Le Palm House has two bedrooms with the breathtaking view over lake Como

What an amazing home and view, tastefully curated and very child friendly. We loved everything about this stay - Lily and Andy had the apartment set up for us when we arrived and provided exceptionally clear instructions with pictures on how to access Le Palm House. They also had a lot of really great information in the apartment for use of the appliances throughout the house including the washer. We also got contacts for taxi providers in Perledo & Varenna to make getting around easier. We were blown away be the service and arrangements. Very well done; we are exceptionally grateful and plan to return.

Other visitors have posted photos of the apartment, and the view in particular, so I won't bother. It's worth noting that there are castle ruins just a short drive away (visible from the balcony), and a beautiful gorge with waterfalls and flowers a short drive to the north. This area is rich in history and culture; we could have spent much longer, and Le Palm is an excellent home base for exploring the region. One afternoon a neighbor stopped by and gave us a handful of fresh basil from her garden. We prepared dinner with it that night. It really gave the place a homey feel, like we were part of the community. Very nice people in the building, extremely nice hosts. Great communication. A special shout out to Viviana who cleans the place. She's a gem.

Many have commented on the hot water in the shower. Yeah, it takes a minute... brush your teeth or something. The only thing I would say is mildly inconvenient is the walk to the parking area. If you are traveling by car you can drop off your belongings at the gate and then go park. My wife and I are in our 70s and able-bodied so this walk was not a problem, but it might be for someone with physical issues. If you don't have a car you'll need local transportation -- bus, taxi -- to get to the apartment. It's too far from the train station to walk, especially with luggage.

The accommodation is located in Perledo, in a quiet area with a breathtaking view over Lake Como you can admire from the terrace. The flat is equipped with everything you may need . There is a spacious bedroom with a comfortable bed, a small room with one bed, a kitchen with a dining area and a bathroom. You can reach the flat from Varenna by taxi or by bus ( in the evening from 7 pm till midnight you can travel on a night bus which is free of charge). The contact with the host was excellent - thank you Lily and Andy once again :) I definitely recommend this place.

There was nothing to complain about.

Centralised in perledo Veranna, which is what we wanted. Has a small terraced front garden overlooking Como. Franco the hostel was really nice and very informative. Getting to Bellagio etc is very easy from here.

Location was reason why we paid over the odds for coming here. However, without a car it's very difficult to wind back down or up the mountain road. Facilities for making breakfast good but need topping up and perhaps more variety as we booked for family of 4. Needs modernising as its very dated. Beds not comfortable at all Currently parking on Varenna is near impossible due to ongoing works.. but this has nothing to do with the stay..Just advice
