Food was excellent. Hotel was clean. Great to have the fire going every afternoon and evening. Complimentary drinks and nibbles were just perfect post slopes.

The front desk needs to be manned at all times by the same people so the proper information can be communicated.

Rental of snowboard and shoes were prepared before I arrived as I emailed them prior of my sizing. Every dinner they will reserve a seat for me too. Very thoughtful!

The hotel is 50m from the nearest ski lift and has a good boot room in the basement with ski hire on site. It is the only hotel in the area with its own onsen. The all inclusive food and drink was remarkable - not only breakfast, lunch and dinner, but afternoon snacks of sandwiches, cakes, nuts and sweets. Beer, wines and spirits as well as soft drinks, fruit juices, teas and coffee throughout the day and evening. Multilingual staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food was decent with a mix of Japanese and Western style dishes at every meal, all served buffet style.

The building is very tired - last refurbished in the 1990s, I think, and showing its age. Some of the external concrete is failing - the stairs by the verandah are off limits as they are cracked and falling down. The plumbing also needs some attention as the bathroom floors flood with foul smelling water when the bath plug is pulled. The beds were fine, but the chest of drawers was unusable as the bottoms had fallen out of two of the three drawers.
