The best place to stay for the Winter Olympics with the best views of the mountains.

This hotel exceeded my expectations in the best of ways. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The location is right in the center with a fabulous view of the mountains and Stelvio pass. I could watch the Olympic ski races without ever having to leave my balcony. The rooms are chalet-chic and newly updated. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Bormio. It’s excellent value.

I needed to leave my luggage for a few hours after checkout and it was very nice of the staff to accommodate. However, I wish there was a more secure room as I felt that my luggage was left in the open available to anyone passing by.

Good location with plenty of parking. Central

All good in general.

Only the new lady at the reception was friendly. Overall the staff not very welcoming. At breakfast they quickly took my plate snd I wasn’t finished yet, just went to get something from the buffet. Not the way to treat guests.

Nice location, room size and breakfast

The room had a great size and beds were comfortable. The water pressure very nice and the location perfect both if you want to ski or just chill in the city.

When we arrived we heard the spa/pool was closed and it was mentioned on Booking.com but never seen the communication on booking about this. It was basically the only reason why we opted for this hotel and not for others

Good hotel in a good location, easy access to the town centre and restaurants etc. The room was a good size, clean and comfortable.

Staff could be a little more attentive when you are waiting at the reception rather than having a social chat on the phone

Not good value for money

Despite being placed in the dependence we were closer to the city center and we had secure free parking outside the premises.

Booking.com listing is called Hotel Nazionale but the actual hotel is Hotel Derby. We picked a room based on the photos on the website. When we checked in despite our booking being there we hadn't been assigned any room. The receptionist secured us a room but in a dependence located across the bridge. More than €180 per night and there was no shower gel, not a complimentary bottle of water, no glasses. Very basic. The bed too was not comfortable. They were 2 single beds joined together as a double bed so we had to put up with a considerable gap between the mattresses. Breakfast was very basic. Just a few pastries and soggy scrambled eggs with some ham and cheese. You wouldn't expect that from a hotel in Valtellina which is famous for its food and cuisine.

L’unica pecca è che iniziano prima delle 8 le pulizie delle stanze vicine, il che risulta fastidioso per chi desidera riposare qualche ora in più.

Camera grande e spaziosa, probabilmente di recente ristrutturazione. Ma solo la camera

Assenza del frigo in stanza ( c’era il mobile ma mancava fisicamente il frigo). Assenza asciugamani da bidet. Struttura molto vecchia che dimostra tutti gli anni che ha. Servizio colazione totalmente da rivedere, troppo basico e scarno rispetto a quanto pagato per un pernotto in coppia

Buona struttura in pieno centro a Bormio, camere ampie con bagni nuovi. Sale comuni ampie. Buona colazione con diverse tipologie di dolci e salato.

Il prezzo a notte un po’ alto per la tipologia di struttura e i servizi offerti, piscina aperta solo d inverno.

Ben oltre le nostre aspettative!!

L'hotel è andato ben oltre le nostre aspettative. La camera era grande abbastanza per due persone, arredamenti, bagno ed infissi nuovi. Tutto davvero molto pulito. Molto comodo per la posizione di vicinanza alle QC Terme di Bormio Bagni Vecchi e per la presenza di parcheggio gratuito per gli ospiti dell'hotel. L'accoglienza del personale è stata molto calorosa. La colazione al mattino tipica italiana con prodotti di qualità e una modesta scelta di cibo dolce e salato. Punto a favore il camino acceso nella hall che, tornati dalla giornata alle terme, ci ha regalato una bella atmosfera giusta per sorseggiare un calice di vino rosso!
