Breakfast and views were amazing. The room and facilities were equally amazing. Bene and all of the staff were incredibly kind and helpful as well.
Honestly, it was all outstanding. However, there was a slight odor in the bathroom. This may have been due to the rain.

The view of the valley and the jungle is incredible.
Beautiful garden.
Friendly Manager
We were offered another room when we complained.
We booked the best room they had so it wasn't cheap and unfortunately the room was dirty and needed a good clean and updating.
The curtains were very dirty and we found multiple dead cockroaches wrapped inside them, I am aware we are next to the jungle so bugs are to be expected. My bigger issue with the curtains was that they were useless, there wasn't enough of them to cover all the windows so you were woken at sunrise every morning.
Glass front door onto the path so no privacy.
We complained and were offered a different room but this smelt very strong of damp so we declined and stayed where we were.
Only a half wall between toilet room and the bedroom so get to know your partner very intimately.
Location quite far out of Ubud and always busy traffic to get in to the centre.
The pool water was very cloudy for all our stay so wasn't inviting.
Aircon didn't work on arrival and then was locked on freezing cold.

Absolutely everything. The villas are absolutely outstanding in every way. The staff couldn’t be more attentive and the food every day is just delicious. We saw monkeys on our terrace it was just a dream.
Nothing . It was incredible . Had a full body massage, lots of gorgeous food, waited on hand and foot. We felt like royalty.

The best villa I have ever stayed in my entire life .
So so beautiful.

The location, so near the forest & nature! The staff were all so kind & helpful! The food was fresh & exceptional! Our driver to & from the airport was also our tour guide for seeing some great sights, Githa was super friendly and so helpful too! The pools were clean, well maintained but, not full of chemicals. The massages were fantastic too!
The only challenge was the steep stairs. I have a few knee issues and we stayed in the waterfall room, the bottom of the property, it was doable but, if we went back I would request a level or two up!

The owner was friendly and kind
It isn’t a 4 star for sure. Value for money so poor. We booked this hotel because the very high rate, I don’t understand how this place have it, because in my opinion it really don’t deserve it.

Our stay at Villa Kalisat Resort was nothing short of magical. The location is absolutely majestic, with breathtaking views that make you feel like you’re living inside nature itself.
The room was beautiful, comfortable, and had that perfect mix of luxury and Balinese charm. The whole atmosphere was peaceful, warm, and truly unforgettable.
A very special mention to Krishna, who took exceptional care of us throughout our stay. His hospitality, kindness, and attention to detail made the experience even more special.
If you want a stay that feels unique, serene, and deeply connected to the beauty of Bali, Villa Kalisat is the perfect choice. Highly recommend! 🌿✨

Breakfast was healthy and fresh. The view was AMAZING! especially when we could watch the monkeys in the trees over the valley. The room was very comfortable and we appreciated having our beds made every day. All the staff were so friendly, helpful and thoughtful. Bene had great tips on where to go. We were always greeted with 'welcome home' from everyone when we came in each day which was so nice.

Breathtaking views overlooking to a canyon and the jungle—and hardly any bugs! The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, assisting with our day trips by organising cars, motorbikes, and recommending places to visit. The breakfast was delicious - a perfect start to each day.
There were quite a lot of steep steps to our room—but we were aware of that beforehand.

Amazing views of river and the jungle and the rooms had beautiful decor
And the staff were lovely
The 40 stairs we had to walk up to breakfast but if your fit and young it’s no problem and definitely worth it

This was the most beautiful property we stayed at in Bali. The views are beyond words, the rooms are so nice, and the staff is exceptional. It really doesn't get better than this! I will definitely be staying at Villa Kalisat in the future!
The road up to the property is quite bad (potholes large enough to total a car) and we discovered that not all Gojek drivers are willing to make the journey. No fault of the property, but something to be aware of.

Amazing spot overlooking forest valley. Breakfast was superb but what makes it special are the staff! Manager especially (forgot his name) and the owner herself, all staff live in the compound and make you feel like family.
We had no problem but it is steep in the complex, wouldn't be too suitable for little kids (ours are 11 and 14) or anyone with mobility issues.
Traffic into town was a nightmare, drives you nuts!, leave early to avoid otherwise you'll be travelling 100metres in 10mins as you get close.

A very warm welcoming from the whole team and staff from the start to end. The breakfast is a 3 course sensation, which you eat overlooking a gorge thick with jungle forest. The hotel is simply wonderful and beautiful, and we were so lucky to have got in for 4 nights due to a cancellation. A huge thanks to Dewa for all of the suggestions of things to do in the local area. The owner and owner's husband were also incredibly friendly and couldn't have done more to support us in trying to resolve some bank issues. Thank you for a magical and soul nourishing getaway after a hectice time in Seminyak!

It was our second visit at Villa Kalisat and it was even better than the last time. This place is so beautiful, the nature around but also all the well-chosen furniture and decoration. On top the staff is just amazing, so caring and friendly. It really felt like a home.

The location and view are exceptional, breathtaking view over the jungle and very quiet! So lovely being a little out of Ubud as it felt so remote. Staff and service was world class! All staff were so attentive, food was amazing, loved every second of our stay!
It was all great.

Overlooking the valley was pretty. Seeing the wildlife around the hotel such as; monkeys, lizards, frogs and bats.
Lack of consistency and transparency on costs of facilities, activities and taxis. Rubbish and waste everywhere within the resort and surrounding area. Daily hassle when leaving and arriving the hotel by the woman who has a little shop within hotel grounds. Everyday shouting at us to try and buy something and follow us outside the villa. Facilities and quality of the room were poor considering the nightly price we paid compared to other hotels we stayed at within Bali.

You feel like you’re in the middle of the jungle. Excellent view from the room. The family operating the hotel was great. Take your time to talk to the woman renting out bikes and selling snacks. Also great the dogs and other family members walking down to the hotel and the rooms.

Beautiful place to stay, on a cliff with amazing views! Hotel, the room, and facilities are perfect. We used the spa and restaurant. The staff are friendly and make sure you have a great experience. We highly recommend Villa Kalisat, especially if you like to experience a friendly local Balinese experience! A place where you feel welcome and comfortable. We will be back for sure 😁

Hotel manager Deva was so nice and cared much about all of our needs. He even organized lots of activities that we enjoyed as a family. All of the hotel staff were very thoughtful. The view was incredibly good. Rooms were clean. Even some monkeys visited our balcony in the early morning. Amazing stay for nature lovers. The breakfast was good. I will definitely recommend this hotel to embrace the beauties of Ubud.
Some rooms may not be comfortable for people with knee problems since the hotel has steep steps.

A magical place! It feels almost unreal with the stunning view of the jungle that greets you as soon as you step into the villa’s entrance. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. You completely immerse yourself in the atmosphere and spirit of Bali. The staff were very kind and dedicated to making our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The food was delicious and varied, and the spa treatments were wonderful. It was an incredible experience overall. I would definitely come back! Thank you!

The location is heaven on earth, we already can’t wait to go back. Dewa welcomed us into his community with open arms, allowing us to be part of amazing spiritual moments which we’ll remember forever. The forest around you, the people you meet and the sound of the water from the river below makes this place by far our favourite in all of Bali.
It’s perfect! A little far out from Ubud but still so easy to get around.

View, location, staff
You have to pass through a yard to get to the villa, which i found a bit weird and uncomfortable to see all this people every day, I felt like i invaded their place daily. I understand the idee of the community and showing a real Balinese family life but for us was i bit too much.

Wow wow wow! The peacefulness, the tranquility, the views, the wonderful staff!! It was a truly magical place to unwind! We just wish we could have stayed longer!
The noises during the day, but especially at night….frogs, geckos, circadas……I loved it!
The food was lovely, the breakfasts plentiful, close to Ubud town and we walked out of the hotel and watched locals tending to the rice paddies.
The lights in the rooms were beautiful!!! I wish I could have purchased one. The glow in our room (which was huge I must say) was lovely!
Massive bathroom, two huge beds (we were friends travelling) and the pool area was perfect!
The massages………total relaxation! Thank you so much for a truly memorable experience!
Absolutely nothing!

The location is genuinely stunning. The photos are great but don't do it justice. Having breakfast with that view, spotting monkeys in the valley is a special experience. The walk down to the stream is well worth it. Only 15 mins taxi into Ubud central and we were glad to be away from Ubud central. Well placed to get an early taxi to Trita Empul (water Palace) before the crowds arrive. Beds were comfortable. Staff very friendly and accommodating.

Villa Kalisat is a charming boutique resort outside of Ubud, overlooking a deep gorge with a rushing river below. While Ubud is full of traffic and tourists, this 7-room resort, with two pools, a spa, and a lovely dining area is an oasis of peace, comfort, gardens and Balinese decor. The owner is attentive and helpful. The staff couldn't be nicer. The meals were great. We hurried back from Ubud to this gorgeous retreat. Highly recommended!
We did a little tour around Ubud with a driver. The temple we went to was crowded, and the walk around the rice terrace had a paid entry.! Yikes! This was a Disneyesque version of rice paddies. Instead of a quiet walk through the countryside (which I did decades ago in Bali), we walked into a tourist trap with women renting long dresses to swing over crowded rice fields and take selfies. Yuck! I had expected that the tranquil Bali of my youth was long gone, but this was terrible. We quickly retreated to the lovely Villa Kalisat. The villa was fabulous, but move north, west or east for more authentic culture and scenic experiences.

The resort is in a very serene and peaceful environment. The sound of the waterfall is soothing. The staffs were friendly and responsive. They prepare fresh food from natural ingredients.
Location is bit isolated. And from the road, one has to cross past a series of local tenements with farm animals and some local artisans weaving dry leaves before reaching the actual resort.
Less option for vegetarians.

+ The location is absolutely amazing. Still close to Ubud yet on the edge of a jungle with a stunning view. The most beautiful hotel we've ever stayed at!
+ Pools are very clean and comfy
+ The rooms are really pretty and designed with a lot of attention to detail
+ Breakfast and the welcome drink are amazing
+ Go down to the river to find a private paradise with huge- and smaller waterfalls and a place to swim
- The food (lunch/dinner) is okayish but as mentioned by some others in the reviews, the value-for-money is poor.
We've had better food in/around Ubud for half the price. There are cheaper options (Warungs) around the corner.
