Agriturismo Conca Sandra - Farm Stay on Lake Como

Driving up the winding roads to the accommodation was an experience in itself, and when we first arrived at the parking area we weren’t quite sure what to expect. Having now seen more of Lake Como, it makes a lot more sense given the landscape of the area. The apartment is set within a small holding with a large garden, and there was plenty of space for us. It worked really well for our stay and we enjoyed being somewhere a little quieter.

It’s not really a negative, but it’s worth knowing that the walk down into town takes around 20 minutes and, because of the steep landscape, the walk back up is quite hard work. There is also a small town further up the hill past the accommodation with a few places to eat, which we found really good. If you’re less able or struggle with steep walks, this might not be the ideal location, although I’m sure there are buses and other transport options available.

Everything was perfect

Serena's place was lovely, comfortable, beautiful gardens, beautiful view from above the lake, within walking distance of a nice restaurant, Bar Milano, and the bus stop. The free evening bus was very useful too - after 7 pm. We took a taxi both up and down with our luggage, and Serena arranged for both trips. The goat path up and down needed a bit of navigation, but after the first time, we were ok. Wifi was good too. We booked a full day pass, twice so we were able to see many towns, then a full day down to Como. Found Ciao Spaghetti in Tremezzo - a must go to! all in all a wonderful stay.

Navigating the sentiero down and up vs the day bus was a little confusing so we mostly walked.. It was tough in the heat and uneven pavers , but it still took about 30 minutes each way.

It was clean comfortable and pretty quiet, a big difference from down by the lake. The walk up from Varenna was just a bit far and steep for bringing the bags up but that keeps it a bit more exclusive.
