The Cottage was absolutely lovely. It was super clean, quiet and comfortable as well as great value and perfectly located for exploring Lewis and Harris. We really loved being able to park right outside our door and to wash our clothes in a machine after weeks on the road. Our hosts were lovely and so quick to respond when we needed them.

Homey retreat from which to explore nature at its finest.

After nearly two weeks in Scotland, this was our most comfortable accommodation for 3 adults. Absolutely everything you need in the kitchen, plus provided coffee, laundry, etc. There is ample space for lounging and playing card games after a day spent exploring the Isles of Lewis and Harris from its ideal location. Marlene and Angus are friendly and prompt in their communication and went above and beyond to accommodate us after our ferry off was cancelled due to gale force winds.

Top quality accommodation in beautiful location.

Great cottage, with top quality fixtures and fittings throughout, and everything was provided for a self -catering stay. Lovely peaceful location, only a short drive away from Callanish standing stones, beautiful beaches, the black house village and museum, as well as wildlife reserves. Friendly and helpful owner, came by to check if everything was ok for us, and let us know he was available if needed to help with any issues.

Odd neighborhood setting in a strange “town” or grouping of homes, farms, and industrial buildings. It had everything you could imagine and probably would never need (ie shoe polish), except some of the basics that I would like to have had such as paper towels, salt & pepper, aluminum foil, storage baggies, etc. I do not like having to strip the beds and take out the trash… It seems like we paid enough for the place and that should be done for us!

A beautiful wooden cabin, perfect for a relaxing getaway!

The cottage was so lovely inside and had everything we could have wanted. It was very warm, and had great views out across some fields with horses. We met the host who was very friendly and helpful. We'd definitely stay again.

Fantastic quiet & comfortable holiday base

Bright, well equipped and comfortable, this cottage has everything you need for a holiday in Lewis. 20 minutes drive from Stornoway and so many beautiful beaches and places of interest. Located in a small quiet area with open views. Marlene and Angus are so friendly and keen for you to have a great time.

The only thing I can say that’s in any way negative is that the kitchen sink tap leaked! Didn’t exactly impact our holiday. Everything else was perfect!

We were unfortunate with the weather. The immediate location was a bit barren. We could do a local walk/run, but other things required a drive.

Lovely comfortable cottage with all up to date amenities. It was a v relaxing place to visit with lots of extra touches such as locally produced organic shower gel, dressing gowns etc. Good location for visiting around the island.

We had brought bikes with us....would have been useful if there had been somewhere to store them when it was wet.

Lovely countryside location with easy access to visitor attractions. Lovely modern home with central heating, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and spacious lounge/diner and superb bathroom. Lovely bright rooms even on rainy days! Ideal during these Covid times. Delightful, friendly owners who I met outside.

Joli cottage sur l'île de Lewis

Maison récente, très propre. Grande cuisine ouverte et bien fournie pour cuisiner. Parquet vernis partout. Grande salle de bain avec de beaux matériaux. Facilité de parking, avec portail. Bâtiment bien conçu, sans vis-à-vis. Lit king-size dans la chambre parentale. Marlene et Angus sont agréables et disponibles pour répondre à nos questions. (Dommage qu'on n'ait pas de photos de l'intérieur car c'est joli)

Dans le descriptif, il est noté PS3 et lecteur DVD, nous ne les avons pas vus. Ainsi que les jeux pour enfants/ puzzles. Quand la température extérieure est douce, le logement peut devenir très chaud et nécessite d'ouvrir les fenêtres.

Séjour parfait à Moorpark cottages

La maison est ultra équipée, propre, bien aménagée, les espaces sont très grands (salon, cuisine, chambres, sdb). Le chauffage sol est très agréable. Il y a tout pour cuisiner, faire la lessive et nettoyer. Les chambres disposent de rideaux occultants. La terrasse est très agréable. L'accès est facile et la maison se situe non loin d'Arnol house et Butt of Lewis. Merci pour ce séjour qui nous a fait aimer encore davantage cette belle île !
