I won’t be back.

It’s in a good location and is nicely decorated. There was usually parking outside the property.

The online description is not accurate. It states that there are two bathrooms and there is not. There is one on the top floor and an additional toilet on the bottom floor. One of the rooms had no blinds or curtain (facing the street). I contacted the owner and was told that they knew it was broken and were waiting for a new blind to arrive. She did apologise but did not offer any temporary measures. That room adjoins the main bedroom but you have to go through the main bedroom to get to it. Not ideal if you are not staying with family. There were some other issues/ broken items e.g. bedroom ceiling light, plug hole, towel rail, which I also told the owner at the same time as I mentioned the blind. She said she would tell her repair man. I never heard from her again after she sent her response, despite me staying there for an additional 5 days. No sign of a repair man either. Cleanliness in the bedrooms and bathrooms was good but other areas were lacking e.g. freezer, doors and windows. There was, what looked like dried blood, on the bathroom door. Some items in the kitchen weren’t great, e.g. couple of scratched frying pans and a cafetière that needs replaced, as grinds end up in the coffee. The property is over 3 floors. I would suggest that it’s not ideal for young children or people who struggle with stairs.

Beautiful Goshen Cottage

We have stayed 4 times in this beautiful house and would 100% recommend it to anyone visiting Kelso, the rooms are so comfortable and the garden is a lovely sun trap the added touches of bread milk orange juice etc very thoughtful and appreciated

For us there is nothing we don't like apart from it being slightly further away from the venue we are here in kelso for but that's not the houses fault and I'm really just looking to find fault which isn't there

12 months ago, my wife and I discovered Goshen Cottage in a 7 day February UK Half Term 'staycation'. We were astounded and absolutely loved the place..!! To date, this was our 3rd visit to this property. After Feb 2022, we did 2 weeks in August the same year, then this trip. It is a traditional Scottish Borders property over 3 floors, and exceptionally well appointed throughout. Lower floor spacious lounge with laundry facilities (and WC) alongside. Exceptionally efficient wood burning stove in lounge (logs provided) and beautifully secluded garden, through patio doors, with BBQ facilities and a garden out-building. Great 'smart tv' with all the 'toys' and VERY POWERFUL Wi-Fi to run it to it's full potential. Middle floor (street level) kitchen/dining room and 1 bedroom. Dining Room table comfortably seats 6. Kitchen is a 'dream', but by now of course, we do know it fairly well. 😊 Upper floor has fabulous big bathroom with shower facility, and a bath you can nearly 'swim in' Beautiful in the morning, just as the Sun comes up. I guess you need to experience it to appreciate it..?? Also upstairs are the 2 other bedrooms, again superbly suitable for our needs. We used the smaller one as a 'big wardrobe' Other bonuses... ; Free on-street parking right outside front door. Literally 2 minutes stroll from Kelso Town Square, but amazingly peaceful in Goshen's own special way. (by now, you've probably guessed how much we like the place..??..) Property is owned and managed by Kelso Border Retreats, and the host.., Nikki is quite simply a delight to deal with. No query, however small, is too much trouble, and the response time to any question at all, however seemingly trivial, is 'ELECTRIC' This organisation have several rental properties in the Borders region, and we have now used 3 of their locations. (yes...

There is nothing we did not like (as a couple) in this delightfully 'querky' cottage on Edenside Road in the Scottish Borders Town of Kelso.

Location is superb. A couple of minutes walk from main square in town centre. Every amenity and town facility is within very easy reach, including all pubs & restaurants. Excellent....!!! Accommodation is self catering and lovely flowers and welcome basket are there upon arrival. The property host (Nikky) was a delight to deal with, and was a pleasure to meet. She could not have been more helpful and welcoming (and charming..!!..) Fantastic wood burning efficient fire in downstairs lounge with kiln dried logs and kindling provided. A real treat on chilly evenings..! Beautiful secluded and sheltered walled rear garden, with lovely outdoor furniture and decking which includes feature lighting. It was just perfect..!! And a note to car owners...; FREE parking right outside front door.

We would definitely use this house again but it’s probably best as a family house rather than 2/3couples.

The house is very close to the centre of Kelso and all amenities.

The property is a little quirky in its layout but it is due to its age, ground floor has the kitchen and dining room with a single bedroom off the hall, first floor has the main bedroom that has a single bedroom off it with some wardrobes the main bathroom is also on this floor. The basement has the lounge and a further double bed which drops down out of a wardrobe and separate loo and basin(it would of been a good idea to have put a small shower cubical in this room ) the back garden is also off the lounge with a good patio set and bbq.

A good property but not well suited to those with younger children

Everything in good condition. Clean. Kitchen well equipped. Good supply of high quality towels. Good central heating.

The property description failed to specify that the rooms in the house were arranged across 3 different levels, with many steps and the living room area downstairs from the kitchen & dining space. This gave difficulties for elderly family visiting us accessing toilet & seating area. One bedroom is located at the ground floor level, and the second single bedroom accessed via the master bedroom. This gave rise to safety/wellbeing concerns as a child had to sleep downstairs from the rest of the family. Once the issue of stairs was realised (after correspondence prior to arrival) we requested safety gates on the stairs at ground floor level to keep our 18 month old toddler safe. Only one gate was installed - to the downstairs stairs - without being correctly fixed to the door frame - double side sticky pads instead of the proper gate tightening nuts, which duly came unstuck.

Location Location Location Very close to city centre - some lovely artisan shops. Some interesting restaurants. Some supermarkets very close and some butchers/bakers/delis close to get superb fresh stuff for home cooked meals.

The heating was a puzzle. The kitchen missing dish washer tablets also tea & oven cloths. The key safe outside was difficult to read in the dark. Instructions for the oven unavailable.

Border Break

The property is ideally suited for exploring the Scottish Borders and all this beautiful area has to offer. There is a comfortable double (with a further single off it suitable perhaps got a child and smother single bedroom. There is a further double that pulls down from a cupboard in the sitting room so plenty of beds for a family of any size. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a good dining room off this. Would thoroughly recommend.

Excellent Kelso Break

Very good border location for walking and sightseeing. Suitable for Borders Abbeys Way, St Cuthbert's Way and The Cheviots. Unusual layout on 3 floors, works well. Private garden/barbecue area. Well stocked. Kelso is a lovely border market town.

A high quality house within a very short walk from the centre of Kelso.

This is lovely, bright, clean, and extremely well-managed property within a very short (2 minute) walk from the centre of the charming town of Kelso. The property, split over three levels, makes inventive and very effective use of space, with this being maximised in the lower level, with a spacious sitting room (including wood burning fire) and an enclosed outdoor garden area with decking and seating. Throughout the furnishings and equipment are all to a very high quality. It is also worth noting the very tasteful welcome pack and fresh flowers awaiting our arrival.
