The service at this hotel truly deserves five stars. The staff were friendly, patient, always smiling, and handled all our requests very professionally. Although the property shows a bit of age, the resort is well-maintained and feels well cared for. The rooms are spacious, and it’s the kind of paradise you could stay in forever without wanting to leave. You can spend the whole day enjoying the pool, watching the sea, or relaxing at the spa. Dinner was amazing — we had some of the best food we’ve ever tasted on our first trip to Bali.
The only small downside was that the room key was a bit too big, but everything else was perfect

Loved every bit of this stay!! Gorgeous property, was the only one walking on the black sand beach. Loved the pool and the restaurant served delicious food and drinks!
Also loved the excursions! The staff are lovely and so accomodating.
Didn’t stay long enough 🥺

A wonderful and tranquil place to spend a week doing nothing but relaxing. We visited as part of our honeymoon. The staff and service was excellent - we were greeted with some refreshments at reception. On entering the villa we were surprised with a a bath decorated with rose petals and left with a fruit hamper and cake in celebration of our recent wedding. The food and drinks in the restaurant were very nice, albeit a little on the expensive side. The villa was fantastic, nice large pool, very private and filled with the sound of the crashing waves of the sea. There wasn't much around other than a restaurant a 5 min walk away but we knew that already, and is why we picked the place.
Some areas of the resort and villa looked a little tired and could have done with some restoration. The patio of our villa was cracked front to back and some parts of the villa could have done with some refurbishment. Some of the footpaths around the resort were cracked, had hols and were in need of repair. However, these were very minor points, could be considered adding to the rustic feel of the place and don't let these put you off.

The rooms are superb, Restaurant is very enjoyable, everything is very quiet, excellent staff. The fitness facility is excellent for a small resort. The private pools (in some units) and great! Surfing looked to be very good!
Beach is beautiful but gets a lot of trash everyday (which they pick up every day) and is dangerous to swim in at least during our visit in October.

Beautiful pool villas, designed for privacy and with a lush garden. Some features were a bit tired (e.g. floorboards/ceiling could use fixing), but the cleanliness (sparkling windows!) made up for this. As there are mainly pool villas we didn't see many of the other guests, and it felt a bit quiet at times - but this was a good thing too.
Staff were polite and promptly responded to our requests with a smile. Turndown service was a nice touch.
Due to its remote location there aren't many food options. The on-site restaurant was good but quite expensive, and empty most of the time. Breakfast was good and the a la carte meant less food waste.

The WakaGangga Hotel is a truly beautiful escape. If you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of cities like Canggu, this is the perfect spot. Nestled along the coastline and surrounded by lush greenery, it offers peace and serenity in every direction. While the beach isn’t suitable for swimming (it’s unpatrolled and can be unsafe), the sunsets are absolutely breathtaking.
The staff are warm, attentive, and always ready to help — whether it’s organising a buggy, providing local recommendations, or even receiving a Gojek delivery on your behalf. The private villas are spacious and comfortable, some featuring it's own private pool, soft beds, and large, airy bathrooms that make relaxing effortless.
The restaurant serves an extensive range of delicious food and drinks, and room service is available if you prefer to dine in. The on-site spa is another highlight, offering a wonderful selection of relaxation treatments.
As a solo traveller, I always felt completely safe and well cared for at WakaGangga. It’s a peaceful hideaway that I’d happily return to again.
My only suggestion would be to apply a heat-reflective coating around the pool area, as the stones become very hot under the sun and uncomfortable to walk on or sit on the edge.

We loved everything about it. The privacy, the cleanliness, the facilities, the kind and friendly staff. We felt we were away from things, people, and a sense of seclusion.
We could actually stop here, relax, and breathe.
Nothing.
We truly enjoyed it.

Highly recommended, stayed in private villa with pool, staff are perfect, very hospitable regarding everything from in room service (food was delicious), pick up and drop off services to locations. Will definitely visit with my family.
I loved everything

From start to finish it was a really nice place to holiday. A peaceful location, good to be away from the busyness and crowds of the bigger tourist towns and cities. The staff were all very nice, pleasant and helpful. The villa with pool was better than expected, so private and spacious. The restaurant and other services were great too.
Not a big issue in the villa, but one door or window with an insect screen would have been good for fresh air at night time when you don't want the AC running. There was a mosquito net over the bed, but it affects airflow.
The immediate approach road outside the Waka entrance could be improved, we walked on that a lot and compared to the close by village, it kind of let the image down and not really nice to walk on.

The service was exceptional, the staff members were attentive and friendly. They went out of their way to ensure we had a beautiful experience.
The rubbish on the beach was really the only thing we didn’t like - however this is not the fault of the hotel.

I loved everything about WakaGangga. Our room was fantastic, and the private pool and garden surrounds just so special. Breakfast was more than adequate. And the restaurant with a superb beach view, we loved. All staff were exceptionally friendly and went above and beyond to help with anything we needed.
The staff went out of their way to keep the beach in front of the resort free of rubbish. Unfortunately rubbish is a huge problem everywhere.

The staff are amazing and couldn't do enough for you, the hotel and the feel of it is fantastic, an oasis tucked away in the jungle, yet close enough to everything you need. From the moment we arrived you could feel yourself relax. We've stayed in hotels from Hawaii to Hong Kong and the Maldives and I would rate this as one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. Before we even arrived the staff were already assisting us with our stay, from sorting out cars for us and even a hairdresser, they could not do enough.
The food was excellent, and no it isn't fast (as mentioned in another comment) but the attention to detail and again, going above and beyond was so evident. We found there to be plenty to choose from including delicious local dishes and international alternatives, we also found the portion sizes to be more than enough.
The only thing which isn't a reflection on the hotel, is that the stunning and I mean stunning stretch of beach the hotel looks over, is not lifeguarded and so swimming isn't advisable. However, the hotel pool set in the tranquil gardens made up for this.

Very nice bungalow in a beautiful garden setting. Beautiful shore for walks or just watching the sea and sunset.
Friendly staff but slow restaurant service
9.0 / 10.0
everything absolutely great! the location is a bit too remote, a driver is needed to get around. But the hotel staff is great in arranging that for you!
no supermarket or restaurant choices around. if you like to stay in the hotel and enjoy the property and the pool villa, it is the perfect choice!

The hotel is beautiful, our villa was amazing and the location, although remote, was enchanting.
The hotel staff were very nice and did their best but the services at the hotel are slow and not everything is available. Reception need to check before confirming anything. Although they promote a stay and surf, they do not have surf activities. The restaurant is okay. Breakfast was good but dinner was not. The quality of food was very average for a 5 star location.

Breakfast had good options and the food was good overall!

Our three-night retreat at WakaGangga was a symphony of natural beauty and tranquility. Nestled amidst lush tropical vegetation, our stay was accompanied by the soothing sounds of ocean waves at night and greeted by a vibrant garden by day, leading to breathtaking ocean vistas. The paths winding through the greenery offered an intimate encounter with Bali's serene landscapes.
WakaGangga is a haven for those seeking to immerse themselves in nature's embrace, offering a restful pause from the world's haste.
The only aspect that fell short of our expectations was the restaurant. With a limited menu and portions, it didn't quite match the expansive spirit of the resort. Fortunately, a nearby alternative provided the culinary richness we desired.

Great Villa, big room with comfortable bed and sofa, huge bathroom and 2 showers Nice private swimming and outdoor area. Restaurant has a good ocean view. Well equiped fitness centre and fabulous spa
Toilet in the room doesn't have a door.
Even though the location is good, it's a tricky road to get there.

They maintain the villa well. Clean, big and luxurious room. Loved the resort amenities very much, especially the toiletries! They provide natural products with high quality. Definitely Top-Notch customer service. The reception, housekeeping, restaurant staffs, basically everyone are friendly, attentive and professional. Highly recommended.
They could provide more lounging areas nearby the beach and/or pool.

The staff at the reception was very slow. For instance booking a massage took about 45 min.
It’s a bit far from everything.
No other restaurants in the area

Our villa was beautiful, so close to the beach we could hear the ocean from our bed. Staff exceptionally friendly, but most do not speak english. Reception staff have to learn english, as communication was difficult & missunderstandings occur.
Near by temple's blasting songs / talking over & over well up to 10.30pm every night. The restaurant serves sub par food. Due to there location, if you don't have transport, you are forced to either eat at the restaurant or at Cliffhanger Restaurant who only serve western style food. (respectable quality) The beach is poluted, both water & the locals (spot the tourist so far north) don't respect there beautiful beach & leave there trash everywhere.

This place is perfect. If you are looking for a relaxing, authentic, and comfortable stay, stay here!
Classic friendly Balinese hospitality. Everyone was helpful, kind, and wonderful.
Yes, outside there are bugs, Mozzies, little spiders, and lizards. Bali is a tropical island, and the balinese live in harmony with these little creatures. It is not a good reason for poor reviews, so please dont let those reviews colour your opinion. If you keep your door closed, then the bugs don't come inside 🥰
The restaurant has 6 or 7 different menus that span over the day, brekkie, brunch, lunch, tapas, vego, dinner, kids. I ate something amazing and delicious and different every meal at the resort. Eating in the restaurant was something else. I could have sat there forever, staring at the ocean.
The villas are very well temperature controlled. They are only slightly dated as they use traditional wood doors and furniture. When living in a humid environment, it is very normal for wood to swell with the humidity, so a firm tug on a draw may be required, but this does not deflect from the paradise you will find yourself in.
Wifi can come and go a little bit. However, if you have decided to work at this resort instead of turning off and relaxing, there is a business centre with very strong wifi.
The spa is wonderful. I suggest going down, meeting the ladies, and discussing the best service for you. They are friendly and want to give you the best service. The pricing is very, very good.
The turnaround time and customer service were next level. Quick responses to my messages. My check-in and check-out experience were superior. And I left and arrived at very inconvenient times. I was still provided with warm hospitality.
Waka is 45 mins in good traffic from the airport. But it's worth it. You are out of the hustle and bustle, and you fall asleep to the sound of waves. It is not terribly isolated, canggu is 15 mins away.

Very relaxing, lovely view of the sea. The breakfast was very good. It was excellent value for money, 5 star without the price tag. The room was beautiful, especially the bathroom. The lunch was also yummy.
We booked a sea view room but could barely see it from the corner of our room. But just a little walk to the main pool and restaurant it was a beautiful view.
