Residenza Decimina

The location of the property was great. Walking distance to train station in Varenna and really convenient. Patio was really nice - had a nice view of the lake. The property managers were fantastic. They were flexible with us with check-in, when we had to store our luggage, etc. They went above and beyond to work with us & give us a good experience.

Most tourists come into Varenna by train only to discover they have to drag their suitcases up and down hilly cobbled streets in the heat. Residenza Decimina is right near the station which is why we chose it - it was a great decision. It also has a great patio and picture window view to the mountains which one never grows tired of. As former 5 star Australian accommodation owners and hotel inspectors/business developers in Bali we would rate this property as 5 star. Their seasonal pricing was spot on for this unit, not cheap, not expensive - just right as Goldilocks would say!

We didn't dislike anything but might suggest that a plumbed-in washing machine would have been of greater benefit than the plumbed-in dishwasher as with just two adults washing up was not a challenge. The only other observations are: with shopping being a challenge in Varenna (no supermarkets) the provision of a few basics like salt&pepper, oil, vinegar and the Australian custom of guests often leaving dry ingredients behind for the next guests would soon create a stable pantry of basics.

Very handy location as situated 5 mins walk from Varenna Esino train station. Clean apartment with comfy beds. The views outside the balcony is lovely too.

Will need earplugs to block out noises from cars/train when going to sleep. The pedestrian path is a bit small and narrow so can be quite unsafe walking to the apartment.

The apartment was clean and well presented. Spacious.

The surrounding was noisy due to ongoing construction work even during nights. The parking which was reserved for me was up on a slope and whilst parking my car had a bump at the bottom due to sudden flat surface at the top. Same thing happened whilst taking my car back out.
