Would highly recommend to stay here. Host is wonderful!

A very clean and well maintained property. Host was extremely responsive on messages. Her grandmother met us at the property to tell us everything and handed us the keys. When we asked about availability of certain grocery items like tea/coffee/sugar etc, they were kind enough to arrange for it so that we did not have to buy it on our way. Kitchen was fully equipped and we were able to cook our meals during our stay. We had a car, and parking was just outside the property which was very convenient. We found chocolates for us when we checked in which was very cute! :)

The only odd bit was that the toilet does not have a wash basin so you have to come out and enter the bathroom/shower room to wash your hands.

Family friendly, good facilities for kids

Good amount of space for a family of 5, with one extra bed to spare. It was enjoyable with facilities to do light cooking and laundry. Our house was next to a stream which was lovely!

Lovely hosts, but room for improvement

Lovely hosts, very friendly and accommodating (allowed us to do early check in). Located in a very quiet area just off the main road, lots of parking space. Only 20 minutes drive from Salzburg. Spacious ground apartment.

Unfortunately we were not entirely pleased with our stay. The bedroom had stuffy air which despite opening the window did not go away (perhaps water leak/ mould in the wall). We had no choice but to sleep on a second bed in the living room to avoid our 1 year old son to breathe that (we had to move topper and linen as the second bed was undone). In the kitchen a few dirty dishes and cutlery pieces. Toilet access with glass door is from the open space kitchen so not ideal if someone is eating.

Wonderful stay.

Was a lovely apartment for our stay. Everything was clean and comfortable. Host easy to communicate with. Area is very quiet. The lounge folded out to a bed so was great when we watched TV. Good kitchen facilities and there was a washing machine/drying rack to use. Would definitely try rebook if visiting again.

The property owner is super friendly and helpful. She facilitated milk for a coffe late in the evening. It was so nice! Since i travelled with elderly people, the owners helped us with our luggage!.

Loved our stay

Our host was fantastic! She met us right away and was very helpful with suggestions on where to eat and what to do. The place was amazing as it had a kitchen so we could cook and there was a living area where we could sit relax and have a meal! We highly recommend it!

The apartment was spotless, very spacious, and wonderfully quiet, yet just steps from a local bus stop. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. Communication with the owner was excellent—quick, helpful, and always easy to reach via WhatsApp. They even arranged an early morning taxi for our departure, which made everything stress-free

Excellent place to stay to visit the area.

Lovely location close to Salzburg. The property is beautiful and very old - going back to medieval times. There is plenty of space and the bedrooms are very comfortable with bathroom for each bedroom. There is a nice outdoor eating space as well with a view over the river.

Great spot if you want to be near Salzburg but not deal with traffic and vehicle parking

Most comfortable beds of the 5 different places we booked on our trip. Apartment was huge and spacious. Owner was great, met us at the property. Parking was easiest we encountered as well. Grateful for a washing machine and drying rack. Easy to public transit to Salzburg… we had to buy tickets from driver. We did go into downtown Freilassing on a Saturday evening and were surprised so little restaurants were open. (Might have been the time of year) but there was a fantastic cafe bakery open Sunday morning.

Overall a unique and adequate stay. My kids liked it!

This place is 800 meters away from Austrian border. Our goal was to use this as our base to visit Salzburg from Germany. Since we had a car, it was an easy drive into Salzburg. I originally thought we wouldn't be able to drive our car over the border (Avis told us we would have to pay extra to do this, and I read somewhere you would need a vignette sticker for your windshield to drive in Austria) so we planned to take the train or bus in, but our host explained those rules only applied on the highways and we would not be needing to take a highway from this apartment. We did have trouble figuring out if we were in the right place upon arrival, as I think we arrived a little early. But since our phones were on airplane mode there was no way to call them. Once they figured out we were here, they were very nice.

I also mainly booked this property knowing there was a washing machine. But since there is not a dryer, this plan did not work out as well as I'd hoped. The apartment was a bit cold (end of March), we turned all the heaters up as high as they would go, but the air was not drying our clothes very fast. Some of the clothes dried overnight but I ended up putting some damp items back into our suitcases. We went to the grocery store to buy some breakfast items, but then the toaster did not work. We tried it several times in various outlets. The beds in one room were more comfortable than the other room. I wished there were extra pillows available (4 total) and did not feel the kitchen was stocked well enough--only one pot, one pan, no spatula, so don't plan to make an elaborate meal here. And the shower did not have a curtain. Not too much of a big deal, but water splattered pretty far and the toilet was facing directly in front of the shower so the person using the toilet is watching the person in the shower and vv.

Comfortable stay in a large apartment in a historical mill.

I loved the building. It was 1,000 years old but it had been renovated with new facilities. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. There was a nice playground attached to the property about 50 meters from Our door and the kids loved playing there and watching the sheep.

Great apartment for a large family or group of friends

Large apartment with lots of seating areas, excellent bedrooms with very comfortable beds, excellent kitchen with everything you need for cooking, good internet, convenient parking. Beautiful place.

Everything was ok, except for a couple of little things, namely: there was not enough cork for the bath, not everywhere was clean enough. In general, everything is fine.

I recommend

the property has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and it looks really nice. the water passing near the window makes you feel like you are in Venice :) the property has a nice play ground with a big trampoline and there is another play ground at about 300m from the location. the flat has two bedrooms with 2 double bed(one of them has also a couch), and a hallway which is like a living room where you can stay. we ask for a cot and everything was prepared even if we arrived 1h30 earlier. the flat was clean, but I think some things you cannot avoid. we had dishwasher and caps for it and also coffee caps.I really like it and for sure I will come back here. It had been nicer for the kids if they would have had some animals. we only found 2 gooses

it was a little cold for my taste between 19 - 20*C but at least we slept good :)

The location was perfect for us as family live across the road! The size of the accommodation and its facilities were great.

We were disappointed that there was just the one toilet amongst us. The advert gave the impression of more than one bathroom. The bed mattresses were a little too soft for our liking, but perhaps that's a personal choice thing. Not enough pillows! Just one each and they were all air. I tried folding it in quarters!

Spacious and functional. the best part were the hosts who were amazing!! Very helpful throughout our stay and picked us up from the train station. The property is right across from basketball courts and a track etc. as well as things for the kids to do at the property. We loved it!

Very good

Very interesting and historical Wassermühlehaus. Best location to reach to the Salzburg region and to the Berchtesgarden region to travel. Just before the cross boarder between German and Austria.

Pay attention and be cautious when you are driving to the direction in and out of the Apartment because there is bicycle road near. The two rooms are located just next to the water stream (I guess it is used for the traditional Wassermühle), so it feels little bit cool sometimes. (But it was never seriously cool in the summer time)

Very nice apartment in a convenient location

Very spacious apartment. Spotlessly clean. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely and warm (we stayed in winter). Great location; just a short walk to the shops and restaurants. The hosts were so friendly and helpful.

Spacious apartment with everything you need

The bed was really comfortable and both the bedroom and living room were a great size. The bathroom has a washing machine which was needed at the end of our trip. The thing we appreciated most about this apartment was the thoughtful inclusions like a clothes hanging rack, sufficient tea towel and fresh cleaning cloths, a full pack of decent laundry detergent and enough toilet paper for a week even though we booked only 2 nights. The host was very welcoming and location was walking distance to restaurants and pubs. Very close to Austrian border and around 15-20 mins drive to Salzburg depending on traffic.

Noisy neighbours could be heard through walls but that can happen anywhere.

This is a secluded large property surrounded by trees and with a creek running on one side. Very quiet throughout the day and night. Plenty of parking is available. Several restaurants and a Beer Garden are within easy walking distance. Pick-up is offered and some offer delivery as well. The apartments appeared to have been renovated and upgraded recently. The staff (the owners I believe) were very friendly and accommodating. There had been a miscommunication after the initial reservation was made regarding the need for an additional apartment, but when we arrived they sorted this out immediately, providing a perfect outcome. Everyone agreed that the next time we visit this region we would return to Freinwhonung Aumühle.
