Disappointment and ruined holidays

The room was large and the view from the room is excellent.

The most important is safety. Room's balcony can be easily accessed from the road because gate cannot even be closed, let alone locked. I had to keep the balcony doors locked in the heat and it wss overly stressful to know that anyone could easily come to my balcony and room. Second disappointment was that properly has several levels and my room was not near the beach but 80+ very steep stairs high which was a huge idsue because I booked beach property amd got hill accommodation. In the booking, this was not mentioned and the property managers - who are not om the site, but just communinicate with guests by messages. - ignored my requests to change the room, so it turned to be daily suffering with a heavy climb from the beaxh. Third problem is music from bearby bar which makes any rsst in the room impossible. Overall, it was not what I booked - beach accommodation - and it ruined my holiday.

Excellent place to stay

The room was very big with great sea view. It had everything needed for the perfect stay of a couple/family and it was also getting cleaned every day. 5 minutes walking to the city centre.

Everything was excellent

The only issue with the property was the wifi connection and cellular service. The only way to get good wifi or service was to sit on the balcony which isn’t ideal after a long day, when you just want to lay in bed and maybe scroll a bit on your phone:) other than that everything else was great!

A beautiful beachside getaway with unbeatable location and charm- I’d gladly return.

The location was absolutely perfect- just steps away from the beach, making it easy to enjoy the sea any time of day. The apartment was clean, comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and everything was well-maintained, creating a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere.

The air conditioning stopped working on the last day, but that’s fixable.

Good location, but with some issues

The location is great.

I booked a room with a sea view, but the view was barely visible. Additionally, the room had several issues — the toilet paper holder was broken, and the lock on the front door wasn’t working properly. The surroundings around the rooms were also quite run-down.

Roomy Bedroom with a good viewing terrace in an ideal location

Upon contacting the host prior to arriving with various concerns we had read in the reviews, these were remedied and addressed, just with the exception of a bathroom door handle hanging off. Overall our room was cleaned daily, fresh Towels and Sheets. In regard to the location, it is perfectly positioned for a short walk into Afytos Town, which is beautiful and packed with good local authentic restaurants. Then another short stroll down to a very sandy beach which sits to the left hand side of the perimeter.

There is a shared side access with anyone staying in the apartment below, which means they walk down past you whilst sitting on your terrace, but we remedied it by hanging a blanket over the railing. Although there is a fridge and a kettle available with 2 cups and 2 glasses, we had to buy some basic cutlery and plates etc, as we chose to sit in and cater for ourselves (Snacks etc), a couple of nights, but that was our choice. Note, you do have to wash up any bits in the bathroom sink.

A little disappointed (unexpected situations) but made the best out of it

The location was good (close to the beach and the town of Afytos) The air conditioning worked very well The room and the terrace was spacious and similar to the pictures More than enough parking available

First and foremost: there is NO RECEPTION !!! This is a vital information which is not provided anywhere here on booking or gets communicated in any way. When we arrived we needed to call the owner and wait for about 30 minutes until someone arrived with the keys. What did not affect us, but what was extremely weird, is that they did not want any ID from us… this way of handling NEEDS to be communicated properly !!! The breakfast was the same every day and there were not really any options (especially the sweet options) - when the cake was finished it got replaced with bread sticks? You always had to ask for water at the breakfast, no tea, etc… The bathroom was way too small for two people - there is zero storage or place to put your stuff! Also, the shower is on the same height as the rest of the bathroom, so when someone showers, the bathroom gets flooded! In the room itself there lack some details and it seems a bit unfinished! It seemed to us, that the room was barely cleaned. It is written that the sheets and towels get replaced every three days (which is fine) but the owner told us that the trash and the room will be cleaned daily. Nonetheless, it seemed that this was not the case as we constantly had sand everywhere - which is not super comfortable! The trash on the other side was always emptied! This is not the property‘s fault but keep in mind that you are not allowed to flush the toilet paper… and, what occurred several times is that the water ran short and we were barely able to shower… here again, we needed to call the owner. As there is no reception and noone available to talk at the property during the day, the constant calling was kind of annoying.

Disappointed

The place itself is not like it seems in the pictures,it was too much money for a place like that. They tell you that they have parking for your car,but also when they damage the car they don't care and when you write to them they just don't give a damn about it.They cut the grass near my car and they damaged it on 4 or 5 places,and when i told them about it they just didn't care and didn't do anything.So beware and don't park your car in front of it. I won't be coming back here,there are better places to stay in Afythos with much better rooms,breakfast and nicer staff.

The accommodation was not the best, but didn’t ruin the stay.

The location was fantastic

The amenities include shower gel only. No on comes to clean your room daily where in a tropical place where it is hot and the bathroom is old, cleanliness is needed. The AC is not strong enough for high heat, so keep that in mind as well.

We had no water to shower quite often due to water shortage on the village side as they explained us. There was not coffee or tea available in the room to enjoy while watching the amazing view. Very basic breakfast only between 9-10am.

The room was good, except the bathroom (which is not shown in the pictures). The breakfast was ok and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The noise and music coming from the restaurants until the very late hours, made it impossible to sleep.

Great location and view

Great location. It has everything that is needed for a vacation stay. Very comfortable bed, great balcony with sea view. Owner extremely nice and responsive. New sheets and towels every day.

The house is a bit old and need some renovation. Small bathroom with bad ventilation. Breakfast is very basic, but managable for week stay.

Passable

Accommodation is one of the few near the beach in Afitos. That was important to us because the entire Afitos is elevated with extremely stressful narrow and steep streets. The terrace and the room were spacious, and the sea was crystal clear. The breakfast was good.

The bathroom is too small, made from a storage room or some other small space. There is always a lot of water on the floor, with no possibility to clean it up. The internet is the worst, if that's important to someone, it's almost non-existent in the room. It wasn't exactly perfectly clean; after all, it's an old building. There is no kitchen or kitchen utensils. It's mentioned in the description, but we haven't come across such accommodation in Greece before, unless it's a hotel, so we didn't pay attention to it. Driving to the town in the evening is very stressful since cars are parked where they shouldn't be, and the streets are too narrow for passing.

No next time for the Beach House:(

Just to be upfront: we have been here couple of years ago, that is why we chose it again. Close to beach, and close to village perfect spot. Large Balcony, parking avaikable. The breakfast was better than expected and coffee was actually good.

The superior room is small . BUT this place needs some serious work. Starting with plumbing: toilet and drain flies everywhere.. it took daily hours to get rid of them.. Also the communication with the host was not really good, not very attentive to the needs of the guests, answers 12 hours after contacting them via Booking.com. Garden area doesnt look as good as it used to. Doesnt justify the pricing in any way. This place definately needs work and love. We will pick another place next time.

comfortable hotel that is close to the beach

Spacious room (# 104) with a hallway and separate bathroom. The bed is really comfortable and you can leave the window open as there is a mosquito protector. It is only a minute walk to the beach (FYI - no beds are provided by the hotel). a stroll to the city center is takes approx. 10 minutes.

The hotel is a bit old fashioned and some parts are ready for renovation. The staff was not rude, but we didn’t feel like they were very thoughtful or welcoming either (could have been the language barrier).
