Bridle Lodge Apartments

The location was excellent for the South Pier. Almost on top of the train station but extremely quiet. The host was very quick to respond to any questions. The location for food and entertainment was perfect. The property was spacious, clean and bright.

It would have been safer for cooking if there was a pair of oven gloves. A spare tea towel would have been appreciated.

It wasn’t to far away from all the main attractions, but still a quiet area

I liked the kitchen, very organised, clean, spacious, however the the bin was quite small and I couldn't find bin bags. Shower room was very clean and spacious. However on arrival there was no hot water so we couldn't shower and wash with hot water. There were group of men's who told us they are maintenance guys and look after the lodge were helpful and friendly and sorted the issue we had with the shower. The location was perfect as it was wasn't far from the beach and luckily we were able to park with one space available.

The 2 double bed were two small for a family of 5. It mentioned extra large, so that was misleading, plus it mentioned sofa bed which wasn't there. The carpet is very very old, it had a lot of dirt and dust. I saw a black bottle cap and dried up puff pastry under bed side draw in the main room. I am not sure how long it was there. I didn't touch it so it's still probably there. I did request for the rooms to be extra clean and dirt free because my children have dust allergy. Overall the carpet could definitely do with a replacement, I would recommend wooden/laminate flooring. Plus the floor boards were squeaky and not level. There was quite a lot of noise in the building too e.g. door slamming, movement upstairs, alarm going off in another building. So my children found it very disturbing and frightening and so did I. It did say there was a patio with seating outside which isn't true. Also when you step out of the lodge you can smell drugs e.g. weed, I was horrified. Another concern I had was the main front door lock code was the same as our room door code. This was not acceptable, anybody could walk in. Why would you have the same code as the main door. It didn't make sense, so in terms of security I was very worried.
