room cold. Carvery was shocking the standard of food was terrible. No meat no potatoes no gravy.
