I Tre Oleandri Varenna

This is perhaps the most impressive place we have stayed in the dozens of countires we have visited in the last few years. The hosts Alfina and her husband truly care for your comfort and experience and do much more than almost anyone. The apartment is in a great location, comes filled with food and drink, very clean interior and bathrooms, and a wonderful outside private yard. They had prosecco on ice waiting for us upon check in and when we had a challenging time finding transport to the train to depart, they volunteered to take us. We felt like family more than guests. Wish there were more people like them in this world.

Alfina was an exceptional host. She had catered for every need. We arrived at the time we mentioned and she went through all the details of how things work in the apartement. She even had fresh fruit, a bottle of prosecco on ice and the fridge was fully stoked with water, salumi, cheese, yoghurt etc. She was very helpful with her suggestions on what to do around the area and more than happy to help with any querry or need we had. The actual appartment has all the amenties you need and well stocked with food, towels, bathroom products. You name it, Alfina has thought it through. Its like being in a 5 star hotel, even better. The beach is a 3 minute walk, so beautful and close. I took the opportunity to go for an early morning swim and the water was just the right temperature. The views of the mountains and the lakes were magical when viewing it from the lake. Also the town centre is 300m down the road and has access to the ferries, reaturants and the lovers walk. Its so easy that it makes you want to live there. We had a blackout with the electricty about 30 minutes after arriving. Alfina sent me a text saying it was a whole section of the village that had been affected but it should be back shorlty. So we decided to go and explore the village of Varrena, once we returned the power went out again. We decided that it was late and went to bed at 10pm. When the power came back she sent a text but I had my phone in the lounge so I didn't see it till the morning. She sent all the details how to activate the switch board and everything was back to normal. She was very attentive and an amazing host.

I have nothing negative to say about Alfina. However Lake Como is an expensive place so expect to pay top dollar for most things. Alfina has a QR code which will help you navigate you through all the restaurants, taxis and other important things that you should know about the palce

We absolutely loved our stay! The host were incredibly warm, welcoming, and thoughtful from the moment we arrived. The home was spotless, beautifully maintained, and full of charm. The location was perfect—just a short walk to the waterfront, restaurants, and ferry, yet peaceful and relaxing. Every detail made us feel at home, and the hospitality truly made our visit to Varenna unforgettable. She was able to give suggestions all around and would recommend to everyone to stay with them!

Honestly, very little! If anything, we only wish we could have stayed longer. Everything exceeded our expectations.

The owner went above and beyond. Had cold champagne and wine for us. All kinds of milk for the coffee and cereal provided. Fresh fruit and pastries as well. Great air conditioning. Screens on windows outdoor garden area. 2 bathrooms and showers. And a washer dryer. Walking distance to the ferry. The foam mattress was a little soft for me but fine for my daughter. They also had a pull out couch
