The stairs I had phoned several weeks before about disabled access and they said just several stairs. However when arriving found 14 steps plus more for breakfast so my husband went without..The manager was ok, he did say that he would look in to it. And we could use the fire escape to get my husband out of a wheelchair and up the stairs.

The location of the hotel is in a really lovely town with and is close to explore some local areas.

The whole place looks nothing like the photos. We were put in a dog friendly family room despite not having a dog and both nights were disturbed by dogs barking after being left unattended in their rooms. We didn't know we were in a dog friendly room until we were putting our 3 year old to bed. When we let reception know they responded quickly and spoke to the guests but on the first night they must have told the guests it was us which resulted in them knocking on our door incessantly until we answered. All this whilst trying to get our 3 year old to bed. The room smelt of dog and there were dog hairs on the beds. The room was not very clean. Ceilings, doors, walls, skiritng, are dirty and there are cobwebs everywhere. The bathroom is so small you can barely get an adult and child in there together which seems odd for a family room. The hot tap of the bath was not sealed in and so moved around. There was mould all round the bathroom including the ceiling. The curtains in the room were falling off the rails which means it let the light from outside in. There is a light on the building right by the room and they were so dirty that I wasn't going to fix them! The toilet seat moved around, the hair dryer didn't work, several lights didn't work and generally the building is in disrepair. Cracks in the walls and ceilings. The most disappointing thing though was the bed. The double bed was completely concave and had springs poking through. It made sleeping on it almost impossible. Reviews from a month ago suggest the managers were aware of this and committed to sorting the mattress but it hadn't been. The single bad had dog hairs and smelt of dog like it hadn't been changed. You can also hear everything from the rooms next door and corridors and that's without the adjoining door rooms (read other Google reviews!). We were looking forward to using the leisure facilties but we looked in - the door to see in is right as you walk into reception.

Noisy radiator in room. No blinds on bathroom window felt a bit strange. Had to drag suitcases up and down stairs (which was fine for us but might be hard for others)

We liked the room and the staff on reception were very helpful. The breakfadt was very good

That we had been lied to over the phone, I phoned weeks before asking if the hotel was disabled friendly and were told that we could have the only disabled room and that yoy had only a few steps up to the rooms. I am writing this review as my husband has been hospitalised due to the steps.

The room was small outdated & dirty all because we travelled with a dog! In which they state they r dog friendly! We asked to upgrade & pay & we was told no because u have a dog

The hotel was great. The staff extremely friendly and helpful, i really enjoyed the breakfast and the extra facilies such as the pool and the steam room were a great boon to a really pleasant stay. I would stay here again.

Some traffic issues due to double parked cars on the roads in but that was nothing to do with the hotel.

Friendly and welcoming staff...a selection of pillows Kelly was especially helpful during each breakfast sitting...helping make my requests happen and the chef for being adaptable!

Convient for a one night stay as attending a function near by.

Value for money. A bit run down, but the sheets and room were very clean. Just old. Reception lady very friendly, could not fault.. also a really nice location. Plenty of others places within a short walk to eat and drink..

The pool is green!! I would not get in it in a million years, you could not see the bottom, very murky.. Guy serving the bar was totally not trained, one of the worst points of Guinness I’ve had. After that i went out to eat and drink

It was disgusting you'll be ill if you use the pool and the jacuzzi DOES NOT WORK no water in it. I was lied to prior to my arrival.

it was a very good experience. the food was excellent and the staff very obliging.

Freshly cooked full English breakfast. Pleasant service. Freshly pressed white table linen. Fortunately the bed was comfortable or I would have moved out!

Compact standard double was really tiny. Would be far too small for 2. No bedside light or socket by the bed. Very old fashioned and the carpet was faded and undulating. Couldn't fit case rack in tiny walk way around bed without blocking wardrobe. Pool far too small - 6 strokes by 5. Clever photography makes it look more appealing!

Lack of staff, choice of drinks, very little, no Baileys, which is a staple, we will always go back, but lots of people complaining and leaving due to lack of service in bar and no atmosphere, have to agree, also cooked breakfast awful

Excellent stay will be heading back soon with the wife for the all inclusive deal

Cleanliness was questionable. Pool & hot tub looked yellow. Did not use the facilities.

Although we were informed that there was no lift available we were not told about the steepness of the stairs or the difficulty of going up and down them as only one handrail which made it hard for my husband or any elderly or disabled person to negotiate safely. There was also a safety issue in our bathroom as there was no safety handle in the bath. I did ask at reception if they had a moveable hand rail but was told there were none available. Booked afternoon tea, after being seated we had to wait over 30 minutes for the beverage to arrive and another 10 minutes or so till the milk came. There was only one member of staff trying to do all the serving. Unfortunately when we went for our evening meal we again had to wait before our order was taken. The soup we ordered was cold and the bread roll had been placed in the soup! The waitress I told about this was quite dismissive and rude. When the fish and chips were brought the fish was inedible. We complained about the meal and after the staff had consulted with the manager we were told we would not be charged for the meal which was a positive. However shortly after we returned to our room one of the staff came to tell us that were unable to have the meal we'd booked for the following evening as they had a private party booking. At this, I went to reception and asked to speak to the manager. The receptionist said there was no manager available until the next evening! After some discussion we decided to leave the next morning as we didn't feel safe and the service was very poor. Never before have we felt the need to leave one of your hotels. We only stayed Thursday 16th and we would appreciate some financial recompense as we had paid for 3 nights.

It was close to where we were going to a 50th birthday party. The outdoor areas were pretty. The girl on reception was friendly.

The carpet had a huge stain as you walked in the room, the furniture felt like it was going to fall apart and the whole place just needed ripping out and starting again.

Room was smelling of bleach but was dirty lots of dust on skirting and carpet stained did not appear hovered. Bed was uncomfortable Could not have a shower it was cold then piping hot for a few minutes breakfast was over cooked and dried food was unpleasant Layout of the room was not the best No lift disliked walking through the bar / lounge area to get to your room

Dinner in the restaurant was very good and plentiful. All the staff were courteous and friendly. Good parking.

Opaque windows in 2 of the rooms meant we could not see out at all. There was no advice regarding this in any of the information. Apparently we overlooked service areas which meant early morning noise. There was also a light outside my bedroom window which was on all night and very bright. The receptionist I spoke to suggested I could have paid for an upgrade. The bed was very hard. The heating was not working in either room. Our third room was not as clean as preferred and, as it was above the pool area, very hot. The rooms were not serviced during our stay, not even to replenish tea/coffee. Meandering corridors and stairs, with many fire doors to negotiate made access quite difficult for one of our group, This hotel is very BROWN, the decor needs updating throughout and adds to the impression of grubbiness.

Handy for the wedding we went too. Bed comfortable Handing for Manchester and Liverpool and very pretty settings.

Looked forward to the pool but after one session because the steps were slippery and I bruised my shin on them I didn’t dare swim again. Changing rooms tired and cramped. We ate out for breakfast as the breakfast seems expensive for what they were.

Although I had mobility problems, staff were very accommodating. Room was comfortable. Breakfast great. Location was just right for where my daughter and I wanted to visit.
