Superb

Staff were excellent, lovely, clean comfortable room which looked recently decorated. Comfortable relaxed bar area, not overcrowded or cramped.

Perfect location, perfect food with an excellent caring team.

The team were extremely kind and caring, the food was excellent. The property was very clean you can tell the team really care. 😊

The beds were a bit uncomfortable, the mattresses could do with replacing with a better mattress topper. The bedroom was beautifully decorated albeit there was a serious crack in one of the walls and the bathroom needs a little updating.

Absolutely wonderful Stay at the Red Lion

Such friendly helpful staff. Lovely pub with great selection of Ales and excellent food. Room and bed very comfortable and just what was needed after a long drive. All the staff were brilliant Excellent value for money

If I had one minor problem. I think a slip mat in the bath when taking a shower, as we are both in our 70s.But in the bigger picture a minor gripe

I don’t stay there but they charged money

One of the bad properties it was smelling of Alcohol, room was not clean I did not stay there payed money and left the property, I advised please don’t book a room this place

The restaurant food was excellent. Staff very helpful and always had a smile. Beds were comfy. Nice fluffy towels. Good parking.

The window of our bedroom backed onto the extractor fan and was a bit noisy. You wouldn’t want to open in summer. Croissants at breakfast not covered so very dry.

The staff were amazing. Very helpful and courteous. The room was spotless and a good size with excellent facilities. Breakfast was delicious and I was made to feel very welcome. When I am next in the area, I would certainly stay again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful building, with a great pub restaurant downstairs, really nice spacious room. The staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful, especially at breakfast, they went to the effort of cooking my little one some pancakes for her which was a lovely touch .

The bed could have been a little bigger, the room was certainly large enough to accommodate a king size bed but I guess as this is what we’re used to sleeping in, this is more personal preference than anything else.

It was spacious. The staff are lovely. Lots of parking.

It needs updating. The carpet in room 8 needs changing and the bathroom requires some work doing. Attention to detail by the cleaners is also needed. Damp wiping of furniture, dust radiators and behind sink. Check for cobwebs.

Not very impressed with the bedroom but the food, staff and cleanliness were first class.

The food was very good, well cooked and a good choice. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The property was very clean.

We were in room 1 which only had 1 chair. The walls were very thin we could hear next door snoring and the windows were not double glazed we could hear the traffic, although work was being done so maybe double glazing is being installed.

Lovely location on the moors between Bolton and Bury (doable on a bus). Great walking. Excellent restaurant and breakfast. Friendly bar and staff.

Road outside can be a bit noisy early in the morning despite the secondary glazing.

Very Comfortable

Ate Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast all were excellent. The staff were so friendly and we were made to feel so welcome. The rooms were large , beds very comfortable, the shower was a little on the small side but fine for us.
