Great, beyond words, open hearted staff. Rats are a real problem if you dont fall asleep completely drunk.

Funky Place definitely has a lot of potential. The vibe is very community-oriented — it’s the kind of spot where you’ll feel comfortable if you enjoy a laid-back, social atmosphere with locals and travelers mixing together. The location is great, right by the seaside, and the food is genuinely good. The staff were also really great — especially the night shift team working at the entrance bar, they made the atmosphere even better.

That said, it’s still a bit rough around the edges. During the night I could hear rats, and even saw some on the walls, which was really unpleasant. For now, I’d only recommend it to people who are comfortable with a more “raw, nature-meets-human” type of experience and don’t mind that side of things.

Nice for party but too dirty and uncomfortable

The team was nice and welcoming, they were kind and very attentive to us. The place is eclectic and "funky", so the decor was spot on. The live music and the party mood were great (know that you shouldn't come here looking for a quiet night).

The food and cocktails are very mediocre. The tequila used for the margaritas was of very poor quality. The breakfast coffee was disgusting. The pizza was just okay. The room was neat but the bathroom was very uncomfortable, the toilet water was too high so you couldn't sit on the seat without touching it with your bottom. The place in general is dirty and unhygienic. When we were having dinner we saw cocroaches and rats walking through the walls and roof around us. Disgusting.

Beautiful property and area. So good for the price paid. Best place to go for evening. Everything is very clean, right by the beach. Staff knowledgeable.

Staff are very flirty with solo female travellers, maybe some won’t mind this but just putting it out there.

The staff is just amazing there. They are so kind and they come to work with a smile. I was one of the only guests, due to low season and the staff was taking their time talking to me. The dorms are very nice and clean. Also the shower was very good. I would def. stay there again and can totally recommend.

Price and location: just 1 min to the beach and to the boats which are starting their dolphins watching tours at 7am in front of this hotel/bar.

It was nice but enough

This is my 3rd time in Funky's bringing in a group, but I must say it will probably be the last, I think I have given too many chances. The local Balinese staff are so nice though, the rooms are super nice after they got renovated, the beds are comfy and it's very close to the beach.

1- I had a clear request on booking.com and it was ignored for two days, no one even read it and as I arrived, clearly my request was not met. 2- We found a way lower number of staff than the amount of work that needs to be done, so we had to wait for hours to get served as we arrived. 3- For the third time, I asked politely and clearly to lower down the band sound and make them switch off the music by 11pm, because we are all in Lovina to take the boat ride in the early morning, they said yes we will do but the music went on until 1am, and some of us couldn't sleep all night because of that for the second time in a row.

We got welcome snacks and drinks and felt very welcome. Nice lighting in the rooms and the whole area as well as decoration. Nice staff with lots of Energy.

Really cool party hostel (when busy)

Great hostel with super friendly staff, lots of places to hang out, extensive menu and good location.

AC would be better than a fan and the live music was a little loud later on - especially since they were playing to no one but the staff.

Very good

Great place with a huge seating area (and a treehouse with hammocks!) where you can chill. The back exit goes directly to the beach. Every evening was live music where not only the hostel residents go to but other people from nearby accomodations go there as well. The owner and staff are funny

Extremely well decorated and a nice and comfortable room. The hostel itself had many nice places to relax and sit back. Very close to the beach and the little center of Lovina. A nice vibe and a good location for a drink with the live music and people. The hotel has put in a lot of work to maintain the place and even renovate the place during Covid, and it shows. Would recommend it to everyone.

Only thing that I was missing in the room is that it did not have curtains. Felt a little bit watched. But it is an option to hang something in front of the door so people can not look inside.

Funky spot with great food off the Main Street in Lovina

Insane decor, great location, superb food, very chill and unique atmosphere. Try the kebabs and the Hummus, you won’t be disappointed.

They told us first that their credit card machine wasn’t working, although it clearly was, and then they wanted to charge us an extra 3% card fees, which they waived in the end after long persuasion.

Die zwei Ratten, die ganz gemütlich vor dem Dorm im ersten Stock waren. Eigentlich auch relativ unbeeindruckt von meinem plötzlichen Erscheinen! Der Junge Nann bot mir sofort einen private room mit besseren Abgrenzung nach außen an. Am nächste Morgen beim Frühstück spazierte eine weitere Ratte im Kaffee auf den Balken herum! Würde dort nicht mehr buchen!

Slechte faciliteiten, rioollucht, dunne muren waardoor je de buren woordelijk hoort Elke avond tot 1 uur snachts ZEER luide muziek Teveel pornografische en vrouw onvriendelijke teksten tegen de muur Ontbijt is mager en het geld niet waard Geen warm water Mijn kamer bleek geen airconditioning te hebben (was wel zo geadverteerd) dus ik moest upgraden voor 50k per nacht extra Ik betaalde bijna 500k per nacht, een belachelijke prijs als je het vergelijkt met omliggende guest houses. Ook voor massages rekenen ze een prijs +25% ten opzichte van gemiddeld. Personeel zijn een soort 'proppers' die je vooral savonds proberen in de party te krijgen. Op een gegeven moment is dat irritant. Ik was blij toen ik weer mocht uitchecken
