Would love to go back - it was amazing.

Loved everything. Can't say enough about the apartment cleanliness, design, layout, functionality and most of all the service. The staff were lovely, attentive and extremely responsive to everything we needed.

Unless you are right in town, a lot of the chalets tend to be a little up the mountain... Matthiol wasn't too bad by comparison, but you definitely need to be somewhat fit.

Clean, good location, superb service

Went with my Family and my Partner who is a local and we had such a wonderful time! My family was also pleasantly surprised and said they will definitely book it again for themselves when they visit. We also had the best view to see the Matterhorn from our Livingroom.

Great location with a beautiful view of the mountain. Loved our stay in Zermatt.

Loved the location with a view of the Matterhorn. Spacious living g room and outdoor space. Easily accommodated 6 people. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were able to get a late check out to accommodate our train schedule.

We had a few issues with the property. The bathroom door in the main bedroom was off the hinges making it difficult to use by the group. Although we were told it was a fully equipped kitchen, it did not have enough coffee cups, dish towels and paper goods to accommodate 6 people. The coffee maker was a challenge but we figured it out. A towel rack in the main bathroom was loose. It wasn’t a challenge but a concern.

A Great Place to stay once you get there!!

We rented 2 apartments and everyone loved them! Very spacious, lots of bathrooms, a wonderful balcony with views of the Matterhorn. The staff met us at the train station and helped get us settled. Very close to stores and the Matterhorn gondola station. Also a laundry room was available and a small spa for the use of guests for free!

We did have a little communication issue with staff about additional toilet and facial tissue. Also, this is not the problem of the property, but be aware that to access this lovely place you must climb (with your luggage) a steep incline path and stairs, although the building has an elevator once you get there.

a precious memory for my family

The room is clean and the view from the balcony is very nice.

I could not find the way to get to the apartment by google map even though I put the exact address. Therefore I recommend the apartment owner to put the sign with an arrow on the road or explain on the website in advance for guiding the guests for easy accessbility.

Mattihol paradise

Apartment that we got was the 4 bed duplex on 4th floor. It was fantastic with view of Matterhorn from the living room

Fantastic Family Stay at Matthiol Apartments

We recently stayed with our family at Matthiol Apartments in Zermatt for 2 nights from June 1st to June 3rd. We reserved a spacious 4-bedroom apartment on the 4th floor, and overall our stay was amazing for us. The apartment itself was well-equipped, feeling very modern, clean, and truly like a home away from home with everything we needed, especially the full kitchen. A real highlight was catching a glimpse of the iconic Matterhorn right from the balcony – it was absolutely breathtaking! We also appreciated the additional facilities offered in the wellness center in the property premises - this included sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. The staff were incredibly warm and responsive to our request to needing help with our luggage, making us feel welcomed from the moment we arrived. We found the location to be great overall, offering a peaceful retreat while still providing relatively easy access to Zermatt's attractions with a walk of about 10 mins.

While our stay was overwhelmingly positive, there were a couple of minor points worth mentioning. The apartments are situated on a steep hill, which means there's an uphill walk, sometimes involving stairs, to reach the property. While walking this may not be a major issue, this was a challenge for us given that we had lots of luggage and our party comprised of a toddler and seniors. We had read on this from other reviews, and hence requested for pickup and luggage assistance ahead of time. The property staff were attentive and responsive so arranged for both for us which was a big savior! Also, while the apartments are fantastic for relaxing, if you're looking for extensive evening entertainment right on-site, it might be limited as Zermatt's main attractions tend to close in the early evening. Lastly, these apartments don't have a fan or air conditioning (common in Zermatt) so visiting the city in warmer months may not be ideal. Overall, these were minor issues that didn't detract from our wonderful experience. I'd highly recommend Matthiol Apartments for any family looking for a comfortable and well-appointed base for their Zermatt adventure!

A nice and relaxing stay

The apartment is quite spacious, perfectly for our family(a group of seven) get together. The Matterhorn view from the balcony is absolutely amazing, we enjoyed very much. Also it’s very nice that there is laundry machine available and free to use.

A small complaint is that the air circulation is not good on the second floor of the apartment. It gets quite hot even during the night. My niece ended up sleeping on the couch in the living room. Also, the apartment is suited up on a hill, requires a bit of strenuous stair climbing, so people with knee problem might keep that in mind before your booking.

The property itself was amazing

The location being so far from the main road was a little difficult with strollers. There is a section of stairs that would benefit from having a ramp because we had to lift strollers and luggage. However the staff was exceptional and incredibly helpful.

Great stores in Zermatt. Transportation was easy to and from activities.

We called to say we were on our way by train from Tasch and someone was there waiting as soon as we arrived they walked us up to the apartment and showed us in. The apartment was very spacious with a nice deck and slight view of the peak of Matterhorn mountain.

Didn’t realize what a hike it was to get to the apartment. A little difficult with our luggage’s. Disappointed that the floors were not clean and dust on the bathroom walls. Many broken accessories in the bathrooms.

Good stay overall but check that communications are crystal clear!

Perfect views of Zermatt and the Matterhorn from the balcony on a clear day, the two 4-bedroom apartments were a comfortable size for our extended family, in fact this was one of the few places that could accommodate the size of our party with all the facilities we wished for! Good access to the communal washing machine and the fully equipped kitchen was great for making light meals including food for our babies. Fairly close to the supermarkets too which was lovely. Some of our family members enjoyed the jacuzzi as well.

It wasn't the cleanest of apartments - the areas under the couch and coffee table weren't swept, which were ok for the walking toddlers and the infants who were not yet mobile but my crawling baby picked up a lot of dust crawling around. The extraction fan in the non-ensuite bathroom wasn't great either, so the grouting could do with more of a scrub. We had issues with transport pick up/drop off and the concierge service - be sure to get mobile contact details prior to arrival because there was apparently a different train station exit to be picked up from (not the main exit) and the only way we could contact them was through the booking.com messaging system since the apartment line isn't manned during off-peak season! We got the contact details of the lovely apartment manager after check in but this was after over an hour's wait for the pickup with multiple babies who were getting fussy. Had similar issues with drop off to the station at the end of our stay, luckily we arranged it with the apartment manager because we had given our travel details through the booking.com messaging system well in advance but they only responded to us about transport arrangements hours after we had already left. Another minor point, the tumble dryer did not give accurate timings (washing machine was ok) and there were no clothes airers for each apartment, only the communal airers. A bit awkward to have people from different apartments standing around waiting for the tumble dryer to finish hours after it was supposed to.

the apartment is very well made and all the minute details of comfortable stay of the guests is very well taken care of. The management was very kind and flexible on each count , be it late checkout or porter service and drop off. We really appreciate it and had a pleasant goodbye to the apartment.

Great apartment!

Fantastic apartment that’s spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking (although strangely, there was no chopping board) and you could see the Matterhorn from our balcony. The location is also great for the Sunnegga lift.

The only things that would have made our stay even better would be more pillows and drinking glasses, but otherwise, it’s great and we have already booked again for next year!

It definitely was an amazing life experience overall, but a bit on the pricey side.

The property was very clean, well-equipped and with a luxurious touch overall. Perfect location, 5-10 min walk from the train to Sunnegga, very well connected to the Zermatt area and with a great view. Excellent service and communication with the hosts.

Location is close to the funicular, which is wonderful. The accommodations are clean and spacious. The furniture and the set up the apartment was very comfortable.

The walk up to the apartments is a long tough incline which is not desirable for older adults. The sleeping pillows were not comfortable.

the property was modern and clean. it was open with lovely windows. the location allowed east access to skiing via the ski bus. the apartment comfortably accommodated 7 people

the kitchen could have been better appointed, with dish and glassware for at least the number of people in the reservation.
