Enjoyed our stay. Would return.

The restaurant food was excellent. Staff very helpful and always had a smile. Beds were comfy. Nice fluffy towels. Good parking.

The window of our bedroom backed onto the extractor fan and was a bit noisy. You wouldn’t want to open in summer. Croissants at breakfast not covered so very dry.

At the moment there is work being done on the pub and in the room there were cracks on a wall: we should have been advised of the cracks on arrival.

The staff were amazing. Very helpful and courteous. The room was spotless and a good size with excellent facilities. Breakfast was delicious and I was made to feel very welcome. When I am next in the area, I would certainly stay again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Radiator was a tad noisy during the night, but that's just nit picking.

Beautiful building, with a great pub restaurant downstairs, really nice spacious room. The staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful, especially at breakfast, they went to the effort of cooking my little one some pancakes for her which was a lovely touch .

The bed could have been a little bigger, the room was certainly large enough to accommodate a king size bed but I guess as this is what we’re used to sleeping in, this is more personal preference than anything else.

Not very impressed with the bedroom but the food, staff and cleanliness were first class.

The food was very good, well cooked and a good choice. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The property was very clean.

We were in room 1 which only had 1 chair. The walls were very thin we could hear next door snoring and the windows were not double glazed we could hear the traffic, although work was being done so maybe double glazing is being installed.

Good value for the price.

It was spacious. The staff are lovely. Lots of parking.

It needs updating. The carpet in room 8 needs changing and the bathroom requires some work doing. Attention to detail by the cleaners is also needed. Damp wiping of furniture, dust radiators and behind sink. Check for cobwebs.

Lovely location on the moors between Bolton and Bury (doable on a bus). Great walking. Excellent restaurant and breakfast. Friendly bar and staff.

Road outside can be a bit noisy early in the morning despite the secondary glazing.

Ate Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast all were excellent. The staff were so friendly and we were made to feel so welcome. The rooms were large , beds very comfortable, the shower was a little on the small side but fine for us.

When we arrived the radiators were flat out and you can only slightly open the window (was a warm August day). It’s on a fairly busy road so quite noisy. Downstairs, the pub is very worn.

It was the first time going to the Red Lion and it was everything I expected it to be.

We were greeted by a warm welcome. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was spot on. We will definitely be going again sometime very soon

Meal was not the best-ordered steak x2 not cooked to order - a lot of grizzle. Onion rings were overcooked with no trace of onion. Bathroom in our room was dated. Toilet seat too small for toilet and shower not fit for purpose.

The bed was small for 2 but comfortable. The room got hot in the exceptional hot days we had, but luckily there was a fan. The location of the hotel was great for our purpose and being on the road.

Perfect place to stay

We stayed for 2 nights, The first night we had dinner in house. I had pie of the day, (cheese and onion) and my husband had chicken in stilton sauce. Both lovely and hot. Breakfast over the 2 mornings for the the two of us, 2 full English, 1 pancakes with maple syrup and 1 eggs Benedict. Very nice and again hot. Staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. Second night we went back to the pub to drown our sorrows after the ELO concert was cancelled last minute. A pint from the local brewery helped. Room well stocked with tea coffee, biscuits and bottled water. Bed very comfy
