Good Housekeeping, but Several Areas Need Improvement Our experience at Mai was mixed. The housekeeping staff were genuinely kind, respectful, and attentive throughout our stay. They regularly changed our bedsheets and towels and replenished our room supplies. We also had a positive experience with their WhatsApp customer support, who were willing to help when we needed assistance with rescheduling our hop-on hop-off bus booking. However, we encountered several disappointing issues. Our room assignment concern was not resolved to our satisfaction, as moving to the room we expected would have required an additional payment of over 600,000 VND. The bathroom drainage was also poor, with water taking a very long time to drain after showering. The most disappointing experience was during our early-morning checkout. We had several extremely heavy bags and asked the staff for assistance, but despite being told they would help, no one assisted us with our luggage from the room to our Grab vehicle. We eventually had to ask our driver for help. We appreciate the housekeeping team and the helpful customer support representative, but overall, the experience could have been much better. I hope management improves its room allocation process, bathroom maintenance, and guest assistance during checkout.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at Mai Charming Hotel & Spa. The location is great, right in the heart of Hanoi Old Quarter, making it convenient to explore the area. We were lucky to witness the fireworks during the Liberation Day celebration on our last day, which was a memorable experience! However, the celebrations also caused road closures, making it difficult for us to book a Grab and get around. One thing to note when booking through Agoda: our Family Suite was listed as having two queen beds, but the actual room had only one bed. For a family group of 8 staying in two rooms, I would recommend booking the Family Room with Balcony instead. Despite these minor inconveniences, we still had a decent stay and appreciated the hotel's central location.

Our stay at Mai Charming Hotel was disappointing. The internet was unstable and frequently disconnected. The bathroom also needs better maintenance—the toilet took a long time to flush, and there was visible grime and mold on the walls and doors. Cleanliness, bathroom maintenance, and Wi-Fi reliability definitely need improvement.

The rooms are pretty small for the price you pay for the location. Location no doubt is good but other than that nothing much to highlight. Things are old and worn out in the room.
