The Jumah

We loved the privacy this property offered. It was peaceful, quiet, and the perfect place to relax. The location was another huge plus, with everything we wanted within easy reach while still feeling tucked away from the crowds. The villa was clean, comfortable, making our stay even more enjoyable.

There were a few small things that could be improved. Fresh towels weren’t provided when the villa was serviced, and there were no tea towels in the kitchen, which would have been useful. The information book in the villa is looking quite dirty and outdated and could do with being replaced or updated. Some of the cupboard doors and cabinets could do with a few repairs, and a few areas of the property are starting to look a little worn and would benefit from some maintenance. The pancakes at breakfast were delicious, but the breakfast menu itself could really use an update with a bit more variety and fresh options. Overall, these were fairly minor issues, and addressing them would make an already enjoyable stay even better.

The Jumah Busma Great location for restaurants and spa treatments. Easy walk to Sacred Monkey Forest and Ubud Palace, Art Market and entry to rice field walking paths. Set back from Jalan Bisma, so traffic noise wasn't an issue. The garden is lovely and the private pool is fantastic. Monkeys are no problem, as long as you're happy to have an audience while you take your early morning dip! Nyoman and his staff are so friendly and responded immediately to any requests. Nyoman was exceptional in that he allowed us to check out late afternoon for our return night flight - without extra charge. Breakfast was adequate, and delivered any time between 8 and 11. My travel buddy loved the banana pancake and my omelette was tasty. Mini Mart next door for black tea bags and ground plunger coffee supplies etc. Also 5000R GnT in a can. The recommended driver, Mr Swastika, was amazing. Exceptional driver and entertaining and informative conversationalist. Book him for sure. We loved our time at The Jumah Bisma. There is construction next door but, as we were hardly there during the day, it was not really an issue. Some power points need anchoring to the wall.

Beautiful villa Extremely spacious with comfortable beds The pool was clean and a great place to cool down

The location was handy to good local restaurants, a convenience store, transport in Jalan Bisma and far enough away from the road to be quiet in terms of traffic noise. The basic set up was reasonable, and the garden surrounding the entrance to the villa was quiet pleasant. The staff came quickly if you needed them. The villa was private and the pool was good.

Nobody told me about the building noise coming from the site adjacent to the villa, and the constant trail of workers carrying building materials through the front of The Jumah site. The owner of the property was overseas at the time of my two week stay, and the young men looking after the property had little information or authority. The property itself needs an upgrade and major maintenance. One of the bedrooms smelt strongly of mould and there was no external ventilation available for it. Quite of few of the fittings were broken like electrical outlets and the shower head was rusted through. The drainage in the shower was poor with resulting floods onto the bathroom floor. The worst feature was the lack of an A/C unit in the living area meaning it was either hot, or you had to open the place to the mosquitoes in an attempt to try and cool it down. I'm afraid that building boom in Bali is likely to affect visitors in many contexts, as locals want to cash in on Bali's popularity. There was quite a bit of construction in the Bisma area. It would be worth checking about whether this affects any property you are considering.
