The location was perfect, and the cottage was very cozy and quirky, which we loved. 20-minute easy walk into town, and we had some brilliant walks as well. The Avon River walk, especially. Bell pub close by very friendly and good food as well. Will definitely return for another visit. I highly recommend this for a place to stay, we loved it.
Nothing, everything was great.

Hathaway Hamlet is a beautiful old cottage in a fabulous location! Easily the oldest property we've ever stayed in. We stayed for five nights as my husband was working away nearby. For me it was a bit of a reading retreat. I loved the quirky features and the four poster bed in particular. The little court yard on the front was lovely for sitting out in the sunshine reading my book. Me and my 14 year old Shih Tzu enjoyed little walks past Anne Hathaway's cottage and the surrounding area. We didn't venture into Stratford on this occasion but we have been many times before and love the area.
Unfortunately I had an issue with the washing machine in the property. Basically it wouldn't rinse, drain, or spin so the door locked with it full of water and our laundry inside. This was Wednesday afternoon and we tried every setting to get it going again but to no avail so I contacted the owner. He couldn't get anyone out until the following Monday! We were leaving on Saturday. So I was asked to drain it myself via the filter which resulted in the kitchen being flooded and me having to use all the towels to clean it up (there is no mop in the property unfortunately). Thankfully it was sunny so I could throw the dripping wet washing over the clothes maid outside, otherwise goodness knows what I would have done with it. The owner did send the housekeeper to provide extra towels for the remainder of our stay but some of our clothes were ruined as they'd been stuck in the water for so long.
This doesn't take away the fact that it's a beautiful cottage though.

We loved everything ( everything) and will be back if prices still the same for sure - this was exactly what we wanted and needed and Raven out dog LOVED it
My wife loved it and I loved it ( I am the difficult one to satisfy!)
The only thing we struggle with was the road next door as quite busy and we were in a dead period = Christmas ( cars can go super fast )
Also this is a positive and can be a negative too- I loved the hamlet , I really do , beautiful - but it is not close -by ( not far but not super close) so we had to take some taxis here and there during the week when we couldn’t be bothered to walk under the rain or late at night ( add between £7-10 each way each time)
And we struggled with the company looking after the cottage as they didn’t know the answers to my questions - I had to call lisa ( owner ) directly to know if there was a cafetière ! The company told me no - they have 0 clue of the facilities in the cottage - it is a shame as the cottage facilities are good and they have a great folder with everything - ( but now we know for next time!) like simple stuff like there is a washing machine but not washing tablets so bring them - for us it was important as we travelled by public transport from London so we don’t have a car to carry stuff -

Characterful cottage. Warm. Big sofas. Like staying at Grandma's - homely feel made up for dated kitchen and carpets. Cottage has tremendous kerb appeal. Good cycle routes and close to many characterful towns and cities and eateries in Stratford-upon-Avon and beyond. Peaceful area with a few local dog walks. All in all I'd go back as I loved the characterful feel.
Very low hot water pressure, small double, BT Home Hub 4 doesn't work properly with iPhone and Mac Book, old TV. No dishwasher. Downstairs bathroom. Very uneven sloping floor in bedroom (probably not great for elderly as carpet also little slippery) Local pub a chain - lacks character and offers 'plastic' food only. Nearby cafe at Anne Hathaway's cottage though has great home-made soup.

Absolutely beautiful cottage. Felt like a home from home. Every thing we needed shopping wise was only a mile away. All the history in the area was all within walking distance and we love the Victorian Christmas market in Stratford, so we always come up here this time of year. Such a cozy little cottage full of character and history. Always wanted to stay somewhere like this rather than a modern hotel or B&B. Will definitely be back sometime.
