Disappointing stay in a well located hotel convenient to old town Vevey and market square

The location on the market square was what we chose with full knowledge that the Circus Knie was in town. It was fun to look down from our balconyroom to the outside area of the cirucs. The location is perfect for being in old town Vevey. Staff was very friendly. Bara/dining area attractive, but the music was annoying and repetive - not designed for an over 50 crowd. We parked in the Simplon garage - a short distance away. The Vielle Ville lot is also convenient.

The room (superior room with balcony) felt barren. The bed was on a low bed frame - 7"off the ground. We should have changed rooms immediately as this was really difficult for somebody with mild mobility issues. There was no door on the bathroom - though line of site was blocked by a closet, thankfully! The lighting was either very bright (with some switches that didn't work or were difficult to operate) or "atmospheric" with attractive but difficult to operate bedside and desk lights. Antique furniture was OK except that it showed moisture rings etc. The music in the bar area was repetitive and annoying to these over 70 ears, which is a shame since the atmosphere is nice in the bar/dining area. Due to the circus taking up the entire market place we were not able to take advantage of the reduced parking rates.

Great stay, great location, friendly staff!

The room was a good size for me and my baby. The bathroom was clean and also a good size. The bed was comfortable. Having a coffee machine was nice.

There was no lift and I had to carry my pram/baby up four flights of stairs which wasn’t ideal. The bedside table was two boxes stacked on top of each other, I thought that could be better, especially for drinking coffee in the morning or putting a water glass down.

Such a great location - close to the promenade at water’s edge and close to the train station as well as the best chocolate just up the street! Management is really intent on making your stay a good one & their kind dealings make you feel like family.

Lovely place in Vevey

It's a lovely place with nice people/staff. We enjoyed our time there and felt very welcome. Centrally located and close by the lake. The food in the restaurant is tasty - we can recommend to eat there.

I enjoyed my stay and was very happy with the room!

Very clean, they provided towels, shower gel, water etc., the bed was comfortable, great location, nice staff

the walls and doors probably aren‘t well-insulated since i woke up a couple times at night when someone returned home, used the water in their room etc. There was also no bathroom door, the bathroom was open to the room which didn‘t matter to me as a solo traveller but if I had been travelling with someone else it would have been uncomfortable.

A good base if you want to explore Vevey and surrounding area

In a great position right on the main square and beside the lake. The food in the restaurant was very good with a nice selection. Friendly staff.

It position has one downside - a bit noisy late into the night and then very early morning on market days as they set up the stalls The pillows could be a better quality ie more supportive

A nice hotel with a great location, but has no elevator or air conditioning. We would have loved a fan in the room.

The property was in a great location and the staff was helpful with helping us with the bus transportation.

The room was hot and stuffy as they had no air conditioning. We were able to open the windows, but the noise level/smokers from down below made that difficult.

Charming little hotel directly on the lake

The location was superb as was the breakfast. The room in the highest floor was very charming with an incredible view.

Getting to the highest floor with a heavy suitcase via the starcaise was a bit of a challenge, but worth it in the end.

Way too expensive for just an overnight stay!

Size and comfort of room as well as location!

The check-in/check-out procedures! The gentleman at the desk only spoke French which is fine for domestic travelers. Was far from welcoming as he was very preoccupied with serving tables/guests at the in-house restaurant. We had a real early checkout and there was no one around to take care of the formalities. Much against our will, we were compelled to leave the key in the room and follow up with an email and picture saying the need for us to do so! We had a room on the first floor and the noise of weekend partying went on till the wee hours of the morning!! So be prepared if you are looking at getting good, sound sleep!
