Excellent budget accommodation. Wayan and his family were most welcoming and went out of their way to accommodate guests. Pemuteran is a lovely community/village.

Great stay

Excellent stay at Van Karning Bungalow: very proper rooms decorated with fresh flowers, beautiful outdoor showers, good breakfast, location close to the beach and restaurants. The owner organized us a dream program at fair prices: snorkel at Majagan, some spa treatments and a transfer to our next destination. Thank you very much, it was all great!

It seems pricey in view of ineffective aircon, running water issues, and pH of pool (causing eyes to sting). Empty bottles and rubbish were not removed from the outdoor table outside the room.

Beautiful, clean, super helpful and just outstanding really!

Loved this place, Baggi and his family were so helpful with booking a trip to Menjangan, finding a scooter to rent and even transport to our next destination. I could not recommend Van Karning more!

We only stayed one night due to having other places booked, sad it wasn’t more nights.

Very happy stay. Four people on a diving trip. Beds comfortable air conditioning works. Nice Swimming Pool located in gardens. Good breakfast. Two nice restaurants within 100 m and other restaurants around Highly recommended and would stay again

Nicely tended garden, A/c, big fruit plate for breakfast, swimming pool. It’s off the main road, not that far from the beach. Several warungs close by to eat at. Really it’s in the middle of the village, lots of roosters

The location was 5 minutes from the beach and two minutes to the main road. A quiet setting with 9 typical older style bungalows in a garden setting. Just outside Warungs of exceptional food quality.

Owner makes your Bali stay a memorable one!

I had the pleasure of spending 2 weeks at Van Karning Bungalows and it was a delightful experience. The owner, Bagi, made the 4.5-hour one-way trip to the airport to pick me up at a very reasonable cost. I arrived at a delightful mini resort reflecting a Balinese style of living. From the bathroom with a unique open-air shower surrounded by lush shrubs and coconut trees to the colorful bushes made my stay a pleasure. I was a solo traveler and Bagi made sure I experienced all that Bali has to offer from viewing temples to soaking in hot springs to driving up mountains just to mention a few. These activities were over two 10-hour tours Bagi offered at a very reasonable cost. The complementary breakfast is a nice bonus and includes a fruit tray and a choice of eggs or banana pancakes. I gained a lot of knowledge from Bagi about the Hindu religion and he even introduced me to a temple opening ceremony as well as a cremation. The location is in a quiet setting with an array of excellent eateries nearby. Other amenities such as the swimming pool is great for taking a dip on a hot day. Also, the beach is only a 7-minute walk away. I highly recommend Van Karning Bungalows as an excellent place to stay. Bagi and his wife go out of their way to make sure your Bali vacation is a memorable one.

Nice room beautiful house warm host in the center

The room is very clean, and spacious, with a nice bathroom and airconditioner. They also have hot water. The garden is nice and green, with a plunge pool that you can enjoy yourself among the green space. The breakfast has two eggs, toast, some fruit, and coffee. fresh and clean.

There are many chickens and dogs around (from other houses in the same neighborhood) and they crow and bark all night. But it is the countryside, I understand that. The internet is good enough to work, but not good enough for Zoom calls. I had a call with my client and it constantly dropped.

We loved EVERYTHING. This family owned treasure is heavenly, quiet, spotlessly clean and set in a dreamy traditional Balinese garden. Our breakfasts were freshly prepared, delicious and served everyday at a time of our choosing, at a lovely table just outside our room. The small pool is immaculately kept & a welcome, cool plunge after a long day hiking or diving. The family who own and run the place are friendly and helpful & we thank them for our wonderful stay!
