The apartment was extremely comfortable and well equipped. In the lead up to our visit the office staff dealing with the booking were very helpful. We were concerned from other reviews that parking would be difficult but it was very easy and free.
I reported a couple of minor problems while we were there. I said they didn't need dealing with for us as they were not causing problems but would need correcting. When I left I mentioned it again in a message but the message had not been passed on and I had to explain again. I know that the £250 damage payment is mentioned in the small print but this feels excessive. The flat isn't perfect and I was slightly concerned that there were small areas of damage when we arrived which could easily be attributed to us. I made sure I reported some things at the beginning but these were clearly not passed on.. There was a missing parking disc when we arrived. I'm concerned that I could be charged for this as my report was clearly ignored. When renting a flat long term there is a deposit to be paid but there will be an inventory showing condition on move in. Nothing like this applies to a short term rental so no way to prove who caused the small mark on the worktop or the missing parking disc. A payment of 50% of the rental charge to cover damage that can't be proved by either party seems strange.

Absolutely loved our stay! We had such a fantastic time staying at Hampton House. From the moment we walked in, it just felt so welcoming and comfortable. The apartment was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed – you can really tell a lot of thought has gone into it. The beds were super comfy, the kitchen had everything we could possibly need, and all the little touches made it feel really special. It’s in a perfect location too – nice and peaceful, but only a short walk to the beach and the town. Communication with the host was brilliant – really friendly and helpful. Honestly, we didn’t want to leave! We’ll definitely be booking again next time we’re in Scarborough. Couldn’t recommend it enough.
Everything was great! Honestly, one of the best places we've ever stayed in Scarborough. Would 100% stay again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay by the coast.

No heating on the Sunday and Monday days and nights - which I reported on the Monday to the accommodation managing company - ‘Scarborough stays’ No hot water on Tuesday - had to postpone our arranged day trip out as we had to wait for hot water to be fixed so we could all have a shower. The manager of ‘Scarborough stays’ rang me up (after I had reported the faults to one of his staff ) and told me I had been demanding for reporting the faults , he was aggressive and rude to me on the phone and asked me to leave at one point in the conversation. I remained calm. He sent the cleaner around who fixed the central heating boiler ( apparently the water pressure in the boiler must have been low). We basically wasted half a day waiting to get showered. I had to rearrange our day trip with other family members. I also had to text message the staff twice earlier in our stay to ask for a dishcloth and an extra tea towel, and bath towels. The manager during his angry telephone conversation told me that we were only entitled to one towel each and said the flat was advertised on booking .com as one towel per person ( I don’t remember reading that). The flat was also advertised on booking.com as having free parking - we had to find a place to park up the road. There were no parking scratch cards available to park outside the flat. The accommodation was also advertised as having Netflix - Netflix was only available if you had your own Netflix account. I just felt like I was having to contact the management company everyday about something. I do feel that having paid nearly £500 for 3 nights stay I should have a refund of at least 1/3 of the cost of our stay. I was shocked and upset with the manager’s aggressive behaviour. I would never book an holiday flat / house again through booking.com because of the way the manager spoke to me - it was very upsetting.
